What's your plan for MNSSHP?

We're hoping to get in at 4pm and get some rides in before the party starts. We're also hoping to ride some rides at night that we likely won't try to ride again on our full day at MK. We're either going to grab something to eat around 6pm while we're confined to that one area.

Still unsure whether I'm taking the kids in in regular clothes and having them change between 6&7pm or whether they'll come in wearing costumes. What are you doing with yours?

Kids are 8,6&4 btw, and it'll be their first EVER time at Disney on our MNSSHP night, which is why I'd kind of like them to be wearing 'normal' clothes when I get those first jaw-dropping grins on camera. Thanks :)

Our kids have worn costumes to the park; we try to travel as light as possible! And all four of our kids' first exposure to MK was at a MNSSHP.

As for a MNSSHP strategy, here's what worked really well for us last year:

* we got to MK around 4:30 and many of the regular guests were leaving. We went back to Fantasyland and rode just about everything between 4:45 and a couple minutes after 6pm, when we were directed to Tomorrowland. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes for anything; Dumbo, Peter Pan, Mickey's Philharmagic, Snow White & Winnie the Pooh. Those were all attractions that had longer waits during the party and on our "regular" MK day.

* when all the MNSSHP ticket holders are in Tomorrowland while the rest of MK is decorated, the lines were a little longer than what we found in Fantasyland, but we still got on Astro Orbiter, which is much better at night than in the day, Space Mountain and Buzz LightYear's Space Ranger Spin. After those three rides, the rest of the park was open.

The crowds at MNSSHP, which has been sold out both times we've attended, were quite a bit lighter than on our MK day later in the trip. ToonTown seemed to be an exception. We've found it very crowded during MNSSHP.

I would recommend skipping supper until later in the evening and riding as many rides as you can before 7pm. I think we actually waited until around 9pm to eat. The kids (and the parents:earsboy: ) forget about eating when they're at MK! And later in the evening it felt better to get off our feet for awhile.

Have fun!

Thanks so much, that's very helpful! We're planning on having an early dinner/late lunch before we arrive at MNSSHP, so hopefully we'll be able to get in as much as possible during those early hours before we stop to re-fuel!

I'm so excited to see their reaction to MK :)

Hi xyymom. Looks like we'll be at DW at the same time. I'm taking costumes for both DD & I to dress as pirates, but we'll play that by ear, so to speak. I wonder if many parents dress for MNSSHP. I definitely want something comfortable for DD to play in.

Hope y'all have a wonderful, magical trip!

This is our fourth time at MNSSHP :) We dress up our kids in something that isn't too restrictive. My husband wears his standard pumpkin shirt and I have a fancy vest. I try to take something for later for the kids because if it ends up being really warm as it has for us on two occasions you will need it. My best advice to first timers is get your picture taken as soon as possible. Within a short time you all will have that ragged look and the kids won't be happy about waiting for those pictures. I'm excited to hear about being able to get in early to beat the rush - we always have gone around 6:30 and it does get crowded. Thanks for the info.

16 days!
