Strange Error

Wow ... never seen this message before... something about player 19 (or something) .... than purging and booted off VMK!! What the

Okay, I tried logging back on and this is exactly what it said "Out of memory while displaying a sprite, even after purging all pureable castmembers." Am I banned???

No. It's a problem with Shockwave, I believe.

Just close out the window and open back up.
Of course, now you have to wait til tomorrow to log back in.

Good news: I'm 99.9% sure you aren't banned.
Bad news: No clue what to tell you to do to fix that.

I got that same error off and on starting a couple months back, possibly as early as October, I can't really remember. My last go round with that error was in December. Got it every time I tried to enter the Music Mix room, and then I had to close out VMK and log back in. I couldn't even enter that room for at least 2 weeks. It magically went away maybe a week ago when the rooms needed to reload on my computer. Occasionally unplugging my computer overnight and then plugging it back in the next day fixes my issues with the game or the room; at least for me, it sometimes forces my computer to reload the game and the rooms (a process that takes me hours with dial-up). My best guess is when my computer is reading the code for the rooms or games, sometimes something goes wonky and the code gets read wrong, and therefore the room or game doesn't load properly or at all.

I don't know what to tell you other than the above. Maybe someone else more technically inclined can give you better advice. Hope it starts working soon!

maybe uninstall, reboot the computer, and reinstall?

I have some other tech-savvy stuff but it takes a little bit to explain what to do.

It was a "shockwave" error and it did happen when I went into the Music Mix. Since my hubby is in IT Project Management, I hollered at him and asked what the heck it was Being the smarty that he is, he says "and your asking me this why?" I got up from my computer and whomped him on the head Then he said "you probably need to reboot" but did *I* listen to him? Heck no!! I just started closing programs and got back on Go me

That was a strange one though!!

Huh. So that makes at least two of us who have had that problem with the Music Mix room. Me thinks I need to fire up an email to the Black Hole tomorrow when I can think clearly enough to explain this. I thought it was just me and my psycho computer at it again.

Well - my rule of thumb is, if anything goes wrong, I whomp my husband on the head! It may not fix things, but it makes me laugh! (and laughter is always a good thing!)

Or, you could just Blame Speed!
