String's Atkin's Journal (Please Comment)

Beth, I'm sending extra  s for you! I'm sorry you're not feeling well and that you had a lousy time at the lab. :(

Hopefully things will be better soon. Until then, be extra good to yourself, OK? :sunny:

Hey Beth!:wave2:
Sorry the news wasn't so good this AM. Here is an extra  for you. I agree also, sometimes this female stuff just stinks!
I hope you are feeling better soon. I know I was "off" last week and it just messes everything up.:tilt: Make sure you take good care of yourself!::yes::
And I definitely like Erin's idea of dumping the ice cream on DH's head!!:duck: Jeesh! What's wrong with these guys sometimes!?
I hope your day gets brighter and :sunny: er!!

Hi Beth,

I wanted to check in with you to see how you are doing. I'm so sorry your tests results are not more positive. You are doing very well with your program and that's good. I'm also sorry DH is sabotaging your efforts. Don't you just hate it that men don't have to exercise to lose weight? My DH has not worked out once since we started SBD and he has lost as much, if not a little bit more, weight than I have! Oh well. Please take care of yourself, which it sounds like you are, by taking some "me" time each day. I'll check on you again later in the week. :)

Hey Beth, wanted to send some California :sunny: your way. Sorry to hear that things didn't go well at the doctor's. You're right, it's not easy being female. Our plumbing is complicated I guess, but look at the wonderful things our bodies produce like your Katie.

Good for you and passing up that 2 cups of lc ice cream. I love the stuff. Shame on DH. You must be looking fabulous for him to react that way!;)

I'm taking your lead today and trying to drink plenty of water. Had 2 bottles already. Have a great week Beth.:D

Beth~
    Extra hugs for you today! Thank you for the PM and I sent you one back. I'll be praying for you!

Tracy

Beth, I know you're really busy today but I wanted to ask you some questions regarding Curves.

Well, you know I got the FIRM dvds but I still haven't gotten my fanny lifter and won't have it for another 4 weeks or so. Anyway, in the meantime I'm thinking about joining Curves. There's one 1 block away from where I live and they just extended the hours. Here are my questions:

1. What type of machines do they use? I heard they use resistance, not weights.
2. Is resistance as good as weights?
3. If I go regularly (3 times a week), how quickly should I see results?
4. Will I build muscle? (I want to tone pluse have a little muscle).
5. Will it make a big difference in my abs?
6. How long have you been doing Curves and are you happy with the results?

I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions, but you're the first person I thought to ask. Again, I know you're busy, so reply when you have time. Thanks!

Beth, thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it. I was going to sign up tomorrow morning, but my car is at the shop and won't be ready until around noon. My plan is to go to Curves either when I get off work or Wedneday morning. I need to do something to get my metabolism moving and I think I'll alternate the FIRM with Curves. Thanks again for your input. Have a good evening!:D

I would like to thank all of you for your support. I had a great talk with DH. Combine that with all of your support, a good workout, and some TLC, I'm feeling much better. Things didn't go the way I wanted today, but I still have 2 months before I have to consider surgery. The meds may still work. I also need to get my bloodwork back.

I'm much less nauseated. I managed to eat dinner. Water accomplished. I've switched to decaf tea now. Blessings counted, and all of you are counted in those blessings. Exercise was Curves and mopping the floors. No coffee today.

Thank you again. I hope all of you have a relaxing evening.
Beth

:sunny: and :goodvibes and  for your day today, Beth. I hope you're feeling tons better. Maybe eating some dinner last night helped?

Try not to feel discouraged about your news yesterday; like you said, you still have two months to go before surgery and maybe the medicine will work. You're doing such a good job of keeping a positive attitude--never forget we're all here pulling for you.

Thank you again, Beth, for the pm yesterday. :D

Have a good day, sweetie--
Erin

The :sunny: is shining today. I'm still waiting for Aunt Flo to arrive. Bonus, extended Dzone rollercoaster. Actually, I'm feeling pretty good today. t is amazing what a good night's sleep can do for my outlook. Maybe I should do that more often.:scratchin

I've accomplished taking my meds and counting my blessings. Water is at 1.5 liters so far. No caffiene or exercise yet.

Today is busy. I keep saying that. We've got dance lessons and grocery shopping. I then have to finish cleaning for the party. Tonight I'm making a cheesecake for the party. I'll probably log back on while it is baking.

Erin, thanks for checking in.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Things went well today. I got everything done. Tomorrow I can coast . All goals accomplished. The kitchen is closed, and I'm headed to bed after American Idol.
Have a good night.
Beth

Beth: I'm so sorry that you've had some not so good news. I agree, sometimes it just sucks to be female! New treatments come along almost everyday. Keep the faith.

The study BC pill I'm on completely keeps me away from the emotional hormonal roller coaster. I take the pacs continuously - no period. I can't believe how much better I feel on them than before the study started. Little to no breakouts, no mid-cycle cry. I don't know if they are slowing down my weight loss or if it's just my old age.

