Hey...I'd love any comments on the Character breakfast in the GCH. It looks resonable in $$ but how's the atmosphere and the Food????

Thanks so much....we leave on Friday:)

The restaurant and the food were excellent but we had better character interaction and (no offense Brer Fox!) better characters at Minnie's. We enjoyed it though!

Have fun

Em

We love Storytellers - and always go back! I think it's just like everything else, to each his own. The characters at Stortellers are some of our family favorites, like Chip, Dale, Koda, and Kenai. I have a fabulous memory of my 1 year old all snuggled up in Koda, and it was just delightful! The food is good. the atmosphere fairly calm, and we've always been impressed with the time the characters have spent with us.

We've done Goofy's, Minnie's and Storyteller's, and the only one we will be repeating is Storyteller's! It is the best food (you can order off the menu), service is awesome, and the atmospere is very low-key and calm compared to the chaos at the other character breakfasts. We loved the character interaction we had. We had Chip & Dale, Timon, Koda, Kenai and and the racoon from Pocohontas (whose name escapes me at the moment). They all took LOTS of time with us and didn't feel rushed to run off. They actually returned to our table several times for more hugs.

I give Storyteller's a big, BIG :thumbsup2

Love Storytellers. The greatest Eggs Benedict ever and my husband is still talking about the bacon. We have always ordered off the menu rather than buffet and I think the food is better that way. It's not like I could eat any more than I get - it just makes the server happier if you order buffet. It's more relaxed at Storyteller's but not the same glitz of characters as Goofey's. We usually do all three Lilo, Goofy, and Storytellers - but my adult fav is Storytellers. We also never make a PS ahead - just put our name in and wait. It's never that long but maybe it's the time of morning we go :confused3 .

Hey everyone...thanks for the info from all of you. We have four adults going (it's our Diva weekend) so the character interaction isn't too important to us. It sounds like we'll have a great meal!!!

This is also my favorite character breakfast. Last Sunday, my dd & I had breakfast with Califgirl & Tink33 at Lilo & Stitch Breakfast at PCH Grill (Paradise Pier Hotel). Afterwards, I asked my dd, Kelly, which she preferred: Lilo & Stitch, Goofy's Kitchen, or Chip & Dale Critter breakfast, and she also chose Storyteller.

I did a little report with pics that you can read here:

The food was good, very much the same as what we ordered at the Lilo and Stitch breakfast the day before. I think it really depends on what kind of family you are. I KNOW this will come across wrong, guarantee it... but here goes.

Lilo and Stitch was :rotfl: FUN! :rotfl: Just plain fun! A Hawaiian shirt kind of place.

Storytellers was very :snooty: nice :snooty: . Just plain nice, and quiet, and sort of uneventful. A sweater tied over the shoulders kind of place.

Our food was similar at both places. (PLUS Paradise Pier let our kids split a waffle, and each plate looked beautiful with berries and flowers! Couldnt tell we were trying to be cheap at all! )

We are character meal junkies. We do Storytellers for the character meal almost every time. The food is good - you can do buffet or menu. If your child is into animals - this is a place to go! Morgan loves bears and you will see bears here!!! They have a really neat little congo line and do some get down and play games for the kids, which I love!

I'm with teacups. I thought the food was similar to Lilo & Stitch's. Both equally good. I couldn't say that one was better than the other. The character interaction was subdued, not energetic like Goofy's or Lilo's. We've eaten here 3 times for breakfast and had issues with service 2 of the 3 times. We found it very convenient to eat here when we stay at GCH, but I don't think I"d go out of my way to have breakfast there again.

One thing I do have to say I love about Storyteller's is the eggs. My daughter and I like things plain - cheese is okay but we don't like the chives, etc. in our eggs. I was so relieved to not have to pick things out of her eggs at Storyteller's. But then again, that's a personal picky thing!

The food is the best at Storytellers hands down!!!!! I went on an all girls trip, and we are all grown up, but had an absolute blast with the charcters, and the service was top notch.

we are still talking about how great the food is here, compared to the one they serve in the DL hotel.

Don't miss it!

So, if you aren't staying at the hotel, how long of a walk is it from the gates of DL? I'll be staying on harbor and may consider doing this -- but not if the walk is extremely long.

Does anyone know how late of a seating you can get for breakfast?

probably 10 min walk...easy enough through downtown disney, but still a bit of maze when you get in the hotel.

Lol DisneyJenn - so Goofy mac & cheese and peanut butter & jelly pizza isn't on your list of grown-up favs? lol...I know, feel the same way!

Walk from hotel to DL - such a piece of cake - usually takes us about 15 minutes but we meander and window shop. Longer if the little one decides she wants out of her stroller. It's such a nice walk though - no matter how bad your feet are hurting, even by the 5th day, I still want to do that walk!

My DH and I loved Storytellers! We stayed at the GC on our trip in January, and had breakfast there on our departure day.

We got the buffett, as we wanted to try a little of everything. DH raved about the eggs benedict, and I had the best made to order omelet ever!! Plus I had a dish I loved, and can't remember what it's called, but it's steak simmered in a tomato-based broth, it was yummy! If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please let me know what it's called so I can look for recipies!

We are definitely going back during our trip in October! I talked DH into staying the the GC again! :cloud9:

Hey all...we had a great breakfast there on our visit. Thanks to everyone who replied; your input was appreciated! We'll definately return!

We just got back today and we did Storyteller's yesterday for breakfast. The food was excellent and the service was average. Character interaction was not as good as Goofy's by far. There was about a 20 min. period where only one character was on the floor. We waited about 30 min. for Koda and finally our waiter went and got him so we could leave. Food is better than Goofy's but we will go back to Goof's for the character interaction. We did have a nice low key breakfast.
