Strategy for Wine and Dine half marathon week

We booked our vacation for the week beginning October 29 - it seemed like a great week crowd-wise, based on all the crowd calendars. And then the wine and dine half marathon was scheduled for the end of that week (Nov 4-6) and apparently sold out pretty quickly :worried:

Can anyone provide strategies for avoiding crowds during marathon events? Are there specific parks to avoid, better times to go into parks/take breaks from parks, etc.? It looks like we should really only be impacted the last 2 of the 7 days we have tickets (Thursday and Friday).

Thanks! We are approaching our ADR booking date, so I want to try to get a general idea of our planned schedule pretty soon.

You booked the week of Halloween because it was a low crowd calendar week? You may want to avoid MK that week especially the 31st.

We avoid these events for a reason. Crowds are only really low when nothing is going on and kids are in school.

Oct/Nov as a whole, do not really have weeks with low crowds anymore. Especially with the last of the MNSSHP's and F&W. The marathon was that same weekend last year, so I assumed it would be the same this year. I was there during the Wine & Dine half last year, and I honestly don't think the marathon events had any impact on crowds, but in general, that week and weekend is more crowded than it used to be. I never had to plan around any of it. I made sure to do rope drop mornings, breaks in the afternoon and back to a park in the evening, and it was fine. A bit crowded, but nothing that I couldn't manage. I am taking a break from that week in Nov, for the first time in years though, and chose the first week in September when nothing but 1 MNSSHP and Labor Day is going on while I'm there lol.

Just wanted to say hi - we booked that same week (oct. 29 - nov. 5) and wondered the same thing when we found out about the marathon. We check out on the 5th, so also hoping we don't have to deal with it too much.
