Strange colored Christmas trees

Was in a store today that seemed to have quite a few artificial trees left. Some were "normal" but was surprised to see colored artificial trees - they had orange, black, and red left. Yeah, nothing says Christmas like an orange or black tree lol! Has anyone seen one of these decorated in someone's house? Do they look as fugly as they do plain and undecorated in the store?

I was one of these "Christmas trees are green and green is the colour of Christmas trees" people. I don't mind various colours but only in store displays or something, don't like them in houses. Well, this is my last year in this house and my brother purged the basement (it's my parents' house) and gave away all of MY Christmas stuff that was there so I just bought some makeshift stuff to do me this year. My boss was unpacking a purple tinsel tree (small, maybe 1'high, for a tabletop), fibre optic with attached balls. Good enough. I'll get something else next year.

Orange for the Oregon Beavers.

Black or red for the Portland Trailblazers.

Does not seem odd at all to me. Quite a few where I live.

My Dad has a lime green tree for Tinker Bell ornaments, a purple tree for Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments. He also has a small red tree with random Disney ornaments. I think he has a black tree which is used for Halloween, and I think he also has a pink tree. Growing up, we had a large white tree too. I liked to decorate it with blue lights. Most of these were from the Disney Store. My Mom worked there, and when they closed the store she brought a lot of things home. He has, I think 21 trees up this year, so there are plenty of "normal" trees too.

I have a purple & white tree which is for University of Washington ornaments.

He has 21 trees up just for Christmas?? In his house? Wow! He definitely has the Christmas spirit!!

It's something we've done since 1985ish. The most I think my parents ever had was 42. They range from 2 feet to 8 feet, with lights, garlands and ornaments. Our old family home was a big Victorian, but his current home doesn't have as much living space so he could maybe get up to 25. This year, we lost my Mom so he was a bit apprehensive about doing the decorating himself, but it turned out to be a positive experience for him. He invited friends and members of a Disney Club over and so that gave him some better connections with people and everyone had a good time.

Good for him!! Quite impressive!
My condolences on the loss of your mom.

My kids each have a tree in their rooms. DD11 has purple, DD7 has pink, and DS has blue. We also did an orange tree for Clemson this year in our loft.

I have a black Christmas tree with fiber optic lights at the tips of some of the needles that change colour. Once it's decorated it actually looks quite nice. The nice thing about black is that it goes with any colour, so nothing clashes. And the fiber optic lights are pretty, as well. When I have people over, they always comment on how nice my tree looks.

I've always wanted a black tree. With purple lights. Still have a bit of the goth in me!

I wanted a little light blue one for DS this year but I couldn't find one. For all of his "Baby's First Christmas" ornaments.

I have a 3 foot red one that I put up on the overhang area that you see when you enter our house. It looks pretty filled with white ornaments. I've always wanted a black one for Halloween to put my Halloween Cross Stitch Ornaments on but my husband has veto'd that.

I keep looking for a small 3 foot black one instead and haven't found one in our area yet. I'm going out this afternoon to do some after Christmas shopping so maybe I'll get lucky and find one.

I bought a 4 foot black tree at a Super size Walmart two weeks before Christmas. They also had a 6 to 7 foot one. Maybe it's still available online.

My black tree has white, gray, and silver ornaments on it, and silver garland. I found a gothic looking tree topper at Walmart too, but it's too heavy for a small tree. I'll save it for next year.

I have never seen a black or orange one. But I would love a purple one for a table.

I have a white one. I bought it on a whim on sale at Walmart, feel in love with it and got rid of the green tree. I plan on getting a bigger more fleshed out white one for next year. I tried and tried to find the old aluminum ones that had the colored lights that shined on them (my granny had one in the 60) but the closest I could come was white. Black sounds interesting.
