Strange Question about space to throw ball

We will be staying at AoA for two nights and then Poly for 7 nights. Our daughter will be missing a ton of softball and was asking if she can bring her glove to throw for half our even just a couple days. Figured someone might have the answer. Is there an open grass area that would allow us to throw for half hour at either of those resorts?

Thanks for the help

There the beach area at the Poly ( not the main beach by the pool but further down ) but I thought there was a post about bees nesting on the beach there so you might want to watch for that.

I'm not sure about Art of Animation.

Thanks. I'll check that out.

My first thought was over at All Star Sports. There are large, open areas between buildings (like the Football area) and I think that playing sports there is not unusual. You should find some open areas near AOA. There also appears to be some grass over near the Poly Bungalows.

There's what I think is an artificial grass area just outside the side entrance to Capt. Cook's that is closest to the Dole Whip spot.

Gosh - do I remember those days! Finding random fields so DH could throw to our catcher daughter a few times during our summer trips to Maine! LOL!

I was also going to say All Stars football field area. But I'm sure there are spots over at AoA, too.

DS and I bring our gloves /a baseball and throw on the Poly beach. There usually aren’t many/any people around most of the time and we can throw with some distance without bothering anyone. The beach area between Poly and GF is also a secondary option.

The sand is obviously a bit different for throwing/planting your feet, but it works for us just to get out and throw around.

The fake grass area outside the back of the GCH and Capt Cooks generally isn’t going to be ideal for serious throwing other than just small toss - small area, lots of foot traffic, etc, in my opinion.

There was a really large grassy area between the Lion King and LM sections of AoA. Don’t know if it’s as large as you need though. Maybe try looking on Google maps or something similar to get an idea of where grassy areas may be.

There are lots of grassy areas where you can throw a ball. If you look at the AoA map, you can see many grassy areas near the building and the walkways. There was at Pop where the resorts are built on similar plans.

Look at google maps.

Art of Animation has lots of large flat grassy areas you can use and be safe for others.

Poly is harder but there is a couple grassy spots between Poly and GF right at the Poly buildings.

Ok thanks everyone for the suggestions. She wants to practice a little pitching so I think I she’d feel embarrassed if she did it in an area with larger crowds so the grassy areas of AoA might be a good idea. Even if she just does 20 minutes twice during our trip since we are gone 11 days

Directly behind the Nemo building is a great spot. No one really walks on the grass there and it's not well traveled so she should be able to get in 30 minutes here and there.

And the spot near the volleyball net would be perfect. Try it in the morning for a solid 30 minute practice

For grass areas, there are grass areas east of Tokelau around Pago Pago. It’s a bit out of the way so out of heavy traffic. Another area is in front of Aeotearoa before Luau Cove. A bit more heavily travelled.
