stop and shop double gas points w/ gift card purchase

June 10th-23rd you get double gas points with any gift card purchase except stop and shop gift cards. pretty good deal since you never get any gas points with gift card purchases. /im gonna load up on disney gift cards !!!

As a bonus for me, as I was poking around Stop & Shop's website, I finally found where I can see my accumulated gas points AND when they expire. We never knew that in the past and we don't have many available gas stations near us, so we don't redeem them often. Woohoo!! Now we can make a point to use them before they expire.

just an fyi:
DH went to use our SS points, at a designated station last night. the gas was $.30+ higher than our regular station, plus another $.10 if you used a credit card.
so the $.40 savings per gallon was moot, especially as he had to drive a distance to get to the station.
hope it works out better for others, but i doubt we'll use the points again.

I went to the main Stop & Shop page and there was a graphic saying "Save on groceries, save on gas" and a *learn more* button. I clicked on that. On the right side of the page that comes up, under the annoying video that's playing there's a button that says "Already earning gas rewards - check your points". Click on that. If you are already logged into your S&S online account a page will come up telling you the point balance and you can click and it gives a breakdown on how many points will expire on which dates.

I'm going to bookmark that page because I had to do a little poking around to figure out how I got there the last time.

I actually just got back from Stop and Shop, bought $200 in gift cards and now have an additional 400 in points! The scary part was, I almost forgot to give her my card! Luckily I remembered at the last minute.

Maybe it is regional? I just checked my weekly ad online and the promo shows on the first page.

Ok, I have to quote my own quote.
I went back to Stop & Shop tonight after checking to see if the rewards was in this area and saw that it was.
I went to the service desk and told them and he again said no rewards for buying gift cards so I showed him the sale circular. He then tried to credit my account with $100 but made a mistake and hit too many 0's but couldn't take them off, so I got $1000 reward points for a $50 purchase..... BIG YEAH!
I was going to buy some more gift cards but he said he wouldn't be able to give me any more reward points since he had made the mistake so I am off tomorrow to buy some cards at one of the other Stop & Shops.
I will be at the parks from the 1st to the 14th and these gift cards will come in handy.

That is why we wait until we've accumulated enough points to get a dollar off a gallon. We figure in the fact that the gas is substantially higher than the regular station that we use and calculate our savings based on what we would normally pay for gas. For us it just isn't worth using the points for anything less than a $1.00 off.

They will let you purchase up to 35 gallons each time you use your Stop & Shop points, so we bring both of our cars and fill them up at the same time. This way it makes it well worth it for us.

The four Stop and Shop gas station near me are the same if not cheaper than other stations in the area. I don't think the Stop and Shop near me sell the Disney gift cards because I looked the other day. I will check again.
