Strangest thing seen at a Disney park

I agree with people who have said they have seen strange items of dress. I was in Epcot on new years day 2006, we were heading for spaceship earth and there was a group of girls in front of us who looked about 17/18 years old. It was 1st thing in the morning so it wasn't warm out yet, there was one girl who was wearing the highest heals I have ever seen with very short shorts, a bikini top and a full length fur coat over the top. Not sure how she got into the park like that, baybe she had the coat zipped up when she entered. It sure looked strange though and very uncomfortouble!

We saw a boy about 12 years old with his head stuck between the wrought iron bars on Main Street (the restaurant that sells hot dogs). He looked plenty old enough to know better, and they had to get paramedics/firemen to get him out. He was there quite awhile (we left after eating, and he was still there when we came back through later - his parents didn't look too happy either ).

I'm assuming you mean people from Spain - or are you lumping in any and all people from Spanish speaking backgrounds. How do you tell is a Spanish speaking person is from Europe. I have full Mediterannean lineage and I have a hard time. Enlighten me please.

As per Buddhist monks. . .we used to live right down the road from a Buddhist temple. Our land and the temple land had part of a property line in common, in fact. We saw them all the time, caring for the temple, raking the leaves, shoveling snow etc. DH and I were once in Boston with some friends and noticed everyone staring. We were just and had to ask. Apparently, there was this large group of Buddhist monks gathered drinking frappes. They just didn't even register to us as out of place.

An Amish or Mennonite couple probably wouldn't get noticed by us either - there's a sizeable Mennonite population in my home town, and no one gives it any thought other than A. They've had their own school longer than any other church B. They're really, really, really strict about the TV things and C. The dress pattern all the married women wear is just not that flattering on everyone.

Next time, roll the kid around (helps if you lift them kind of parallel to the ground), so that they are facing the bars, rather than facing away from them. That way, when they try to pull back out, they are going face first, which is the way they went through in the first place.

Not that I've ever had to use this trick....

I know it wasn't your kid - just giving general "head stuck in bars" advice.

The sdtranges thing our family saw and experienced was this past trip. there were two or three random families. One from England, that we talked to in line for Soaring, one famly who had a cute little girl who looked exactly like Boo from Monsters' inc and a family that we ended up talking to our last day there from South Africa.
the strange thing was, we kept seeing these same people everywhere we were. As big as Disney is and as diverse as our itinerary was, you'd think we'd never see the same people twice, but all of these folks would turn up everywhere we were. My two Ds's even split up from us on christmas day and went resort hopping. And DS was commenting that evening that they saw all three families at different points of their travel and we also saw all three families and Ds's were not in the same place the same times as we were. It was just odd.
I don't pay attention to what people are wearing and report here, because for all know, i could come on here and find someone posting about the lady with the Texas hoodie and the pink fuzzy crocs. That would be me!! I have no room to talk.

I have seen females (young to middle age) wear fleece lined Ugg boots and knee high vinyl (spiked heel) boots in the dead of summer. They have to be sweating like crazy, if not chaffing.

Probably the worse comes to mind is the woman changing her baby's diaper on a quick service dining table. If that does not make one think about where they eat, nothing will.

I was brought up around Mennonites and Amish too. (northern IN) Seems like many of them retired to Sarasota. There are probably a lot of Miller's, Yoder's, Troyer's and Hochstettler's there.
However I plan to make a trek down there soon to have some Amish cooking.

We felt so bad for the kids and it was incredibly rude behavior - of course, anyone who would speak to their own children that way is lacking in manners anyway. It was odd because it was not one isolated happening, but several families. We've stayed at all levels of resorts and it was our 3rd stay at POP, but we'd never encountered anything like that before.

Somehow any heavy boot in FL in the summer just don't seem like a good mix to me. Of course crocs looked hot when I first saw them too, and they aren't. But at least crocs are ventilated and good for the late afternoon showers.

No, but there were like 30 of them, gathered around, all being happy with their frappes from a dairy bar in big ole paper cups, the way God intended them to be. Bostonians have a lot of different cultures, as do NOLA and Houston and San Fran and LA and Seattle and NY and Bawlmer and Chicago and a multitude of American cities I've visited/lived in/worked in. But generally, in Boston, if you do not conform to Bostonian norms, you get stared at! And yes, yes, I do know this from personal experience, LOL! That's not a slam. Bostonian standards for dress and behavior are much easier for me to conform to than those of say. . .Baton Rouge or Houston! But I would have to say there are not a lot of Buddhist monks IN the better parts of Boston, Cambridge, Brookline, Newton etc. There are a LOT of Buddhist monks in Lynn (BFF's home!), Fitchburg (my old stomping grounds) and other towns with large immigrant populations. (Which is why we chose Fitchburg, honestly.)
