While googling whether Universal's new disability pass process using IBCCES is in violation of the ADA, I came across this lawsuit regarding Six Flags requiring fingerprints for entry. I know that Universal also uses this system. Now I'm curious at to why Universal is allowed to collect our biometric information? Does anyone have any insight into this? https://capitolnewsillinois.com/NEW...llion-settlement-over-alleged-bipa-violations

I don’t have an answer on that, it just doesn’t always work right. I carry ID, but I wish they would go back to using photos.

First of all, the Six Flags lawsuit was tied to violations of an Illinois biometrics law. There is no federal law preventing theme parks from collecting biometrics information.

Second, even in Illinois, it is still permissible to collect biometrics data — however, Six Flags was doing it wrong and didn’t get the necessary permissions required by the Illinois law.
