Stop stealing concierge

Wow I was on the phone at 9a this morning to book concierge AKL for Dec 7. I know to book day by day. By the time they picked up and checked availability it was gone ! Tomorrow I will be calling at 8:59a, so everyone else stay off the phone.

They go fast! I made day by day ressies for AKV concierge for Nov. 30 - Dec. 5 and the first day is on wait list, but I did get the remaining days.

I will admit I have 2 studios for Nov 30-Dec 5th too! We got all days with exception of 1 because MS screwed up. So I am priority waitlisted for that 1 final day.

Fat chance on your wait lists unless someone gives up a partial concierge reservation because they just don't want to move to different rooms while there.

I called at the very first moment that concierge could be booked back in June of last year and by 9:08 am EST I was waitlisted for Dec 1 concierge studio at AKV. I never got it. Even worse, on the DCL cruise Dec 2-6, the DVC representative there told us he'd stayed concierge at AKV the night before the cruise (MY night, Dec 1) because MS told him to call the lodge directly to see if he could get in at the last minute. Yes, I was really really irritated when he told me that on the cruise. I still am. I doubt MS wants us to start calling the DVC villas directly to try to get the rooms we want at the last minute but it really isn't fair that I called in June and couldn't get the room that the DVC guide got at the last second.

I booked our May concierge stay at the end of August with no problems. Maybe it is just the busier times that are so hard to get? Or maybe I am just hoping it will be this way.

I booked day by day for our 1 BR stay 6 nights beginning Oct. 19, 2008... I thought it would be a problem to get, but MS said since my 10 month window fell over Thanksgiving week that I did not need to call and add day by day, but I did it anyway. Had no problem getting what we wanted. We are really hopeful for Savannah view as well... anyone know our chances of that??

Sorry, I was on there this morning too and after mnay busy signals and redialing.... I go through and booked my first night in a 2 bedroom villa Concierge, so I took two rooms up. I was just coming on here so excited cuz I was able to get it but now I feel bad. I'll be booking til the 10.

Did you renew the wait list at 7 days? If not then it was fair game. And the resort is contacted by DVC anytime the "room" has been released to CRO. So if I checked out early on 11/30 then the room was fair game. The resort probalby only dealt with him directly because he WORKED for Disney. (And apparently he missed the common sense gene. The one where you keep your mouth shut about things like "calling the resort directly" )

IMHO however this is going to turn out to be the WORST error DVC ever made. FIVE ROOMS??? Threads like this are going to be very common with a lot of disappointed folks. Especially those who purchased this resort just because it had Concerige!

I am going to keep calling periodically and speak to a supervisor to make sure they understand the reason I did not get my reservation is because of their mistake. I did call and reserve the room and he never added it to my reservation. I asked them to pull my call to verify.

Even so I am not that stressed because I have been back and forth on whether to try it. I am actually hoping to get BWV at the 7 month mark. What are my chance to get BWV's with BW view? That will free up 2 studio's for someone else if I can get it.

yes! I told MS I wanted the room whenever it became available, no matter what. I'm guessing it WAS because he was a Disney CM as well as DVC owner. Still not fair in my book.

Calling now ...... I'm not in !! Darn you all!! I really don't want to bounce around rooms and I'm not even going to do the tours. Man!! My first call, it wasn't open, hung up and redialed and they were full.

AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!! This is crazy. I was dialing and redialing. MS picked up at 9:01a. MS grabbed the wrong room. I said concierge and she grabbed the savannah view which I reserved yesterday instead of the concierge . I told her concierge she went back and it was gone !! So now I am waitlisted for the 2 days. See you all tommorrow at 9a!!!
