It seems so long since I have posted anything on this report....please accept my sincere apologies! :) Hopefully I still have a few people hanging with me!! But I am back and hopefully will be able to get back on track with this trip as well as the one I just finished! Whew!! So on with the show!!!

Magic Kingdom was open at 8am for AM EMH so I thought this was the perfect day to tackle the park, get as much as I could get done, and let Keith sleep! Also since plans have been adjusted for today, I really only have until 11:30am to tour a park that would normally take two-three days! The kids and I get up and dressed. Apparently I thought we had plenty of time and I snapped a few resort pics:

IMG_1044.jpg

We head out and have to wait a bit for a bus. I start sweating it because one reason I love Rope Drop at Magic Kingdom is due to the Welcome Show. By the time we arrive, speed walk to bag check, go through the massive line and get through the ticket turnstile we have minutes to spare. Whew!! Disaster adverted!!

IMG_1045.jpg

And the Welcome Show did not disappoint!! This is the one thing I would be terribly upset about missing!!

IMG_1056.jpg

And a video who just wants to see the show!!

So where do we head first? Tomorrowland!!
Tomorrowland was intended to be a working city as well as the headquarters for the League of Planets. When you look around Tomorrowland, you are supposed to be able to see all of the communitys needs met: transportation, news, dining, shopping, and communication. So it doesnt matter if you are an alien, a robot or human, you can find everything you need right here!!

IMG_1076.jpg

Space Mountain is our destination of choice!!

Space Mountain opened January 15, 1975. I didnt even know Disney World existed yet this was my favorite ride until Tower of Terror came along! Space added a big boost to the park and it was a much needed boost! Space travel was still very popular even though moon travel was losing some of its mystique!

IMG_1058.jpg

We get there and immediately queue up. It is pretty much a walk on even though a 10 minute wait time was posted.

IMG_1059.jpg

The longest part was getting to the ride!!

IMG_1060.jpg

IMG_1061.jpg

We tried to make pictures where we were asleep but I leaned too far over so I look more passed out from a drunken stuper!!

Continued in the next post....

Of course we had a blast, although this was the first time I was in the back car. That thing is jerky and one ride did me! I guess I am just getting too old for the jerkiness—at least from the back car!

Next up is Buzz Lightyear! This is another walk-on. Hooray!!!

IMG_1068.jpg

IMG_1070.jpg

I am never good at this game no matter what I do! Chris managed to hit a magical spot and scored tons of points!

Redneck Picture!!

IMG_1072.jpg

We exit Tomorrowland—which means I miss out on two things I wanted to do: Carousel of Progress and Monster’s Inc Laugh Floor.

IMG_1074.jpg

Next up on our whirlwind tour, we head towards Fantasyland! Castle pictures are an absolute must!!

IMG_1077.jpg

IMG_1081.jpg

This little tidbit was new to me since I always say “Cinderella’s Castle”. But it isn’t possessive at all!! It is simply Cinderella Castle! Also something I did not know was that the restaurant was once called King Stefan’s Banquet Hall but people found it odd that Sleeping Beauty’s dad would have a room in Cinderella’s castle so it was changed to Cinderella’s Royal Table in 1997. That wasn’t so long ago so some people may well remember King Stefan’s Banquet Hall! To me it raises an interesting thought process especially since I am addicted to “Once Upon A Time” and how so many lives are intertwined! I wonder just what goes on in Cinderella Castle!! :lmao:

And then there is the shot of the New Fantasyland construction:

IMG_1086.jpg

The Mad Tea Cups are a walk-on also so we queue up!! An original Magic Kingdom ride on October 1, 1971!

IMG_1087.jpg

Round and Round we go!!!

IMG_1095.jpg

Chris actually got a little queasy this go around. I saw green under the collar!! But thankfully not too bad!! It was time to move one. It was not quiet 9am so we decided to explore Fantasyland a little further!

Next up: Madison chooses to relive her childhood--much to Chris' chagrin!!

Are you back home already? Why does time seem to fly by when you're on vacation?

We are and I am going through major withdrawals!! :sad1: We had planned a short trip and Keith has instructed me (along with many other instructions) that future trips should be longer! :goodvibes It was a complete blur!!

What a great MK morning! I'm with you-the Welcome Show is not to be missed.

You got some fantastic photos yet again. Can't wait to see more.

I hope you'll do a TR for your most recent trip- I can't wait to hear about it.

