Wow, you're putting me to shame with the speed and depth of your updates! I'm really enjoying the report, Christopher. :thumbsup2

You and I are peas in a pod: every time we're down there, I make up some excuse to head over and visit the Wilderness Lodge, just to soak in the atmosphere. My favorite hotel in the whole world.

I'm disappointed about the September closing date for Star Tours, too. My kids have just become interested in Star Wars, and have never ridden it. Looks like they'll miss out this year. :sad1:

Ummm....this guy is wearing a kilt and it doesn't even get a mention? How does that slip by? :rotfl2:

Nice work so far.

Happy to help, whenever I can there Mark! :rotfl: Thanks for joining in the fun, and reading along. I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far. I hope the rest can live up to your now pre-set expectations. ;)

Oh, yeah - it's definitely on the do list every time now. You'll just have to check back again and see. Did I return to the Lodge again this trip? Or not?

Well that is a bummer. I just read this morning over on one of the websites I follow that there are now supposed to be 2 different scenarios for STII - one doing the podracing thing, and the other going to Coruscant (between Episodes III & IV). Interesting. Now if only they'd announce a third option... keeping the original as well as the new ones... hmmm. I wish. Oh - and what I'm bummed about for September... the our dates couldn't line up. Now that's a DIS meet I'm really looking forward to.

Well Barry, I've said it before - I'm just not as witty as you are. :worship: I distinctly remember, however, looking at the guy as he was walking to the turnstiles and thinking that he was quite comfortable with himself to go around in public that way. But then, we've also had kilts in our Boy Scout Troop for a camporee one year (the theme was Highland Games & All things Scottish) - so I also didn't really think it was all that strange after seeing a whole bunch of Scouts and adult leaders in them... in the wintertime for that camporee. Plus there were so many people in costumes last year for SWW when I was there with my boys, I guess it just didn't strike me as odd.

But in reality, all of that is backstory that I didn't share... so yeah, I probably should have mentioned it in some witty way. But alas. I did not. Perhaps I'll need some zinger training from the master before I attempt another one of these TR's... :confused3 :rotfl2:

Sunday morning I was up even earlier than Saturday, simply because of what I figured I wanted to do while sitting in the room Saturday night. Sunday was an EMH Morning at Epcot. I knew I wanted to ride Soarin' (I've loved since the very first time I rode it in February 2001 at DCA - and was so thrilled when it opened at WDW in 2005). BUT, I had also considered getting wet and hit Typhoon Lagoon. I knew I wanted to get to DTD at some point as well, and of course I had the MSEP later that evening. Choices, choices. But the beauty of traveling solo is - you don't have to weigh anyone else's opinions or desires. I don't mind hopping around, but as I've said previously, my DW does mind. SO - I figured I'd just do whatever as it came up, but I would definitely start out at Epcot.

P6060012.jpg

Epcot was opening at 8, so in order to be sure to be there on time, especially considering my luck with the buses the day before, I left the room at little before 7. I chose to walk down to the Millers Rd. stop again, since I really didn't want to tour OKW on the bus, even if it was sitting in the a/c. It was warm already, but not deathly hot, so walking down a bit further didn't bother me. By about 7:15 my bus arrived, and I was on my way.

Upon arrival at Epcot, however, I could not just breeze through the "no bags" gate, since I had my backpack with me. Yep, I'd decided to go to TL after Epcot, but didn't want to wear my trunks around all day, so I had to have a change of clothes handy. But I really wanted to hit Crush-n-Gusher again (it'd been about 3 years - our last family trip didn't include a water park at all, but the one prior was to BB so it's been a little bit). So I didn't mind carrying the bag with me.

I quickly got into the line up behind the rope in front of the turnstiles. Not too bad, I was only about 3 people behind the rope - of course it was about 30 people wide. But hey, by the time they actually droped the rope at 7:59 so we could move to the turnstiles, that area was more like 40 people deep.

I breezed through and then quickly made my way up to...what's this...another rope. Oh yes, the attraction CM's were walking out to the rope to escort the morning's guests in at a very casual walking pace (no cutting ahead of them... hey you, slow down) to usher the guests in to either Soarin', Test Track, or Mission Space. My goal was of course Soarin', and then Test Track. And I needed to eat some breakfast. Which I did, in the Seasons CS place after my flight. As always, I loved Soarin - BUT - and I was a bit disappointed about this - there were some pretty bad specks all over the film in various places. They really need to take it down for a rehab and do a good cleaning of the films. I was on the right hand side theatre, so I can't speak to what the left hand side one is currently like - but what a big distraction they were. Such a shame, especially for those guests who've never seen it before, or don't get to go and see it as often as I do. :sad2:

Breakfast was good. I have never eaten breakfast in the Seasons location before. Lunch yes, but breakfast no. The selection was nice, and the food was actually tasty. And getting 2 drinks for breakfast on the QSDP was cool - so I got a nice cold bottled water to go, and enjoyed a big chocolate milk with my food. Mmmmmmm.