Your Katie was very brave - she sounds like such a trooper. I'm sure she had a great time with her grandparents. My folks, DH and I are going through grandchild/niece withdrawal. I didn't know how bad I miss them both until we had to put them on the plane in OC. How nice your little girl has family so close.

Keep up the fantastic work - thwarting your DH's sabotage is commendable. I have to fight the portion control with my DH all the time. I think his eyes are way larger than my stomach!

More spring time sunshine coming your way!

-Laurie

This is just a quick post. I've got to run. I never elaborated on my exercise yesterday. I did the 2 mile WATp. It was more an issue of time than motivation. Today I will hit Curves. I should have time for 3 circuits. The party is tonight. The cheesecake looks good. I'll make salad, quiche, and fruit/veggie tray. The only clue people will have that they are eating low carb is that the quiche is crustless.

Still no sign of Aunt Flo, but plenty of symptoms. I thought BCP was supposed to make me More regular? Oh well, mo rushing mother Nature.

I hope to get to your journals later. You are in my thoughts.
Beth

Hey Beth!!:wave2: You are doing great this week. good for you!!

Yes BCP "should" make you more regular. Of course "should" is no guarentee..... Hang in there, it will happen whether you want it to or not! The addage "be careful what you wish for" comes to mind.....;)
Hope the party goes well; the food sounds wonderful. ::yes:: What time should I be there?:teeth:

Keep up the good work! Have a great day!!:sunny: :sunny:

Uh oh, I'm in trouble. I'm still in the throes of Dzone. Still not period though. It is annoying. Anyways, I digress. The party was a success. The problem is that EVERY person gave up chocolate for Lent. I have an entire mocha cheesecake in my house during DZONE! I stopped at one piece, but it was hard. I plan on freezing part of it. I hope to stay cheat free through this.

I did go to Curves. 3 circuits. Blessings counted. 4 liters of water. 1 cup of coffee. Meds taken.

I'm off to bed. Take care.
Beth

Quick, Beth, get the cheesecake into the freezer or I'm coming over to get a piece!:teeth: Wow! What a temptation!!! It sounds like you're the boss of it, though, and it's not going to dare give you any trouble.

Beth, it sounds like you've had a really good day. I thought of you when I went by Curves today. . .maybe this summer I'll try it out. Anyway, you're managing to stay on track because you're one tough (excuse the expression) cookie--keep hanging on until the ride is over, OK?

Thanks, Beth, for your posts today. They helped me all day long!

Have a good night,
Erin

I'm jealous of my DH. The weather is terrible, cold with high winds and snow. He decided to work from home today. I wish I could decide to work from home. Do you think they would deliver patients to my door?

His being home is actually a good thing. I'll hit Curves today without any time constraints. 4 circuits today. The cheesecake may be low carb, but it is high calorie. Worth every bite though. :teeth: I weigh in tomorrow, and the bloat fairie is in the house.

I'm not consistant with posting my meals.
Breakfast was a piece of vegetarian Quiche and my cup of coffee
Lunch wll be turkey and chees in a La tortilla tortilla
Dinner will be a steak and veggie stir fry.
I have plenty of veggies and cheese for snacking.

Meds/vitamins taken, I'm now up to 13 pills a day. I feel old just thinking about it.
I've counted my blessings.
Water is at 1.5 liters so far, I would like to do 4.5 liters today.

Have a good one,
Beth

Good morning Beth!
Sounds like that "pleasant" weather that you're experiencing is headed my way today. I am getting anxious for Spring that's for sure!::yes:: Enjoy your time at Curves today. It's always nice when you can enjoy your workout and not have any time constraints.

I hope weigh in goes well for you tomorrow! Take care!

Tracy:teeth: :wave2:

hey beth, i've finally gotten a chance to catch up with your journal!

that is evil that no one could help you eat that cheesecake! i hope it likes its new home in the freezer ;)

i'm sorry you're experiencing a tough (and extended) dzone this time around. big  . i hope the next 2 months go well and that this surgery can be avoided. i'll be keeping you in my thoughts :goodvibes

and i think they should *definitely* bring the patients to your door ::yes:: . if dh can work from home so can you :p . hehe, too bad real life doesn't work that way  . but at least you're taking advantage of him being home to get some extra quality time in at curves! that's always a positive :)

hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Beth, I'm sending extra  s and loads of extra :sunny: your way today!! Enjoy that time at Curves - it's wonderful when you don't have to feel rushed! That's a luxury you don't often get!

I'm sorry the dzone seems endless this time around. Hopefully your body will get used to its enforced cycle soon and the next 2 months on BC pills will go smoother. Play up your misery and get that DH of yours to baby you a little bit!! Tell him he'd better be extra good to you or all your WISH friends will FIND him!! :teeth: Besides then we could celebrate by helping you eat that cheesecake!! ::yes::

I think the cheesecake should be cut in individual slices and frozen, so you can have a piece every now and then!

Hang in there, Beth - things will be looking brighter soon! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
