Please help me formulate a strategy for getting a campsite for Thanksgiving weekend. I called yesterday to make a reservation and was only able to get 4 days at the beginning of the week. I checked the internet today and saw that a partial hookup site is available for the week, but I really want full hookup. Is it better to call or keep checking the internet? I have a backup reservation at Pop Century but really want to go to Fort Wilderness. What are my chances of getting a site? BTW I did make a reservation for the first 4 nights so I only need 3 nights at the end.

Call every morning at 7am

Bunny,

It's better to call. Don't give up, you're bound to get a reservation. The computer automatically cancels out all ressies that deposits are received for at midnight.

Good luck!

Check the internet at different times each day. We pieced together 2 weeks last April. Everytime I went on I would find different availability. My sister and I could go on at the same time and find different days available. Just keep checking. As it gets closer you will also find more things open up, because people cancel there ressies.

Also, try booking for more days than you need. Especially weekend nights. It seems they want to keep sites/rooms open for folks for longer stays. Many times I have plugged in one or two nights to find NO availability. Plug in 4 or more nights, then BOOM, they have availability.

After the reservation is made and deposit is sent, I then call back later and cancel the extra nights.

Carol
