What does everyone put in the stockings?? My DD will be 11 and usualy ony has a few things in her stocking. I almost never put anything in DH's stocking. This year I would like to put lots in each ....so what do you put in the kids and adults stockings? The only idea I have this year is a gift card for her new I Touch....any other ideas?

maybe in your dd stocking put some bath and body works lotions, her favorite candy. i don't know if you allow her to have candles but if you do some candles or mayber a tart burner with some tarts (i know that theres a yankee candle coupon online for $10 off a $25 purchase)

for dh maybe cologne, his favorite candy, a best buy gc,

Oh how I wish I had girls when it came to filling up a Christmas stocking. I have two boys (11 and 13) plus DH and they are so hard to get for.

For Dh's stocking it's just usually his normal big bag of M&M's and a card with a gift card in it.

For my boys this year I got them mostly candy (cause I can't think of anything to get them) LOL But I ALWAYS get them each one of those big ole hershey kisses. It is mandatory---they say it's not Christmas without one LOL.

Bunch of candy
Gum
new gloves
magazine for 13yr old
book for 11yr old
more pencils for school
toothbrush
deodorant

As for girls, I think I would have a blast and have to buy another stocking just to fit it all in. LOL But I would get....
lipgloss
lotions
hair thingies
stickers for her nails
nail polish
gift cards
any little craft items that would fit in there
small picture frames
pencils, markers, crayons etc.
gloves, scarf, hat
undies
socks
gift cards to her fave place
gift card to McD's or Wendy's or wherever she likes to go

One year I got them each a Build a Bear gift card and they told me that was their best gift that year (and it was only a couple years ago) They're still asking me to get them one. LOL

Stockings are great fun. I haven't done them yet this year, but usually I put in:

chocolate santa
Nintendo DS game (unwrapped so small)
swiss army knife knife, waterproof matches (for camping)
watch
tiny silly toys (this year: flying screaming monkeys, bakugan)
playing cards and/or trading cards
tiny flashlight
tiny sewing kit
little books (one year a smoothie recipe book, or a joke book)

You get the idea. Anything small enough to go in a stocking. Unwrap things so it all fits better. (We don't gift wrap stocking fillers since they are for instant gratification anyway.) If they have a hobby or a collection, so much the better!

DS18 is getting a controller for his XBox that is from Santa (yes, I still have them doing this!!), candy, and gift cards for gas and the restaurants around the college.

DD17 is getting some cologne (Paris Hilton kind that I got for less than half price last night from Amazon!!!:cool1: ), some sleeping shorts rolled up, candy, make-up and gift cards for gas.

The smaller grandchildren will get a smaller toy and candy. All stockings get some kind of lip balm, maybe a hair brush, small mirrors for girls, and anything else I run across.

Other ideas, if you have an "artsy" person to get for, small packages of clay, crayons, markers, paint sets, etc.

I love filling stockings! Growing up, my parents surprised us one year with HUGE stockings and have filled them every year since (although now siblings & I share w/ our spouses & children).

For DS13:
hand-warmers
a puzzle game (one of the 3-D, metal kind)
gum
silly trick gum (I think it sprays water)
cologne & body spray/deodorant
itunes gift card
giant peanut butter cup from candy store

DD(almost 9):
itunes gift card
tic-tacs
jibbits for crocs
watch
truffles
a pin

DH might pick up a few more things (he does his shopping later than I do, although we usually do the beginning of shopping together)

We don't do adult, but the girls are getting body wash/lotion, lip glass, nail polish, candy, gum, socks, underwear, hair items, markers for the little ones... Boys are harder.

My DFi loves gift cards to McDonalds and subway so I get small denominations and stick them in his stocking. Like a $5-$10 Subway card and the same for McDonalds. he loves them because he's a paramedic and he eats at odd times.

I put in the same kind of things as mentioned already (nail polish, candy, gum, socks, lip gloss, itunes cards, etc). And, I always put a can of silly string in each one, too (to be played with outside, of course). Some silly toy is always fun, no matter how old you are!

