Stormalong Bay

That is a good link, pics are kind of dull but very thourough. At night it is really neat as well. Also the tube / swim area is 8 feet deep which is rare to have in a WDW pool.:fish:

Thanks to both of you.

As to the he/she I have finally just given up correcting that, and my manliness is not insulted. The nickname, Sammie, is one my Grandmother labeled me with for Samuel. She thought it was cute, and it stuck.

Just want you to know, the first time I saw your posts, I thought you were male!:rotfl2: My husband's name is Kelly and people always think he is a she (on paper!) He says that he has a girls name!:dance3:

Professionally I usually go by Sam, which does not help much either.

There is kiddie slide across the path over by the entrance to the main slide. There is actually a small pool over there with a small slide. I've spent many a night in there with my youngest DS. He loves that slide. The nice thing about it is you can sit in the pool and get a great view of the high fireworks from IllumiNations. :thumbsup2

That is the slide I know. I hated having to go over there and thought I missed one on the main side.

What no one else mentioned is how coooooooooold it can be . I was there last January, and the only pool we would go in is the small one across the way. The sun shown on that one and heated it nicely. Of course, if your going in July this is a mute point.:beach:

Tony, if Bill has WMDs, I'm not sure I'd want to be getting into trouble. Just a little advice.

Crisi, Crisi, Crisi.....

WMD=WebMasterDoc.

Hehehehehhehehe

The best thing about SAB is it draws the mobs away from other Epcot area resorts and pools. Let people stack themselves like cordwood and wait in horrendous lines for snacks over at BC -- while we chuckle at them from our BW view balcony across the lake.:thumbsup2

Yeah.....well.....welll......well, at least we don't get the "pool hoppers" the BWV's do. And, my big brother could beat up your big brother.....and, your mother smells funny!!!

:rotfl2:

Sammie....you're a BOY!!!!!:scared1: Man, I am SOOO shocked!!!! I feel like I have lost a girfriend!!!!:sad1:

For the record I did NOT post this even though there is a little something familiar in there.:rotfl2:

I don't see how it draws anyone away from the Epcot Resorts. No pool hopping there and I've seen actual enforcement of that policy. Now that was a chuckle watching the family of free loaders escorted from the pool. :lmao: I asked the CM about it and I was told they were staying at All Stars. Nice free upgrade they attempted.

As far as the line at BC..... at least that pool serves food unlike the oold pre-made sandwiches at Leaping Libations. Oh yeah sorry, they have Hot Dogs.

So, how often does the pool close, and at what time?

That is a good question! At the other resorts we have stayed at, we could swim anytime. We just couldn't use the, slide because of no lifegaurd on duty. But I'll bet it doesn't work that way at BCV.

You're right....you cannot swim at SAB when it is closed. That's what the quiet pools are for.

As for the hours, they vary by season. We have been there many times in the summer when the pool closes at 10pm, at other times of the year, I have seen the pool closing at 8pm...I don't think I have seen it close earlier than that.

However, I don't think I have ever seen it open earlier than 10am...I could be wrong on that one, though....I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it opens at 9 in the summer. The best thing to do would be to call the resort before you arrive, or check with the desk upon arrival.

Thanks! We always go in the summer and go swimming after we close the parks down!:rolleyes1 We are kind of dye hards!:rotfl: :rotfl: As long as we can take a quick dip somewhere, we'll be fine!

I don't see how it draws anyone away from the Epcot Resorts.[/QOUTE].

? Read these boards and all you see is BC fixation, 90% due to SAB. Translation: a huge % of the DVCers who don't own at BC or BWV who are looking to stay in the Epcot area inevitably swarm to BC- which is why it always feels so crammed over there, with a 25+ minute wait for B- ice cream in the summer. We over at BWV don't miss that or the crowds.

Oh, please....food at the Boardwalk blows BC away. I don't see most people using LL for anything other than drinks. Not surprising, given we have Big River (best beer in the whole area, and also some great beef), a fun place to watch a game while eating (ESPN), incredible seafood (the Flying Fish), a wonderful trip to Europe and parts of the mid east in the form of Spoodles (which by the way offers one of the best breakfasts at WDW, it's the "sleeper" of early dining at Disney World) and - if you want a nice snack -- one of the best bakeries on property, which also delivers nice ice cream and candy.

Across the lake? Two slow service coffee shops, an overpriced so-so steak house and a cute but ridiculously overloaded walk up (when Disney appended BCV -- and thousands of additional guests -- to the back of an existing resort, they didn't add any dining capacity. Dumb, dumb, dumb...)

But ignore me please - and keep promoting the BC/SAB!!!!

I dont think its 90% SAB, if it (BCV) wasn't next to EPCOT I dont think it would be as desireable-closer to 35%? But that said not staying at BC/BCV will not get you into SAB-its private and you cannot pool hop there. I would guess the BWV pool is hopped to much more than SAB. Also 750,000 gallons (SAB) will hold a lot more guests than 190,000 gallons (LUNA) so it really never is that crowded if you swim back in different areas. Add in all the beach area and it really accomodates a lot of folks.

We love BWV as well but honestly consider it and the dining part of BCV since it is connected. When we stay at BWV we always walk over to Beaches and Cream 2 or 3 times (and wish we could jump in SAB by the way).

I tell you, watching Illuminations while sitting in the pool at SAB is one of my FAVORITE activities!!! It is truly a million dollar view!!!

Enjoy!!!!

We just returned from Stormalong Bay. It is a great place, but honestly, we didn't use it any more than any other pool. The hours are short, like most feature pools, from 10-8 when we were there, which are prime park hours. We actually spent more time at Dunes Cove, the quiet pool, because we like to swim early and late. It's funny, because when we are at Boardwalk, my kids (older, 16, 20, 21) are sad that we can't pool hop there, and yet they don't really use it that much!

O.K. Whats the The No Way Jose?

No Way Jose - a peanut butter and hot fudge delight with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, peanut butter and chocolate morsels, whipped cream and a cherry $7.99
