Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

We have 5 inches of the white stuff and more to come mid week. It is cold. I know for you to get snow and 32 is cold. Bundle up and drive safe.

Jen, I hate winter right along with you. I'm like Dana, we need to be in Florida.

Ginny

Pikester, I am so sorry to hear that your PTR/TR is lost...I had really enjoyed following you...I had been off for a little bit and was just playing catch up today...I am really interested in knowing the crowd levels when you went as that is the same week we are thinking of going this year (If I don't talk Danny into May before than)

SNOW! ugh!! Ihope we don't get any...although they made it sound like Thursday/Friday might be a close one for us! It is cold for sure...I don't know if I could handle any colder...I would have to buy some warmer clothes--I guess. I buy more in between clothes for us since the weather never really gets that cold here. I went out looking for sweats for Ashton yesterday. If I can find the tops I can't find the bottoms (I am trying to buy the next size so he looks so funny cause his clothes are just way too big for him. But, he will only be wearing them for the next 4/6 weeks so I wanted to keep them around for next year.

ATTENTION EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD

Can the OP please finish up the report to WDW.
I know many of you on here, and if you want to start a thread over on the Community Board, to discuss everyday life, please do so.

As the moderator-I have to keep the guideline of "On Topic" accurate. Personal Messages should be sent via PM's, and all other topics should be posted on the boards as topic specified.

I am not targeting anyone one thread---this will be posted on many of threads. So if you are "chatting" on other WDW trip threads, maybe try to get together to form a "Community Group" over on the Community Boards.

Thank you.
OhMari--

P.S. I totally chatted in my own TR's and Pre-trips--but guidelines by the DIS people would like us to encourage the guidelines.

Will do.

to the moderator: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. I have been anxiously waiting to hear about this conclusion of this person's Disney trip. I am a complete stranger and therefor am not involved in any extra of the chit chat. The OP's writing is wonderful and i can't wait to hear about the trip, but it's very hard to sift through all the extraneous stuff!

OP: Can't wait to find out what happens. Again your a great writer!

Hi guys! So I'm a little new here, but have been fllowinv your trip report for months, so thank you Lisa for finally giving me the push I needed to join up!

Anywho, I love the happy vibe on this thread, and while I don't post often (from the other side of the world it seems
a little strange to comment on a conversation ya'll had hours ago!) I've thourally enjoyed reading along with you!

So, Lisa, if you do set up a community thread can you please post the link so I can follow along with you? I can't wait to hear more about silver dollar city, and your grumpy boss. And all you guys! If however you don't want a complete random stranger butting in, pleSe ignore me! I'm
not annoying though, I promise! :goodvibes(caribean beach is my favourite resort, I can't wait to stay there for my birthdY!)

P.s on the weather note, 35degrees celcuis (85ish farenheit I thik?) in sunny Melbourne australia, and I'm stuck on a pAcked commuter train with no air con!

Thanks again guys!

Hey everybody! I've been working on getting the next Disney trip installment posted but then got a message from photobucket that the most recent account I have been using is about to exceed it's bandwidth. So, I'm uploading the pictures to one of my earlier photobucket accounts. Sorry for the delay.

Hey Lisa! Just stopping to say hey and let you know I WILL be back to catch up! I am so enjoying your report. If you do start a thread on the community board, please keep me in the loop! It's been fun getting to know you and your family and I would miss you if you just stopped writing! :goodvibes

It's been a while since I have posted a Disney trip installment and I'm sad to say that this installment will be a little short on pictures. Why? Because it was a water park day and I didn't take my camera, some pictures were lost somehow and you can't take pictures at Cirque de Soliel. But, I can talk about all these things.

You'll notice that I titled this installment "How much do I love my Dis family?" Why in the world would I word it that way? Well, I'm going to post pictures of me at the water park. If I didn't love ya'll and want ya'll to see what a good time we were having, there's no way in the world that I'd post pictures of me looking like a squenched eyed drowned rat.:lmao: So, just feel my love and don't post comments on how ridiculous I look. :thumbsup2 Keep the giggles to yourselves please.

The next morning, we were up and ready to go to Typhoon Lagoon. We skipped the water parks on our August, 2008 trip because we simply didn't have the time to go. Lacey had been with our church youth group but that had been years ago. We were all looking forward to spending time there.

We put our swimming suits on underneath our shorts and t-shirts 'cause I don't feel comfortable getting on a bus with a swimming suit on. I've seen people do it but you ain't gonna see me do it.:sad2: I packed our underwear, towels, sunscreen, hats and a waterproof camera in the mesh tote bag that I had gotten at Wal-Mart and we were off to the bus stop.

