Are people not aware how many guests have been injured by flying phones? I'm sure everyone single one of those that were filming thought they knew what they were doing.

My understanding from talking to vloggers:

It’s generally a no-go to film with phones on U attractions.

Go pro usage re POV on attractions is also a no, for the majority of us.

There is an exception for approved “press”, those with a pass that U has granted. These individuals are trusted to use a go-pro/mount that won’t hurt anyone. No, I do not know the application process involved. Again, you should ask U directly.

You can vlog in the parks, within reason, just not on the rides. If you would become a popular blogger, you might eventually be invited to visit during press events for new attractions, and could film at that time.

There are metal detectors at some of the rides such as the roller coasters. If your phone gets detected, they will ask you to put it in a locker.

On top of that, Universal’s rides are more intense as opposed to Disney, hence why you see a lot of on-ride broadcasts at Disney instead of Universal.

The OP might not be reading this but other people may have the same question (especially as you pointed out with Epic Universe opening soon) and click on the post for the answer. I do not think there is anything horribly offensive or objectionable in this discussion that would merit deleting it.

Very true to both posts.

I had someone ask me very recently about Universal and GoPro and what their policy is. Things like this are always relevant imo.