We love movie passes at our house. Especially this year, there are a few the kids really want to see. So that is always a fun family day as well.

Everyone gets at least one book. This has been a great year for new DVD's - Prince Caspian for DD, Wall-E for DS, Batman for DH. Gloves, hats, socks, underwear, hankies for DH (I know, who uses hankies???? Get a tissue, for heaven's sake :) ) Mickey Mouse cell phone charm for DD, gum, kites for the beach this summer, car wash gift cards for DH, new toothbrushes, toothpaste, chap stick/lip gloss, small pkgs. of specialty hot chocolate, PBA-free water bottles, athletic shoe deodorizer - that's one of my favorites.:thumbsup2

DH and DS always get a couple of pairs of cute socks in their stocking. I also toss a few lotto tickets in DH's. This is a holiday tradition in his mom's house. She still does a stocking for each couple and we always have fun with the scratch offs.

DH also always gets a silver coin or a proof set as he collects them.

I love doing stockings and I only have DH to do now.
I usually put in his:
socks
boxers (Christmas themed)
mints/gum
shave cream/after shave
toothbrush
floss
gift card for coffee
a book

gloves
socks
toothbrush
body lotion (DD)
body spray
DVDs
Video games
Candy

and this year they're both getting tickets to see Larry the Cable Guy in March.

For DH:

scratch tix
Dunkin Donut's GC
deodorant/shave gel
razor blades
itunes gc
chocolate hollow Lindt santa

DD 8
icarly CD (music from the show)
itunes gc
Chocolate hollow Lindt Santa
lip gloss
hair stuff
earrings
book

DD 6
Chocolate hollow Lindt santa
lip gloss
hair stuff
earrings
book
Target gc

I fill stockings every year for DH & DS (now a teen) and LOVE doing so! :lovestruc I always use the big 3 foot felt stockings (the Dollar Tree always has these) and often fill them to the rim (DS usually has items that will not even fit in)! :goodvibes For stockings (and Easter Baskets) I try to put in more "things" and less "candy/snacks". Stockings are the last thing that is always opened (emptied) on Christmas morning!

For my DH this year I have:

Dress Socks
Tube Socks
Electric Toothbrush
New razor set
Golf "stuff"
Aftershave
McDonalds Giftcard (so DH can grab breakfast every now & then before work)
2 DVD's
Wireless controller for the XBox 360 DS is getting (so they can play together)
Homer Simpson sleep pants
Tee to match sleep pants
Underwear pack
Gloves
Nerds
Peppermint Bark candy (large bag)
Big Hershey candy bar
Misc. Candy

DS Stocking:

New razor set (boxed)
Tag (Body Spray) gift set
Extra (different scent) Tag body spray
2 PSP games
I-Tunes Giftcard
2 DVD's
1 CD
1 "old XBox" (new, found at TRU) video game
Amp (in a can) and Dr. Pepper sleep pants (2 pairs total)
2 Tees to match the sleep pants
2 underwear packs
Golf "stuff"
A card game is a tin
Mechanical pencils
Sharpies
Nerds
Big Hershey candy bar
Cella's
Gum

This is what I have so far, however, while out shopping between now and Christmas... if something (cheaper) catches my eye I will pick it up for them! :goodvibes

I like to put:
small travel size hand cream (for back packs or car)
socks(funny holiday ones)
small packs Kleenex( Back pack or car)
pocket size Body spray
Candy and more Candy:rotfl2:
tooth brushes and kids paste
kids body wash or shampoo

I also stock up on goofy toys from the magnet store in DTD:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the ideas!! I could not think of anything and now I have tons of ideas so their stockings will be full!!:cool1:

go to Limited Too, they have a ton of things for girls that age. I was dragged in there last week by my DD's 8 & 10 and it was full of little stocking stuffer type things that they were just ape for. I had to drag them out of there by the heels....

I'll be going back today or tomorrow without them to pick up stuff for their stocking.