I then walked over to Test Track, and breezed right in. The Standby line said 20 min. The Single Rider line said 20 min. The CM saw that I was alone. He said they really were six of one, half a dozen of the other. Whichever I wanted. I opted for the Single line, and lo and behold, breezed right through the pre-ride film room. I was on the ride in less than 3 minutes. Not too shabby! :thumbsup2 (I love TT, and riding it again, coupled with all of the stuff I'm reading and pics I'm seeing for the DCA redo, it sure makes me very excited for the new Radiator Springs Racers in the new CARSLAND coming in
'12 - basically TT 2.0 - it's looking pretty cool).

So my day in Epcot was no over. I'd done what I set out to do. It was now 8:50, and Crush-N-Gusher was calling to me. So I set my feet facing north, and headed for the exit. It was kind of funny seeing some of the strange looks people were giving me as I was exiting as they were just going in, but big whoop. I quickly proceeded over to the bus area to determine my best route for getting to TL. I knew I needed to land on the DTD/TL bus line, but of course you can't get to DTD from the theme parks... so which resort bus should I choose?!? Hmmm. POP? SSR? Port Orleans? Caribbean Beach? What do you know... as I was walking up to the bus area - there was a sign telling people which resorts to choose from in order to get to DTD or the water parks. WOW - I was right on 3 of my choices. The sign said POP, SSR, POR or the All-Stars. Well I knew I didn't want to go to the All-Stars - too far in the other direction. Bus time is fine and all - but not when you want to do a LOT in single day, and I did.

So I chose the POR bus, for no other reason that it was there! I quickly hopped on, and the driver was perplexed asking me if I needed to go back to the resort. I said no, and where I was headed and he said, yep, I'm in the right spot. So we were off, just he and I. We chatted and had a nice ride. (No new bus driver rumors to report however...) In about 10 minutes we pulled in to POR. And I then proceeded to wait another 10 minutes before the DTD/TL bus arrived. A quick stop over to the French Quarter side, and then we were on our way. After about 10 minutes we pulled in to TL's parking lot. It was, despite a very hot day, a relatively empty parking lot. A CM told me that typically people (not using the buses) don't show up until around 10 or so. Why I don't know, but whatever. If I had to drive in to the World, as I have in the past, I would want to be there when they opened...but that could just be me.

My DW and I first went to TL on our honeymoon - so it holds a special place in my heart. We loved the Shark Encounter, and the wave pool. Growing up in So Cal and going to the beaches regularly, with some incredible natural wave action, that wave pool has always fascinated me. I just think it's so very cool. :thumbsup2

Got myself a new WDW beach towel (didn't need one, but wanted one), and then hit Crush-N-Gusher. 3 times in a row. It was awesome. I can't wait to experience the new Dream next year and go on the Aquaduck! My DW is not so sure, but I am! It just looks so very cool. After a quick trip around the lazy river - even though it was only about 10:15ish, I decided I was done at TL, and went to change and freshen up.

Oh - and what I'm bummed about for September... the our dates couldn't line up. Now that's a DIS meet I'm really looking forward to.

Yeah, that stinks. I hope we'll make it work one of these days. We are tossing around the idea of a Midwest road trip next summer... :rolleyes1

Well Barry, I've said it before - I'm just not as witty as you are. :worship: I distinctly remember, however, looking at the guy as he was walking to the turnstiles and thinking that he was quite comfortable with himself to go around in public that way.

I just hope you didn't ride TOT with this guy! :scared1:

My cousin just got married and wore a full kilt as the groom (he is of Scottish descent). It was an...interesting...look.

Nice! :thumbsup2 I haven't heard much about the Carsland plans. Sounds like something my sons will be begging to try.

It was kind of funny seeing some of the strange looks people were giving me as I was exiting as they were just going in, but big whoop.

