I'm wondering what kind of stocking stuffers your children get. DD 3 is easy, smaller toys and candy. DD 13 will get bath gels, lip gloss and things like that. Also, do you wrap the stocking stuffers?

DD is 4. She'll be getting craft supplies (glue sticks, tape, stickers, markers etc) and a few treats. We wrap the gifts in tissue paper.

For as long as I can remember, my Mom has only put candy in our stocking. She puts our favorite candy in our own stockings, so that we can enjoy the whole stocking rather than just a handful of pieces. Last year was the first year that I think she put movie passes in our stockings, but that is about it.

Mc Donalds Gift Certificates (usually come with a collectible ornament and I still have most of mine from when I was a kid). You can also register them on upromise to get money for your kids college fund.

Stickers, YoYo, Slinky, Video Game, Holiday Socks, Book, Earrings/Necklace/Bracelet, CD's, DVD's, Candy/Gum, Palm Pilot, Bath Gels, Nail Polish, Makeup, Perfume, Silly Putty, Play Dough, Stampers, Charm Links, Shrinky Dinks.......I have loads of ideas.

I wrap them and say they are leftover's Santa thought they should get for being extra good.

Growing up the stockings were the best part of the morning. Now that I'm a parent myself I realize they were jammed full for a reason - more sleep time for Mommy and Daddy.

Stocking stuffers are not wrapped and Santa places them outside the respective bedrooms - no one is allowed downstairs until everyone is awake, the stocking have been emptied and Mommy and Daddy are ready to lead the way ...

my kids are son 20 and daughter 16.
daughter- lip balm, stickers, underwater camera for cruise, deodorant, other small stuff, candy, magazine or book
son - batteries (he goes thru tons of them), deodorant, toy-ambulance, firetrucks-he collects them, a magazine or a book, maybe candy, but he is allergic to peanuts so can't have a lot of chocolate or other candies, and other small stuff
I wrap most of the stuff that I put in their stockings.

The older mine get the harder it is to fill the stocking.

DS(20) gets grocery food card (lives on his own), phone card, restaurant gc, ornament for his tree, earbuds for cd player along with batteries, then the usual chapstick, candy, etc.

DD(16) Disney $ for her trip in JAN., jewelry, makeup, ornament for her tree, movie gc, Best Buy gc, earbuds/batteries for cd player, etc.

I usually have a little something stuck in a special ornamental box stuffed in the toe of the stocking.

DD has a stocking that is bigger than she is! Grandma fills and she get to open it Christmas eve - huge production. We listen for Santa on the scanner. We heard a noise at the front door (while DD is in the kitchen). We hollar for her and we she gets to the front door there is this huge sticking on the front porch. Sometimes Sants drops his hat. If there is Snow, we see boot prints. (I know we are all a little crazy - the whole family is involved).

Because of the size, the gifts are not wrapped.

I wrap all of my daughters stocking gifts. I think the stocking is the best part of Christmas. So many little treasures.

The only thing I have left to buy is stocking stuffers, everything else is done. However this is what I've got so far:

DD 10 & 7 - Hair scrunchies, headbands, Earring tree, Earrings, Lip Balm, stickers, stamps and stamp pad, things for a new student desk we bought her for Christmas...push pins, paper clips, stapler. Pencils and Pens, CD's, DVD's, Gift certificates to the movie theater, McDonalds.

:wave2:

Kathy - I love your idea! What a hoot! :p

I'm always at a loss for ideas for stocking gifts, so keep the ideas coming!

there is always a small stuffed animal sticking out of the top of the stockings~ dd8~gets lip gloss, a chapter book, candy, hair things, some kind of jewelry. ds-3.5~ matchbox cars, candy, flash cards and they both get arts and craft stuff. DH gets fishing lures, hunting stuff and lottery tickets, and usually deoderant and gc to some of his favorite fast food joints. Mine my husband does~ usually filled to the hilt with bath and body stuff. I have sensitive skin so I can only use the hand cream and foot cream and lip balm from there but he always buy out that store. I swear those girls see him coming and he agrees to everything.:hyper:

I don't have children but I do have a cousin that I get things for. This year it consists of lip gloss, candy canes, fingernail polish, fun pad, and crayons. I love putting it together every year.

My kids (all boys are 23, 22 and 12). They always get a new toothbrush, gum, tic tacs, altoids and pez. We usually put in gift cards for movie rentals, batteries, deodorant, that kind of stuff.

I do not wrap the gifts.

I've gotten everything from books(last year was a part of LOTR) to cd's and movie passes.

last year's:

box of Hot Tamales
part 1 of LOTR
Harry Potter and the Socer's Stone book
TTT soundtrack
Buffy action figure and Angel comic book
Celtic cross necklace(I collect them)

I do not wrap the stuff for DS's (2) stocking. But I do wrap for DH and DMIL. DS gets little cars, a few candies. I also got him some silly songs cd's and a little Christmas cup and straw.

DH can't post he is a member...He would love that!!

DMIL lotions, shower gels and a few candy things.

When I was younger my mom and dad always put an apple, and orange, mixed nuts & hard candy. We never got present type things in our stockings.

We sometimes do stocking stuffers for the adults. My favorite to put in the stockings is "Shout Wipes". They're individually wrapped spot remover wipes. Always a big hit! really!

my dh and i each have stockings at my mom's. :D we usually get godiva chocolate and a couple of gift certificates (clothes, restaurants, movies, etc).

Our DS will be almost 6 months for Christmas and he's getting three board books in his stocking. I'll probably give him candy in there when he's old enough for candy.

I had to laugh at the shout wipes. I'm thinking about doing stockings for my mom and sister this year and had already decided to include Mr. Clean Magic Erasers!

I love the stocking stuffers
There has to be at least one candy cane in everyone's stocking
for the baby (will be 6 mo dd) I have bibs, teething toys, socks, sippy cup, xmas stuffed bear

for dd8 I have chapstick, socks, 2 pair gold earrings, hair bands, hair elastics. Think I will also add lip gloss, pokemon cards, and some candy.

for puppy dog biscuits, treats, & a new toy or two
Cat also has a stocking will get treats and cat nip
Santa also leaves something under the tree for the cat & dog
Dog is getting a new collar & leash and cat will probably get a window seat.

DH is getting disney trading cards, socks, chapstick, digital tape measure, gum, and a new cd

Now if I could just find socks for the cat & dog I would have socks for everyone
