Stop the Sell of Alcohol at the Magic Kingdom

No, thanks. I love that I will be able to enjoy a nice glass of wine in Magic Kingdom during a delicious dinner. It sounds like a wonderful way to end an evening in Magic Kingdom.

I've never had a drop of alcohol, wine or champagne in my life, but I don't care if someone else wants to enjoy it with their meal. They will be in BoG for 90 minutes. If someone manages to get drunk and disorderly in that amount of time, security can and will throw them out of the park. It is a non-issue for me, so I will not be signing the petition. Sorry.

And before someone comes along with the "Walt must be rolling in his grave" line, the man has been dead for decades. He's not rolling. He was a business man. Times have changed. Change is not always a bad thing.

:thumbsup2 the other "red herring " line that inevitably shows up: "if you can't have fun without alcohol, you have a problem"

nothing to do with this issue (unless this is a crash course in the symptoms of alcoholism).

I am very upset with the decision of serving alcohol in the Magic Kingdom. This is the one park that is is full of fun and fantasy, that is aimed at family's with children. It should be a place where people shouldn't have to worry about other people having too much to drink. We see enough of that at Epcot.

Having said that, DH and I have been to MK without our children on two separate trips to celebrate our anniversary. So no, I am not saying that MK is only for children, it is my favorite park. Yes Walt was in business, but it was also his wish to keep MK alcohol free for a reason.

I can only hope those who are drinking at BOG will drink responsibly.

Club 33 in Disneyland serves alcohol.

While private, it is little different to selling beer and wine during a meal service at Be Our Guest.

As long as there is no take-out allowed, Magic Kingdom remains as safe as all of the other parks.

I'd be comfortable with a Park policy limit of two [2] drinks at a meal (1/2 bottle wine per person).

It is supposed to enhance the experience of the meal, not to get shnockered. Its a done deal.
