Stopping Alerts to "Watched Threads"

Simple question really, how do i stop receiving alerts to a thread that i have been "deemed" to be watching? I took all of the threads i have posted to off of my "watched list" The one that is driving me crazy is a resort thread. I'm getting alerts every time i sign on. No biggie I guess, but it takes me forever to get into my alerts to see & and then clear them. Used to a simple issue of clicking the number that shows up under "Alerts" but now i need to go into my profile page to clear them out.

At the top, right of the page, hover over your username. Click on "Alert Preferences". There you can check (or un-check) whatever alerts you want to receive (or not receive).

Are you sure the thread isn't tagged as "Watched"? You can "Unwatch" at the top of the thread, to the right just above the first post, click on the word "Unwatch".

Thanks for the help gang but in true DIS form it has corrected itself without me doing anything. When i signed on last night around midnight i was still getting the alerts. This morning they're gone AND i know that there are posts on the resort thread i'm a part of. However it happened, i'm a happy camper now (doesn't take much, i really should get out more )