Loved your update!!:goodvibes Especially since we were there that morning too!!:thumbsup2

I completely agree about the Welcome Show! It's a must-do for us every trip! It looks like from your pictures that you were just to the right of us.::yes::

Yay for Tomorrowland!! I think you must have been just ahead of us or we spent a little too much time hanging around the castle because by the time we made it over to SM, the line was out the door.:(

Your castle pictures are beautiful!! Hmm...I never realized it was Cinderella Castle. I have always called it Cinderella's Castle.:rolleyes1

It sounds like a great morning so far! Can't wait to hear more!

That Welcome show always makes me tear up and I don't know why :confused3

I ate at the castle when it was King Stephen's...they had really cool pewter style serving plates and cups. I remember having chicken...and drinking out of the cool cups, but don't remember much else.

And you aren't kidding about the back car on Sapce! I got off that for the first time in 20 years and it hurt!

So happy to see an update! Yay!!:cool1: But......so sorry your trip is over already! :sad1: I know lots of people enjoy the short trips but after just doing a short 5 day one this year, I think I'd rather go less often but stay longer. Oh, who am I kidding? I'll go anytime for however long!:rotfl:

Looks like you're off to a great start at MK. Loved the video of the Opening Ceremony. I just have to see that in person in January. Can't wait to see how much ground you cover by 11:30.popcorn::

We tried to make pictures where we were asleep but I leaned too far over so I look more passed out from a drunken stuper!!

IMG_1062.jpg

Okay...admit it...that early in the morning it had to be either Bloody Mary or Mimosa! :lmao:

We have never been to the Welcome Show at MK. Gee thanks Tinks, now you've given me ANOTHER thing to add to my bucket list! :rolleyes1

Glad you're back with your TR updates. Love 'em.

The Welcome Show is one of my favorite things to see/do! I really hope they do not decide to drop it like they have at the other parks--although those openings weren't as great!

I have worked on my pictures, organizing and downloading, today. Now I just need to figure out the title--why is that so difficult!? And thanks on the pics! Many, many more to come! :goodvibes

Loved your update!!:goodvibes Especially since we were there that morning too!!:thumbsup2

Thanks! I have finally made it to the day you covered months ago!!

Love that show!! I believe we were just to the right of you also. I think we were just out of the pictures you took.

Yay for Tomorrowland!! I think you must have been just ahead of us or we spent a little too much time hanging around the castle because by the time we made it over to SM, the line was out the door.:(

I think we may have crossed paths and never realized it!!

Thanks on the picture comments! :goodvibes I thought that was interesting on the castle. It is amazing how puntuation can change things!

I always tear up also! I feel silly but then I remind myself other adults do as well and I don't feel so bad! That is so cool that they had pewter plates and cups!!

If I had never been on Space and the first time was in that last car, I would vow never again!! Next time I will be sure to not be in the back!!

Hopefully I can update better now! At least I hope things begin to slow down between work and home! The short trip was okay since it was my third time this year, but it still was not long enough! I need a bigger fix to indulge my addiction!! ::yes:: But I am with you...I will go for however long as long as I get to go!!

I will say, we covered lots of ground and would have done all of my goals had Madison not detoured us--which was fine since it was her vacation too!!

Okay...admit it...that early in the morning it had to be either Bloody Mary or Mimosa! :lmao:

Glad you're back with your TR updates. Love 'em.

Mimosa, definitely!! :rotfl: I just keep adding and adding to that list don't I!? Wait until I give a run down of Food and Wine! Huge bucket list (at least for me) there!! :goodvibes

Glad you have stuck with me and still enjoying!! I am promising to try and keep up better now!!

Welcome Back!! I can't wait to hear all about the recent trip and what y'all thought of F&W!!

Love the update! The welcome show at MK is one of my favorite things, too. I must see it at least once every trip. The Space Mountain picture is great! Looks like y'all were having a fun morning!

Thanks!! I hope to get the new TR going this week. I am having to get my feet on the ground at work but hopefully I can get it started soon. I have my pictures ready to go! I really appreciate the tips! I only missed out on one thing we had discussed We ate so much food!!

We were having a great morning! I hope I can continue it tomorrow. I was going to post tonight but there is a certain #9 in Black and Gold I am watching tonight...hoping for another win! Oh and that LSU game was so disappointing! :guilty:

Oooohhhh....I can't wait for the new TR & to see what you thought! :cool1:

The Saints are on my TV right now, too. I'm not a huge NFL fan, my heart lies with college football. But, I do cheer for the Saints. Ed is a huge Falcons fan so he'll only root for the Saints when it doesn't negatively affect the Falcons. :rotfl:

Girl - I can hardly stand to even THINK about that LSU game. :furious: For once, our offense was FINALLY playing well and actually winning the game for us. The last couple of years, we've had to depend on our defense to win. Then, the d**n defense goes and loses the game in 30 seconds. Unbelievable. And to do that against Alabama. I can't even begin to explain the hatred I have for Alabama and Georgia. Reid will tell you, "If I cheer for Alabama or Georgia, Mommy and Daddy are going to kick me out of the house." :lmao::lmao::lmao:

New TR is coming up!! :goodvibes

Those Saints pulled it off!! I am a college football gal too! I only really started watching NFL (other than ocassionally) when Keith and I got together. That LSU game...I just knew they had it! I feel the same about Ole Miss....ick!!!! I told my kids I'll pay for college as long as it isn't Ole Miss or Auburn!

