Strategy changing for scheduling fp+

Since fp+ is changing how should we schedule ours..? My plan was to arrive early, hit short lines. Schedule fp+ for afternoons when ride lines r longer. So now what's best strategy now that it looks like we'll be able to book more after we begin using first three? Should we go ahead and book early in days and plan to book others for later in day once we're there? Hope this makes sense. Any comments, suggestions r greatly appreciated. :). And we do have park hoppers also.

Hit non EMH parks at rope drop, spend the first two hours riding standby, then schedule FP+ around and after lunch (unless you schedule a night-time parade or experience). Spend your evenings scheduling and using add'l FP+ and doing things standby that do not have extended waits.

I would probably schedule at 11, 12, and 1. Or maybe even 10, 11 and 12, planning to hit the 10 as close to 11 as possible.

Mostly though, I plan to watch the boards here and see the first hand reports that start coming in. I need to know what sort of options tend to be left. Honestly, we don't even know the impact yet of offsite being able to prebook. So we just need some time for people to 1) find out about the system and 2) start using it before we know for sure what the best strategy will be.

If there doesn't appear to be anything worthwhile left, then I'd probably push the FP times until later after lunch.

We also need to know how this will work with tiering. That has the potential to make or break this.

We made ours for May 18-25 before the news came out. We haven't done anything because there's no date for when the additional fastpasses will be available. I wouldn't count on any headliner being available later.

Keep in mind with the info posted last week, you have to USE all 3 before getting more.

Pretty sure thats why she is asking about scheduling hers earlier....so she can add more after they use their three.

Right now, if you schedule your FP+ for headliners in the afternoon and do mid priority attractions via standby during the day, the obvious change for most people will be to schedule their headliners earlier in the day, then add FP+ for whatever is available that evening. Even if it is not a a headliner, if it reduces wait it is valuable.

This is my plan too (for our trip in June). I'm hoping to FP the mountains, and then pick up HM and PotC later. I think it's only "worth" the extra FP at the MK, at the other parks I will probably schedule one at 11 to use when lines get bad but before we head to the hotel for our afternoon rest, and schedule the other two for early evening post-swim.

This is exactly what I said would be happening as soon as the news came out re: adding on FP+ available after first 3 are used. Now the a.m. will be jam packed with FP+ reservations and p.m. will fill up day-of. :confused3

We haven't been nearly as often as others here, but really are more than 3 needed???

Yes we need more. MK is tough to do everything without getting more than 3 FP+. The other parks not so much at the moment but it depends on what happens with tiering and other limitations.

I'm also curious to hear what is going to happen with park hoppers because that will change the strategy as well! Thoughts?

I was just pointing out that it's not "begin using use our first 3", you have to actually use all 3 before scheduling more.
