Stormalong Bay questions

Captain,

I plan on calling over the weekend to ask? Just out of curiosity? I'll post their response.

We just got back Thursday from BCV and from what we saw, you can pick one up in the afternoon. Apparently they aren't getting returned always and are just left around. The same with those green buckets and blue shovels. Every morning they were everywhere. I think they came as part of a kids meal from Hannahs. It was actually a source of comedy one morning. DD7, DS6, DD4 were playing in the pool and had picked up some of these buckets. They were everywhere and only 2 other families there by this time. Anyway, the 2 oldest went off to another pool while the 4 yr old played with a bucket in the sand. One other child was playing with one on the opposite side of the pool. DD4 went over past this child by the hot tub between the kiddie pool and lazy river and sat it down on the side of it with 2 shovels in it. I got in the lazy river and went around once with the older ones and when I got out I saw 2 buckets sitting there, one with 2 shovels, that I didn't know we had, and one empty so I picked up the empty one and headed back to the other side of the pool, tossed the bucket to DD4, and went and sat down. A few minutes later, a lady comes walking across the pool yelling "Sir, sir" and she's carrying a green bucket. As she gets close I can hear what she's saying. "Sir, your daughter picked up my daughters bucket and I have yours." I'm standing there with a puzzeled look  on my face at the green bucket my DD has now filled with sand and the green bucket this lady is wading across the pool to swap with me and yelling. She gets over and reaches out with the green bucket to me so I reach down and grab the one DD was playing with, dump the sand out, and hand it to her. I told her they were identical and she took it and started wading back to the other side saying something about how her child has already lost something else and I'm still standing there holding a green bucket that looks just like the one I handed her and the dozen or so she walked past to get to me. Oh well....

As for the tubes, I saw both kinds but none from anywhere else and never more than a few at a time and always in the lazy river. The one time I wanted to put DD4 in it somewhere else was at the big whirrling pool(don't know what to call it) at the exit to the big slide. There were too many people in there so I didn't do it.

Hey, MB186, I know what was going on there. That lady had a child who was absolutely coming UNGLUED because he/she was sure that your child had their green bucket. I used to have a kid like that, thank God she's outgrown that phase. Diana

If I'd have thought about it, I'd have put them both behind my back and "shuffled them up and then held them out. :D

The other funny thing is, she gained 2 shovels in the deal but gave them back with "my" bucket.

mb168,
That lady must have a 2 year old. My oldest wan't like that, but my 2 year old now... Well, let's just say she is going through the terrible twos......................... Unfortunately, I would have totally understood that woman! LOL

We were at SAB in April with our 3 GC. We were trying to find someone to pay to rent the tubes. Finally found someone and they told us to just take any one we could find. This was fairly early afternoon. This held true every day we were there. Evidently everything was rented early in the day and by the time we were ready to use them they were free if they were available.