I am going to do a quick update on this TR and then I will be posting my new TR!

It can be found here: And a Very Happy Birthday to ME!! October 2012

Let's see where did I leave off? Oh yes! We were at Magic Kingdom for EMH and had tackled Space Mtn and Buzz Lightyear. A few mandatory Cinderella Castle pictures and a spin on the Mad Teacups. So where to next?....

Then we try to decide where to go next. Madison wants to see the new Storybook area so we walk over and ride Dumbo (another original ride on 10.1.1971!).

IMG_1096.jpg

This area now is just so fun to me! It makes me want to be a kid again!! I took a few quick shots in the tent area.

IMG_1097.jpg

IMG_1098.jpg

IMG_1099.jpg

Not great pictures since we were running through but this wasn’t open in March so it was neat to see the inside! I could see kids not wanting to move along and mess up a parent’s well-laid touring plans!

IMG_1102.jpg

IMG_1103.jpg

IMG_1105.jpg

IMG_1107.jpg

IMG_1109.jpg

In no time at all we are loading up and ready to ride! This is the first time we have been on Dumbo since 1999 when Maddie was four! But it only seems like yesterday!

IMG_0049.jpg

I tried getting some pictures as we flew but I failed for the most part…..

IMG_1111.jpg

IMG_1112.jpg

IMG_1114.jpg

IMG_1116.jpg

We leave Dumbo and Madison wants to ride Barnstormer…uhm I mean The Great Goofini or whatever! First I take a few shots of the new Casey play area, another area that has opened since my March trip. This was really cute and I could see soaking wet kids later in the day!

IMG_1115.jpg

IMG_1117.jpg

Next up TGG!! Madison wanted to ride it as Barnstormer in 2010 before Mickeystoontown closed down but it was down each time we went by. So again this was her first time to ride since 1999. She is already nostalgic and wanting to remember being little! This was also her first roller coaster ride…ever!! (I mean in 1999 when she was almost 4).

IMG_0079.jpg

IMG_0050.jpg

The redesign is pretty cute:

Chris took up a whole car!!

IMG_1123.jpg

I don't know these people but aren't they cute!?

Continued in the next post....

IMG_1125.jpg

We head out of Storybook Land and towards Madison’s most favorite ride! It’s a Small World!!! (Again this was an original ride on 10.1.1971!) I think most people know all about this ride’s history! I will note though that Mary Blair is the artist/Imagineer of it’s a small world and she chose to use white to represent the world community thinking it felt festive. But also it is interesting that when red, blue and green (the three primary colors of light) overlap, the resulting color is white.

At 9:10am we are loading up!! Pretty successful so far! In 1 hour and 10 minutes we have rode Space Mtn, Buzz, the Teacups, Dumbo, TGG and loading onto IASW! This is why I love EMH and Rope Drop!!!

Doesn’t it look like Madison is loving this ride?!

IMG_1138.jpg

Maybe not!

IMG_1142.jpg

IMG_1144.jpg

IMG_1146.jpg

For some reason this makes me think of a 1980’s Prom decoration!!

IMG_1148.jpg

IMG_1149.jpg

Let’s all sing-along….come on I know you want this stuck in your head for the next few days!! “it's a world of laughter, a world or tears it’s a world of hopes, it’s a world of fear there’s so much that we share that it’s time we're aware it’s a small world after all a small world after all. It’s a small world after all!”

Now the chorus everyone!!!

It’s a small world after all; it’s a small world after all; it’s a small world after all; it’s a small, small world

IMG_1150.jpg

IMG_1153.jpg

IMG_1154.jpg

IMG_1156.jpg

IMG_1157.jpg

IMG_1158.jpg

Let's check back with Madison...

IMG_1160.jpg

And one more time!!!

There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile means friendship to everyone.
Though the mountains divide; And the oceans are wide
It's a small small world
It’s a small world after all; it’s a small world after all; it’s a small world after all; it’s a small, small world

Thanks for joining in everyone!!!!
