"Stop the Cat Box"- the misheard lyrics thread!

From the ex-BF:

Hotel California:
Should be "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave"
He sang "You can check out any time you like, and you can hit the beach"

Hot for Teacher - Van Halen:
Should be "I don't feel tardy"
He sand "I don't feel dirty"

From DS15 when he was little:
C&C Music Factory (I think) - Instead of "everybody dance now" he sang "everybody's pants down"

TLC Waterfalls - he sang "GO GO Jason Waterfalls" -- yeah...big Power Rangers fan!

"Dirty deeds done dirt cheap" became "Dirty deeds and your gol-darn cheese!"

Pink Floyd The Wall,

For the longest time all I heard was no Dukes of Hazzard in the classroom, not the actual no dark sarcasm in the classroom.

There was a commercial a few years ago with Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" and the guy in the commercial kept singing "Pour Some Shook Up Ramen".

This thread is cracking me up!

Misheard by DS

Song..Praise you , Fatboy Slim
Correct lyrics, I have to praise you like I should
Son's lyrics, I have to trade you like a shoe

Song . Battleflag,LoFidelity Allstars
Correct Lyrics.. Yes we aim to please
Son's Lyrics, Yes we ate the fleas

BIL thought the song Secret Agent Man was Secret Asian Man.

Thanks for clearing that up, Chrisxtwo. I never could figure out that "deuce" part, but you know what I thought they were saying, and I thought "that just can't be right". :rotfl2:

I still have tears in my eyes from the laughter, TDC Nala.

I don't have one of my own, but I remember one from a LONG time ago. I think it was on American Top 40. Casey Casem told about a listener who had requested the Rolling Stones song "Pizza Burning". He meant "Beast of Burden".

I thought those lyrics were a little wierd.

TDC Nala, DD (16) just got out of bed to see if I was crying or laughing. Much to her relief (but annoyance) I was :rotfl2: .

I thought(in Margaritaville) That "Stepped on a pop top" was "stepped on a pop tart" Then mom sang it in a karoake(spelling?) bar and we figured out what it was...

Real Line - "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap"
My line - "Dirty deeds and the dunder chiefs"....just what is a dunder chief?

Real Line - "Ain't no thinking thing..."
DNephew's Line - "Ain't no sinking sing..."

Real Line - "Just when I needed you most"
DSister's Line - "Just when I needed the mumps"

Fun ain't it?:woohoo:

My sister used to sing "smooth on the radar" instead of "smooth operator" when she was little-it was so funny. :lmao:

I had a friend in college that used to change a lot of lyrics to dirty ones and I can not listen to some songs without cracking up. One of them is "don't let the sun go down on me." She changed it to "don't let your son.... ! :scared1:

I don't know the name of the song, but in the 80s there was one with a chorus that went "I know this much is true"...I always thought they were saying "i know there's bunches of girls"

The Billy Joel song Scenes From an Italian Restaurant
real words: Brenda and Eddie had had it already by the summer of 75 (or something like that)

I thought they were saying: Brenda Benetti had had it already....

Love shack has a line about Funky Little Shack and my kids were singing in the back seat when I realized they thought it was a completely different F word. When I was younger I thought Play that Funky Music was Play that F (bad word) Music:rotfl2:

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville
My BIL thought the words were "stepped on a poptart" instead of "pop top".
:rotfl2: Hahaha! For the longest time I thought he said "stepped on a cow flop" (NH's nickname is Cow Hampshire!)

Pink Floyd The Wall,

For the longest time all I heard was no Dukes of Hazzard in the classroom, not the actual no dark sarcasm in the classroom.

Oh good, I'm not the only one who heard (and still "hears") it that way :teeth:.

These are all too funny. I have not posted in awhile, but had to share this one. A guy called a local radio station and requested Steve Miller Band's "Got to Get Down to Stringtown".

Stringtown is a correctional facility ::cop: in the southern part of our state. The DJ's had a good laugh over that one.

I can't remember who sang it, but the song "Lucille" was popular when I was a child.

The line goes "four hungry children and a crop in the field".

I always thought he said "four hundred children...." and wondered just how many children did farmers have  . I think I was a teen when I found out the REAL lyrics. :lmao: .

OMG! Me. too! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

In the OutKast song, Hey Ya, they sing "Shake it like a Polaroid picture". My DD, who was about 3 when that song came out, liked to dance around, singing "Shake it like a polar bear picture". She denies it now, since she's such a wise 5 y.o. :rotfl:

Nobody will know this jingle...but in my home town there is a song for the community college: "Clovis Community College--Pathway to your Future!!"

My husband would sing "Clovis COmmunity College---HALFWAY to your future!!"

WHen I called him on it he said "Well, it can really only get you halfway there can't it?!!"

Clovis...as in Clovis CA, central CA

That's by me! :thumbsup2

YEARS ago, the DJ had people calling in trying to figure out a line of the chorus in Martin Page's "House of Stone & Light".

The words are: And when I go I will op - open my eyes

To this day, everytime I hear this song, I STILL SWEAR it says:
I will not put poop in my eye.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Another tales of karaoke song

One of the regulars is known for coming up with dirty versions of songs as a running gag. His version of "Ring of Fire" has "I'm going down down down and her..." well fill in the blank