When we got to the stop it was about 10 minutes before 9:00 a.m. and the water park opened at 9:00. There were just a few people at the bus stop but after a few minutes, more and more guests were streaming into the bus stop. Their buses would pull up and the bus stop would empty out somewhat.

We were sitting on one of the benches waiting when we heard two older ladies talking about how they had been waiting on a Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon bus for about 15 minutes. Buses are supposed to run every 20 minutes so we figured we only had about a 5 minute wait until one came to the stop. 5 minutes rolls around and no bus. 10 minutes rolls around and no bus.

One of the ladies got up and called Guest Services on the bus stop phone. She told them the situation and in less than 5 minutes a Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon bus pulled up. I heard the lady tell her friend that the castmember told her that sometimes the Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon buses run late in the mornings since they share destinations and Downtown Disney isn't open early mornings.

We hopped on the bus with about a dozen other people and we were on our way. It took us no time at all to reach Typhoon Lagoon. We walked to the entrance and were happy to see that it wasn't busy yet even though we were a late for park opening.

I immediately started guiding us over to the store where you rent a locker and I stood in line while the rest of my family looked around. I can't remember how much the large locker rental was but it didn't seem like much to me. It took us a little while to find the locker. The numbering system seemed to be off and we walked around looking like a bunch of chickens with our heads cut off. Finally, we found it and were glad to see that it was way in the back and out of the way. I always feel funny undressing at a water park (even non-Disney ones) but in the corner, I didn't feel so weird about it.

Oh, and when I rented the locker, I also purchased one of the waterproof boxes to put our money in. I think it was about $6.00.

Once we had everything securely in the locker, we took off in search of a couple of lounge chairs to put our towels down on. I knew that we wouldn't be staying on the chairs all day long and I didn't want to take up chairs that other people would use so we just laid our stuff on one of the chairs.

First up on our list of things to do were the water slides. Lacey was a little apprehensive so we told her we'd do the littler slides first. The little slides were the storm slides so we started climbing the steps. For those of you who don't know about the storm slides, there are three slides. These are pretty tame. No large drops. Just a nice twisty turny slide down the mountain. Of course, since there are three different slides, we had to keep going back up until all three of us had done each slide. I took pictures with the disposable camera but have never had them developed. Bad Diser, I know!

Once Lacey had gotten over her initial apprehension, she was ready to take on Humunga Cowabunga. These are the slides that drop you nearly straight down and you're in the dark too! We got nearly to the top of the mountain and had to wait a few minutes (maybe 5) before it was our turn. I tried taking a picture going down the slide but it's on the disposable camera that I haven't developed yet. :rolleyes1 I was screaming like a little girl all the way down. That's not a good thing when you hit that last little part before you get to the bottom. There's water coming up at you and I swallowed a mouthful of water.

Somehow, we timed it where Lacey and I came down at the same time and John and Hunter came down at the same time. All of us had wedgies! For the entire vacation, Lacey was constantly eating or getting ready to eat. John kept picking on her and telling her that she must have a tapeworm and should have one of those colon cleansing procedures done. Of course, he was just kidding.

As we were walking back up to do Humunga Cowabunga again, we were laughing about the wedgies we had all gotten. John told Lacey that there was no need for her to get the colon cleanse 'cause these water slides were doing the same job for her. Okay, that was probably too much information to share but I've already typed it and I ain't taking it out. I never said we were normal.

After we had done all of the Storm Slides and Humunga several times each, we figured we were brave enough to hit Crush n Gusher. John doesn't like any kind of water ride that you have to get on a tube. Every time he gets to the bottom and hits the water, he turns over backwards. He does it every time. I don't know why he can't just keep sitting up and wait until he gets down a little further and then tip himself over. Anyway, the whole time we were walking over to Crush n Gusher, we were telling him he needed to ride and finally talked him into it.

On the way over, we noticed that the lazy river was packed. There were people everywhere. Usually, there will be a bunch of people and then a blank spot and then more people. This was a solid crowd of people floating by. We certainly wouldn't be joining the crowd.

Once we got to Crush n Gusher, John almost backed out again. We wouldn't let him and we hopped in line. We got two two people rafts and started walking up. I like going down these kinds of water rides but I don't like the climbing up. Well, it's actually not the climbing up, it's the "I can see down and I now realize how high up I am" that I don't like. Poor Lacey, she and I were carrying up our tube since we were riding together and I was about to push her down while trying to stay on the inside part of the stairs. I know! I know! Mothers are supposed to protect their young...not push them down. I was scared! :scared1:

It's finally our turn and the guy at the top was about Lacey's age. He was talking to her while the other people were waiting to go. A little flirty flirty on his part. Then, it was our turn and he told us how to sit and to hold on. Right before we started down, Lacey yells to the guy "You're the bomb!" and we were off.