That's definitely when you try to pull off the "I own the place" strut. :rotfl2:

TL is one of the few attractions at WDW I haven't tried yet. Do you prefer it or BB (I'm guessing TL since it has a sentimental attachment)? Crush-N-Gusher looks really fun. Are the drops huge? You know how much I love big drops. :scared1:

I definitely love BB, and I love TL too. Both have some really cool stuff. Sure TL does have that sentimental aspect, but I actually like the theming at BB better, since BB is not your usual tropical theme there in Florida. I love the ski lift and the entire family adores the family raft ride Teamboat Springs. I kind of like the lazy river at BB better, and I love the Tobaggan run. And, we definitely saw that our DD prefers BB's Tike's Peak to Ketchakiddee Creek. BUT at TL I really dig the Shark reef encounter, Crush-N-Gusher and a couple of the slides at TL better. So, in reality - I like them both.

great report and pics :thumbsup2. we just got back a couple weeks ago and miss the world already.

So after a quick trip around the lazy river - even though it was only about 10:15ish, I decided I was done at TL, and went to change and freshen up. I then proceeded to leave the park, but not before stopping at a vendor cart and got myself one of my favorite frozen treats - an Itzakadoozie! I LOVE those things. Friday night I had a Mickey Premium bar in honor of my DW (who loves those), but Sunday morning, it was all about the Itzakadoozie. Mmmmmmmmmm. I can almost taste it now just thinking back on it.

Again I passed an awful lot of people giving me strange looks as I was headed OUT while they were headed IN, but no biggie. I was now on a quest. I had a 1 pm time for the Member Gathering and TOTWL tour, and I really needed to see if I could make my desired route to BLT happen (I love it when a plan comes together).

Upon exiting TL, since it was still early in the morning, I knew that I could catch a direct bus to DTD, since they were still in the TL then DTD rotation, vs. the afternoons when they switch and hit DTD first. At this point it was pick a bus, any bus...but there were none to be had. So I just walked over to the OKW bus stop. I had my backpack, but really didn't want to be lugging it around with me. So I figured if an OKW bus came, I'd just go back to the resort and then see how my plans came together. But if a DTD bus came, then I'd be on that one in a heartbeat.

I sat down at the OKW stop, and what do you know happened, but a bus pulled in at the neighboring stop, and sure enough they were dropping off and then heading over to DTD. So that's the one I got on.

On the short ride over I watched as a lot of different people sat there texting who knows who, and others were plugged in to their iPods. Ugh. Call me old fashioned, but I just don't like seeing families sitting on a bus, and each one of them is texting someone. Exactly who are texting anyway? Sure there COULD possibly be someone that they are trying to meet up with at their destination... "Meet in front of Once Upon a Toy" - I get that... but come on, all 4 of them in the same family? At the same time? Texting friends back home what they ate for breakfast? Girlfriends or boyfriends left behind? Are they texting each other? - "This bus ride so boring." or "What should we do at DTD?" or "I hope I can find a new vinylmation I like". I'm sure it wasn't to each other though... You're on vacation people!!! You're supposed to leave some of the real world at home and have fun together. Sorry. Personal pet peeve rant over with. Back to the regular programming now.

Soon enough we were pulling in at the Marketplace.

At this time of day, of course, DTD is not a very hopping place. Personally I like it in the mornings. I like it in the evenings too, but it has such a different feel in the mornings. Kind of like wandering around the resorts. Generally pretty quiet and peaceful.

P6060015.jpg

Usually when I go to DTD, I have several stops that I love to make. The Art of Disney store, the Days of Christmas shop, the Rainforest Cafe (sometimes to eat, sometimes to shop), Once Upon a Toy, Pin Traders, Ghirardelli (love those free samples - sometimes love to get some ice cream), World of Disney, Basin (to see if there's anything to get for my DW), Lego, McDonald's (usually for the restroom and a beverage - a little crazy, I know)... but on this particular morning, I really only had one real destination and purpose for coming to DTD.

P6060016.jpg

Of course I could have simply gotten off the bus at the PI stop, but that would have ruined the fun of being there and soaking it all in, even if I wasn't planning on stopping along the way. Or would I? I can tell you that I definitely did NOT want any of the free Ghirardelli samples in that heat though.

I simply could not wait to try out "Characters in Flight". I really wanted to in January on our family trip... but no dice. I then also really wanted to on our anniversary getaway in March... but again no dice - it POURED, and POURED, and POURED some more.

But before I could get over there to the West Side, I passed by the bandstand, and saw a group of kids that were trying very hard to perform despite the already very, very hot, steamy morning. I just felt absolutely, positively, 100% terrible for these poor kids.

