Stop Using My Decorative Towels!!!

Yes, I am weird. When it was just me living here, I had some really cute Frozen towels. They were decorative, I didn't use them. When DH moved back in, I put them away because I didn't want him touching them :rotfl:

Ohhhh, and after reading the post just above the one I just typed....

Let's just add this to 'ONE MORE THING TO BE ALL OFFENDED ABOUT'.

OMG, my guest used my fancy towels.
or...
OMG, my guest did NOT use my fancy towels.
or...
OMG, there are actually paper-towels in the bathroom.
or...
or...
or...

No need to get so excited or offended. They're just towels. Take a deep breath.

Ummmm, it is everyone else, getting all offended and snarky over flipping towels...
I am the one just making that point.
I could really not care any less.

Just another STUPID thing to worry and be all offended about.

Now, one can't even use the restroom and wash their hands without being stressed and having a nervous breakdown about using the towels, lest they offend somebody.
:rotfl2:

The DIS has been putting links to random threads at the bottom of the page (including old ones). If they continue that, we're likely to continue to see lots of random threads bumped up.

And besides, some people, like me, weren't around when the thread was first active, and found the revival to be very amusing. I never minded zombie threads. If the topic is interesting, I'll read and maybe even comment. Most zombie threads, however, aren't interesting to me, so I just ignore them after reading a post or three.

The date of the first post is right under the thread title, so I'm not understanding why some posters don't recognize it as a zombie, then apologize for ressurecting it. No need to apologize, IMO. If a seven page thread suddenly appears after not being there yesterday, that's usually a major clue.

I thought of this thread today. When I was at WDW last week my SIL stayed at my house a few nights. I guess she forgot to bring soap (she brought her own towels!) because she used my decorative soap. I have a bowl of seashell shaped soap sitting on the counter (for about 12 years) and one was in the shower when I got home. It was probably rather dusty. I wish she had texted me; I have many small bars of soap from hotels in the cabinet. I find it very funny.

Was she supposed to text you from the shower when she realized there was no soap? lol

Holy hand towel, Batman.....6 years, 9 pages and still the world may never know..to use or not to use:scratchin

When we have guests, we put out a basket of folded paper towels on the counter by the sink. They work well, everyone knows what they are for and everyone gets a fresh, clean towel.

My MIL did that for a party a few years ago and got many positive comments from her guests.

I also do this, just as you described a basket of folded paper towels. I cannot use a wet hand towel its iky to me.

Did you just say you wouldn't use the hanging towel in a bathroom? 90% of the time that's why it's there. I have never been to someone's house where they put what should be a hanging towel on the sink.

Also, I would hope the hanging towels get washed. When you flush the toilet there is a spray, hence the reason bathrooms should be whiped down at least once a week. I would hate to know how many germs are on those towels!:scared1:

One day I was listening to a morning talk radio show. The woman was talking about how germs fly out of the toilet bowl when you flush, We put the top down in this house before we flush, to help reduce the germs. And my toilet has its own area with a door away from the sinks, tub, shower.
I also change out hand towels every other day some times several times a day( I have two small boys, things get messy and so gross around here.)
I hate getting sick so yes I agree wipe down frequently used area.

I so agree...I think that is why my one thread about me and DH being "upset" in my DIL reading at a campsite keeps getting bumped even though we are SOOOO over that and have moved on to other things. Like right now as I write this, my thread from mid August is showing up at the bottom of this page. :rolleyes1o_O

I didn't read all this thread, but I thought I would add to it :upsidedow

I have decorative towels that I put out for company to use.
It never occurred to me that people would put out decorative towels and NOT want people to use them.