The guy told us to hold on but what he didn't tell us was that we should hold our behinds up. I bet my buttbone hit every single little bump on that ride. Ouch! We both yelled and squealed all the way down. It was so much fun. I already knew by watching others go down that we would be hit by a burst of water when we got to the end of the tube so I was prepared and had my eyes all squenched up and my mouth closed tight.

AND THIS IS WHERE YOU HAVE TO SWEAR NOT TO LAUGH. WELL, YOU CAN LAUGH BUT YOU CAN'T TELL ME THAT YOU LAUGHED. WELL, YOU CAN TELL ME THAT YOU LAUGHED BUT YOU CAN'T TELL ME THAT YOU MADE FUN OF ME. WHAT THE HECK AM I RAMBLING ABOUT? THIS IS WHERE I AM GOING TO INSERT THE "LISA LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE SQUENCHED EYED DROWNED SKINNY RAT" PICTURE. READY?

Haven't laughed enough? Well, let me help you out. Here's my not so graceful dump out of the raft:

Image089.jpg

Isn't it wonderfully amazing how the Photopass photographers can capture the most beautiful vacation moments. NOT!

John and Hunter came down just as we were walking to the pool's edge. Yes, John fell out backwards which caused Hunter to get dumped out too. Of course, the Photopass photographer didn't catch his graceful fall. But, they did give him a Photpass card/bracelet and told him there were no pictures on it. :confused3

John said he wasn't going down again. He was going to be waiting on us in one of the beach chairs. Lacey, Hunter and I hopped back in line and waited on a three person raft. Somehow, we got in the wrong line and had to move over to some other line. The signage wasn't so good because we saw two other groups have to change lines like we did. We finally got a three person tube and we climbed back up again.

This time, Lacey and I knew to keep our behinds lifted. Hunter said he didn't have booty bruises from his first ride. I told him to lift up anyway. I handled the heights a bit better the second time and didn't knock either of my children down just so I could feel safe.:thumbsup2 We waited about 10 minutes and we were going down again.

Just in case you didn't laugh enough at the last two pictures, I am going to post another picture or two for you.

I'm going to stop here and give you guys some time to stop laughing, wipe those tears away and compose yourself. I'll be back to post the rest of our Typhoon Lagoon day in a bit.

At least your skinny. I look like a beached whale in my suit! love the pics!

Awww, my sweet Jen! This is why I love all of my Dis friends. We can so relate to each other and our body issues. And, you certainly don't look like a beached whale.

Did you notice my lovely farmer tan on my arms?

Ok! I have to second what Jen said!!! I, too, would look like a beached whale!!!

looks like a lot of fun!!!! I don't do slides, never did...:confused3: and I didn't see any funny in the pics BTW; just a family having a fun time!!! But, you did have me rolling with all the commentary!
:wave2:

Connie, I try my best to keep you guys entertained. It helps that I have a family that's pretty doggone entertaining. I still haven't figured that out 'cause we lead a semi-boring life.

Which one of these would you like me to put on fb? I can do them all if you would like. Are you scared yet?

I laughed so hard. I had to tell Christine (no, I did not call her in to see :rolleyes1 cause she was giving me such strange looks.

I love water rides too and yes, call me John I always get dumped out backward. It's that center of gravity thing I got going.

All kidding aside. I think I'll post the squinty eye, close mouth one and then the first one of the three of you with your mouth wide open. Pretty fitting I would say.

Love it

Great update & great photos, Lisa! I'm not laughing at all- just jealous of how thin you are!!! :thumbsup2

I knew I could count on you to tell the truth about laughing! Heck, I laughed at myself. I couldn't believe that I haven't even shown the pictures to my family and here I was posting them on the Disboards for all to see.

BUT, that certainly doesn't mean you are supposed to be posting them on Facebook, Mrs. Ginny! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Come on! Admit it, you were laughing. If not a full blown laugh then at least a little giggle.

I hate hate hate being skinny. Been that way every since I was a little girl.

You are so no fun. Seriously I would never post pics of anyone of fb without their permission. Unless it is my family members. Heck I post anything about them anywhere that will let me without their permission. Except bathing suit pics of the girls. I had to promise them long ago I would never put a bathing suit pic on a public site. I tell them Dis and fb aren't public. You have to be a member so that means not everyone can see.:rotfl2:

There is nothing better in this world than a family having a good time and not being afraid who watches. We need a lot more of us out there.

I definitely knew that you were kidding about posting on Facebook.

I am still in shock that I actually posted the pictures myself.
