Strange DME and car rental question

We are currently signed up for DME but I got a fantastic rate on a car rental today. My question is, can you put the DME luggage tags on your suitcases but NOT actually get on the bus? Will your luggage still be delivered to the resort?

We are going to have a ginormous amount of luggage and it would be awesome to not have to deal with it all, especially since I can't lift anything over 15 lbs.

Has anyone ever done this?

Thoughts, opinions or comments please.

Duh! I totally read the other 2 DME sticky's but didn't even see the one the deals solely with my question!