P6060017.jpg

P6060018.jpg

Sure they were singing their little hearts out... but come on... BLACK in triple digit temps?!? What brainiac determined the wardrobe selection when they were notified that they WOULD in fact be performing at WDW...in the summer. Black floor-length dresses. Long sleeve shirts for the guys. Come on. Not cool for either gender. They were trying, but their hearts just didn't seem in to it at all. After having been a part of numerous choir tours and concerts in my youth - I know what those poor kids have to put up with...and then factor the heat onto it. Ugh. My worst choir tour was on to an Indian Reservation in Arizona, in May...when the temps were 117, 118, 119. Now don't start saying, "but it's a dry heat in Arizona"... because it doesn't matter one bit... anything triple digits is just plain nasty. Especially when you have to wear a stupid tuxedo or floor length dress as our group had to, all those years ago in the 8th grade.

So anyway, after feeling miserable for those poor kids, and suddenly feeling hotter myself, I made a quick dash into WOD for some a/c, and see if there was anything I might like to acquire. I did find a couple of items, and proceeded to then completely fluster and flummox the poor cashier CM. She had never before seen the Premier Pass. I explained to her that yes, it is an AP. Yes, it is the top level. She still had to look it up. It was her first one. I felt special.

I continued to proceed down to the West Side, where CIF is located. I passed by what used to be a happy place, but sadly is no more. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about the upcoming Pollo Compero (not sure if I spelled the last part right or not), but like anyone else...we'll see.

Passing through Pleasure Island is still just so sad. I miss the Adventurer's Club. Kungaloosh. But I trudged on. I couldn't wait to get to the balloon.

:sad1:

You sure do get around! I'm a little sad to see the McDonalds go...if only because that was a great backup spot when my kids got freaked out at T-Rex! :rotfl2:

Let me just say it right now.... EXHILARATING.

That's exactly what I thought about "Characters in Flight". It was was awesome. But then I'm also one who loves going to the top of the Empire State Building and enjoying the view deck. Or riding to the top of the Space Needle. And going on the roller coaster at the top of Stratsophere in Las Vegas. But I'm getting a bit ahead of myself.

I approached the ticket booth, and was a bit dismayed. At least I kind of thought I was. I distinctly remembered that I had checked on the prices in January when we were at DTD, and at that time I could have sworn the price was $16. On this Sunday morning in June, it was $18. Maybe I was remembering wrong. Maybe I had read it wrong back in January. I can't say. But I wasn't going to let the mental difference of $2 stop me from taking my flight. I was pumped. I was ready. I had to wait. Just a few moments for the balloon to come down again, since it was currently, in flight.

P6060024.jpg

There were 3 people ahead of me in line on the platform, and 3 more came after me. That was it though for my ride. 8 in total with the pilot. We quickly boarded, and as were instructed, picked a spot and stayed there until we were at the top. Then we were free to move around and take all the pics we wanted to. Our pilot even graciously took pictures of each person or couple for them.

Here I am 400 feet in the air, overlooking all of WDW. He tried to get Epcot in the background, but you can definitely see DTD in the foreground better.

P6060033.jpg

Visibility that morning was good, but not fabulous. He said it was about 17 miles. On a clear day, he said, you could see about 35-40 miles. I've always loved (at least since it opened), picking out the various WDW landmarks from the lift hill of Expedition Everest...the MK and MK hotels are behind you, and then the Studios, and Epcot are off to your left. BUT ON THE BALLOON... you could see all of it, pretty much straight ahead.

I saw the snow-capped peaks of EE, and the top of the Tree of Life, the Swan & Dolphin, the TOT, Epcot, Miss Tilly over at TL, the Contemporary and BLT... various resorts, and of course below us was DTD. Behind us were other things that exist in Central Florida, but I really didn't bother looking that way.

Here is one of my home resorts, and the beloved rocking chairs by the water's edge there in Congress Park.

P6060040-1.jpg

Here's one of DTD below

P6060038.jpg

Here is Epcot

P6060035.jpg

Unfortunately my camera doesn't zoom as much as I would like it to, so I couldn't get the really far stuff very clearly so I didn't even bother to upload the one I got of the Contemporary/BLT because they were just too small. But here's one with part of Epcot, the Swan & Dolphin, TOT and way off in the distance is EE

P6060037.jpg

Here's one of what I call a "facebook pose" - where I took it myself, of me trying to capture Epcot in the background, but didn't really succeed - more of DTD than anything else really.

P6060049.jpg

I can't remember exactly how long we were up there, but it felt like about 10 minutes. It was very enjoyable, and I would love to do it again. I know I will, I am just not sure when yet.

Here's a view of the cable that tethers the balloon to the ground throughout the flight. It is a helium balloon, and the pilot showed and explained how they let some out out prior to when the cable starts reeling you back in again.

P6060056.jpg

Following CIF,

P6060058.jpg

I then started back up through Pleasure Island. But only half way. I was headed for the OKW boat. I knew that I didn't want to keep going the rest of the day with my backpack, so I had to drop it off.

Upon arrival at the dock, I was pleasantly surprised to see the boat there, waiting for me. There were about 5 people on board, and I quickly joined them. We sat for about 3 or 4 minutes, and then were off and on our journey. I love the boats at WDW. Have I said that yet? If not, I'll say it again. I love riding the boats. It's such a relaxing and enjoyable way to get around.

Upon arrival at OKW, I quickly went and put my backpack and WOD purchases in my room, and freshened up just a bit. Then I was off on my walking way back down to the Miller's Road bus stop once more. I debated with myself the entire way...do I wait for the MK bus, or do I hop and Epcot bus if I see it first. But thankfully, upon arrival at the bus stop, I didn't really need to make that call - as an MK bus pulled up not a moment later. Yay. Finally - no waiting for a bus!!!

Oh for a resort to resort bus transportation option though. I hated having to go beyond BLT, since that was where I was headed next. But alas, that's what I had to do. I got off at the MK bus area, and proceeded to follow the fence and path all the way around and proceeded to walk right back past where I just was moments before. In the blazing hot sun. For all those BLT fans that just love the short walk over to the MK (or back again)... sure it's not that long, but let me just say - phew - it seems to be nearly forever in triple digit heat, and direct sun! Ugh. I was so wishing I had opted to take the Monorail over...but duh, yeah, it doesn't go to BLT. I would have to walk the extra way over to the Monorail station, then talk the extra way from the Contemporary over to BLT. Then I looked up and saw that the Monorail train above my head was stopped. Obviously waiting on the one in the Contemporary to load up and leave its' station. I kept walking, and looked back several times. It was still there. Stopped. Waiting. Maybe I was not so sad with my choice after all?

P6060061.jpg

Ahh, the BLT. It just so reminds me of the tower that the Jeffersons moved on up to back in the '70's.

And the sleek monorail tracks coming from within the Contemporary.

P6060063.jpg

I was excited to finally be almost to BLT...to get out of the hot sun and into some a/c. I had been following a family taking the same walk over as I was doing. The 3 kids were all complaining about the heat. The mom kept reminding them to keep drinking. The dad just kept going. It reminded me so much of so many families... mine especially. The Dad (me) is there to keep things going and on track. The mom (my lovely DW) is the supporter and cheerleader, constantly reminding the rabble what they need to do, and the kids (the rabble) - constantly complaining about something! :rotfl:

I first saw the models for BLT at the preview center at SSR back in the later winter or early spring of 2009. Then the family got to see the while at a Doorway to Dreams event up in Chicagoland in late spring 2009. I'd been wanting to see the TOTWL lounge for quite some time - but since DW and the kids did not like the decor & stylings of BLT, there really didn't seem to be any reason to drag them all over there. Then last month we were at another Doorway event, and saw the models once again - just to be sure that we didn't want to get points at BLT. DW was sure. No need. Sure we might stay there sometime, but BLT left her feeling quite cold and, well, bored really. But this trip, being solo, I knew I wanted to at least go to be able to see the coveted lounge.

I did NOT like that you have to call someone to let you in to the building. Hello. You have multiple members coming over for a 1 pm Member Gathering and you can't station someone at the door to let them in? Bad, bad customer service there DVC. IMO, I think it's just plain stupid to have the building locked down as they do. Sure, lock down the pool, but the entire building?

P6060065.jpg

The lobby was kind of pretty, but contemporary stylings really aren't my cup of tea. It was really small too. I was surprised. I hadn't realized that the Contemporary and BLT would be so different...very much like Jambo House and Kidani Village... one is sweeping and and majestic - the other much smaller, more intimate, and really kind of crowded. Especially with the various members that were there for the gathering event. I'm not sure how many exactly were there, but probably about 30.

