I love stuffing my son's stocking too but this year I just have struggled to figure out what the heck to put in there! He is 13 now, 14 next month, and too old for the action figures I used to put in there and too young for razors and things you would normally get for a young man. So far I have:
a poster
candy
wallet
watch
TAG body spray
PSP game
gift cards to McD's and to load up his cell phone
a screamin flying monkey

I agree with the PP that if I had girls to shop for it would be so easy!! (and cheaper!) I like hearing other people's traditions- in our family we always do the stockings first!

What is a screaming flying monkey? My ds is 10, and it sounds like something he might like. Where do you get them?

One thing I'm putting in I haven't seen yet -- new earbuds for ipod or electronic games. They come in a ton of fun colors, and he can always use another set.

we put in what our grandmother always put in: an orange in the toe, peanuts (in the shell ) a new toothbrush....the traditional things for us

beyond that I like to look for old fashioned tin toys or unusual little fun items...for our teens/young adults also a cd & a gift card...and a huge hit is the HUMUNGOUS Sugar Daddy http://candy-crate.stores.yahoo.net/luvpops.html

they have them at amazon! I read about that on another thread & ordered a few, there are different animals too! we picked an animal for each person

Flying screamin monkeys are a toy I seen on another thread. You can find them on amazon. They are less than $5 and look cute- haven't received mine in the mail so I can't really tell you a whole lot about them. I guess they are like slingshots and they scream as they are flying through the air.
Thank you to the PP that mentioned the big sugar daddies! Just ordered one!
