Has anyone used this stroller bag for gate check?

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4698055

We just bought a Pliko P3 and will be bringing it to WDW with us in Oct. DH doesn't think it will be damaged by the airline, but I don't want to take the chance of gate checking it without some protection. If you haven't used this bag, is there another one that you would recommend?

Try checking the stroller thread, I recall reading something about stroller bags. Otherwise, I won't be any help.

No one on the stroller threads talked about this particular bag, just the less expensive, non-padded bag. Still looking for opinions on this one. Thanks!

I would totally get this bag. Our P3 has been damaged numerous times when gate checked and finally completely trashed on our last trip to WDW. I used pipe cleaners, mickey mouse stickers, and duct tape to keep it functional for our week there. It was a real sight! On our return flight it was damaged even further, which I didn't think was possible. The bag will be worth it!

I would definately get a bag for your Pliko but I don't know if that one will work. That bag is 41" x 10" x 15". The Peg Perego site says the Pliko is 40.5" x 15.5" x 15.5".

I have the Peg Perego Transport Bag that is made for the Pliko and always used it when I took my Pliko on the plane. The bag has come up from under the plane filthy and wet but the stroller has always been fine.

The Peg Perego bag doesn't has a shoulder strap like the one you posted.

It can however be stored into its own pocket which is nice for when the stroller isn't in the bag. I have always had a bit of extra room in the bag so I can throw in a jacket or something.

I have a bigger version of that bag that I use for my Graco strollers. Single and double fit in it. It worked great on our last trip!!!! Our bag was filthy and there were tears in it after each flight, but we were glad it was the bag and not the stroller. It's a heavy canvas and really protected the stroller. I got mine at USA baby, but it is that brand. I highly reccomend some type of bag, because every time we have flown we have had damage. One time we didn't use a bag for an umbrella stroller, and the stroller lost it's cupholder, and was filthy after. Never again will I fly without my strollers being in a bag!!!

I just got that bag, and although I haven't used it yet on a flight, I would be more than comfortable gate checking it...or even checking it with regular luggage. It is very thick with good padding, although the padding is not throughout. I have a Mac Quest and it fits fine, but I can't help you with the Peg fitting.

For all previous flights, we have used this bag for gate checking and it has been perfect. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5652241
I got the one you are asking about b/c I was thinking of checking the stroller and just ergo-ing it or getting that car seat stroller thing for the airport. Regardless, for the price, I will most certainly get some good use out of it.

I don't think they toss around the bags quite as much with gate checking as they do with regular luggage, so you'll be really safe with the black padded bag and okay with a non-padded for gate checking. Just get some sort of bag because our red one is really dirty from just gate checking!

I definitely recommend using some sort of travel bag because the strollers can get baned around and dirty. We have brought P3's our last 2 trips and used an Eddie Bauer travel bag for them. The bag was huge but not padded so we wrapped it around the stroller some which helped pad it a bit.

But if you decide to buy one, there is a lady selling on on Strollers and Beyond (a Yahoo group) for $20 shipped. She also has a double bag for sale as well. I just went and re-read her post and she says that it does fit the P3 well. HTH
