Street names?

all the streets in my subdivision have French names. I have to spell my street out whenever asked for my address.

I used to live near:

Bed Bug Hill Road
Sooey Place Road
Purgatory Road
Dirt Road (yes, actually called Dirt Road)

These are great. :rotfl2:

There is one not far called Goobertown Road. Of course, there is Goobertown Grocery Store. It used to be a small town.

The cities in AR are the ones that make me laugh:

Toad Suck - yes, I even saw it in a book on funny signs.
Goobertown
Possum grape
Grubbs

I totally pay attention to street names when looking. We have been thinking of buying property/house in Oregon and one city that keeps having houses that fit our needs is Amity. I wont even look at houses there! :scared1:

I know. It makes no sense but I cant help it.

Maybe if you think of it like Jaws instead of Amityville Horror, you will be ok...

There is a whole town called Voorhees here.

We used to live on Desperation Lane....now it's been designated by the college as housing.

My brother lives on RoundMound Hill

My inlaws live on poore street *and sadly they are poor thanks to bad construction lately* :sad1:

A good friend of mine lives on lush lane and her ex-dh is an alcoholic

A cool thing though my fil named a circle in the subdivision they bought and built houses on and owned after my DD who is the oldest grandchild/Daughter. It's fun to drive by that every so often and she has her picture taken with the sign.

Growing up, one of my friends lived on Easy Street.

There's a street in our neighborhood called Noe Way.

The main street in our town is Rubber Ave. Next town over has Noe Place.

I can't think of any particularly strange or funny street names in my town.

However, my family builds houses, and therefore often gets the opportunity to name streets. There is an entire area of my town that my family built called Scotchtown and all of the roads have Scottish names. There's also a Karen Drive named after my cousin, and Roland's Way named after my deceased great-uncle. No streets named after me, though. But my dad and cousin's LLC has a "K" in it for my name (the LLC's name is the initials of my dad's and cousin's children's first names).

I live close to a planned city and all of the street names are based on literature. There are a couple out there that just make me shake my head including Morning Wind. :scared: The worst though is a street that was spelled wrong, it was supposed to be Satin. :rotfl:
