Stops off I-95 NC, SC, GA

I know this has been done, but am planning specifically now. DH wants to push straight through and maybe that will happen. BUT...I want to be prepared to stop in case we really need it!

If you go to the dis home page, click on Transportation--listed on the left hand side of the page. On the transportation page there are links to I-95 and the exits in NC, Sc, etc that list gas stations, hotels, restaurants--I found it very helpful in planning our trip.

What ever you do don't wait til the last minute to stop or you might not get the hotel you want. We plan our stops months in advance and book rooms according. You wouldn't believe the people I've seen turned away at the hotels at 7pm because they are already totally booked. I am picky about or hotels and wouldn't be caught dead sleeping in a Ramada or Days Inn so if mind where you sleep then think very hard about waiting til you are tired to look for a room. You can book a room at most leading hotels and have til 6pm that day of check in to cancel and get a full refund. At least that way you can have something to fall back on.