P6060069.jpg

P6060068.jpg

Here's a picture of the fountain that Fouding Members could get a tile on. Located right outside the lobby area. But since BLT guests don't check-in at BLT, I guess it's not really a lobby, but rather a foyer...

P6060072.jpg

The DVC folks broke us down into a couple of groups, and each group was led off to a different elevator bank to head up to the lounge.

Here's a view of the MK & Seven Seas Lagoon from the elevator lobby on the 16th floor.

P6060077.jpg

Inside the lounge. It's quite nice. Not very large at all.

P6060078.jpg

I loved the classic John Hench Monorail stylings from DL in the late '50's on the windows above the bar. This window faces Bay Lake. I'm sure it's got to be something at night time.

P6060080.jpg

Numerous tables and chairs of different heights and stylings line the curved window wall on the Magic Kingdom side of the lounge.

P6060082.jpg

P6060083.jpg

After the typical presentation and add-on pitch, we then were further divided once more to take a tour of the building. Here we were out on the outdoor patio area by the lounge.

I will admit the view is quite nice. I'm sure it's neat to be able to see the fireworks from the lounge. And someday, I do hope to be able to at least stay there. But yeah, after the tour, I personally have no need to own there. It just felt so very cold. Very institutional. Almost like a hospital. I kept waiting to see someone in white pushing a gurney down the hallway. I'm sorry - I know that a LOT of people love BLT. And I'm not trying to bash your resort (if you're one of those who do love it) - it just did nothing for me.

But here are a few more pics regardless. My only regret is that I did not get pics of the model rooms when we went back down to the first floor to see them.

The pool, from the 16th floor.

This one did successfully transport me away mentally from Florida (as other resorts have definitely done for me) - but sadly nowhere I wanted to be at that time...rather to New York City, or downtown Chicago, or Los Angeles.

Sorry. I'm being picky again. I know, I know... BLT does float a lot of people's boats... just not mine.

We then proceeded to go back inside and tour the models. At this point then the gathering was done. A few people did go to sit down with guides and others did not. I did not. But as a "thanks for coming", everyone was given those lovely little "immediate" fastpasses. Each person in the party got one good for 3 attractions - for up to 4 days from then. I didn't have a lot of time left in my trip, but I knew I'd be able to at least use one of them.

I then proceeded to go up to the 5th floor, so I could check out the funky bridge, and head over to the Contemporary.

I hadn't eaten lunch yet so I thought I'd just hit the Contempo Cafe, since it was right there. But alas, it was crowded!! I changed my mind, and headed downstairs. I was now on a mission. I needed lunch. I wanted to take a boat. And I was not yet ready to go over to the MK... so I figured I'd make a pit stop at one of my favorite places at WDW.

Sad to see the abandoned River Country just sitting there...so dejected

Wilderness Lodge - here I come!!!

You sure do get around!

I could never get away with such "flexibility" when my DW is there with me - at least for park days anyway. She doesn't mind moving from one location to another once in a while on non-park days, but nowhere near as much as this. And on park days, she doesn't really care to hop between parks either, unless there is just some super-duper reason for it and just really need to do so. My boys don't mind though, so we did move around more last year on our Father/Sons adventure. But by msyelf... oh yeah, I'll move around here, there any everywhere and not worry about it.

Last time I was there, my wife and I hopped around a little bit... usually ending up in WS to sample a beverage somewhere. She and my parents weren't quite as excited about hopping from place to place to see everything as I was though... I could really see myself having this type of experience if I ever have an opportunity for a solo weekend at the World. Ah.... the freedom to do what I want when I want...

Been reading some of your older reports as well, I really like the detail/opinions/pictures. Thanks for sharing!:thumbsup2

So the boat pulled in to the Wilderness Lodge. One of my very favorite places at WDW. I decided to have lunch there, and to just enjoy being there, soaking in the atmosphere once more.

Many of you will agree with me and many of you might disagree with me (which is perfectly okay by me) - but I do really love the thematic execution of the Wilderness Lodge. Personally I think they hit a home run with this one, and it has quickly become, as I've said, one of my favorite places at WDW. Even just for a visit and I definitely did this weekend. And as soon as we can find the right deal for us, I'd love to be adding points here into our DVC portfolio so we too can call it home. Until then, I'm happy to visit and get those 7 month reservations when possible.

After I ate my lunch, I just enjoyed being there, taking a ton of pictures, hanging out for about an hour and a half. It was awesome. But I'm going to shut up now and just let the pictures speak for themselves as DVC Mike does so well.
