Stitch's Great Escape...A Mom and Me Birthday Celebration! *7/26 Link to new PTR*

Day 2...Continued!

Our first stop was Club Cool. It's the first time we stopped to enjoy the taste testing at EPCOT. However, it was the same selection as we sampled at the Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta. We once again had a lot of fun doing it. My favorite flavor was the one from Mexico. It was very cool, light and refreshing. We spent about ten minutes testing, mixing different flavors together and then trying them out again. Sorry, no Beverly pictures here. Stitch all too well remembered it from our test testing in Atlanta. Ha ha ha.

After way too much soda, we headed back out to redo a few of our favorites. Figment was tops on Stitch's list, so it was the first place we headed. Here are some photos we took along the way.

Then we had a left over fast pass for Test Track to use so we took one last wild ride. I have to laugh...but just how did this picture posted in the test track fast pass queue area pass the Disney censors?

Stitch as we were waiting to enter the TT pre show.

After riding TT one last time, we were ready to call it a day (and it wasn't even dinner time yet). By we, I mean Stitch, he was much more interested on heading back to the resort to do a bit of relaxing (and since this was his 'party', I was letting him call almost all of the shots). He wanted to stop and look for some toys on our way out and while we were in the store I saw (and had to buy one) these wonderfully "DISish" Mickey ears! LIME GREEN MICKEY EARS! How awesome is that?! I think they may have just been a St. Patrick's Day offering...has anyone seen them since? I wish I would have bought a few more of them when I saw them (they would make great surprises for a few DISers I know).

My little DISer-in-training.

As we continued to make our way out of the park we stopped once again to enjoy Spaceship Earth. I didn't take any video this time (I forgot to change the setting from snapshots to movies and couldn't find the right button in the dark) but I did snap a picture of our 'flying heads' on the big screen after you exit the ride. I am the one of the bottom and ds is the higher one. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

On our way out we once again stopped for some photopass pictures.

One quick bus ride later (thank you Casitas bus stop for being the first stop on the way back) and an even quicker walk from the bus stop to our building and we were back at our room. Upon arrival we found one very friendly and brightly adorned towel creation awaiting our return.
wdwmarch09045.jpg

Stitch absolutely loved him! Stitch named him T.C. (short for Towel Clown ).
wdwmarch09046.jpg

A view of the room (and a very happy boy).

Another view of the room.

The wooden doors were on rollers. You could close off the bathroom/dressing area from the rest of the room.

After a two hour nap (which both of us throughly enjoyed) we made our way down to El Centro and once again dined at the Pepper Market where I enjoyed tasty beef fajitas while Stitch once again had the kid's pizza meal.

We followed dinner up with some more shopping (the CSR has a very big gift shop) and a slow stroll around the resort. We stopped to soak our feet in the hot tub and it felt divine doing so. :thumbsup2

Finally, we headed back to our room, turned on Disney Channel and watched Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place (yes, Stitch will, in fact, admit that he enjoys these shows  ). After a an hour of each show, we were ready to call it a night.

Tomorrow we had a big day planned at one of Stitch's very favorite places...Disney's Animal Kingdom!

To Be Continued...

It's good to have you back, Jay.

I LOVE this picture!

It sounds like you had a great day at Epcot! Stitch must have been in heaven getting to call most of the shots and do all his favorites over and over again. What a lucky boy!

I'm happy to see you posted today.....and that you are hanging in there. You have such a wonderful outlook on life. I'm glad you are doing okay.

It sounds like you and Stitch had a great day at Epcot. That Kim Possible adventure sounds like so much fun. I definitely want to try that when we finally go back someday.

Oh I see you guys leave for DC soon. I would love to hear about it when you get back. I want to take my kids there someday.

I"m glad your back! :grouphug:

Looks like a wonderful day in Epcot! Stitch must have been in heaven not having to share or consider anyone else's feelings in what he wanted to see and do during the day!! Talk about a dream come true! And for you! A whole day of no fighting over who's turn it was to use the Kimmunicator!! :rotfl: A mom/son trip like that sounds perfect!! :thumbsup2

Glad you are feeling a bit better :goodvibes. Loved the update and pictures. You and Stitch got so much done in Epcot this day. The towel clown is cute too.

Glad to see you back! You have such a positive attitude, it will help you through anything, even a time as difficult as this.:flower3: Loved the Epcot installment!

Hi Jay! It was good to see your latest post... I know these past weeks have been a very hard time.
I love that you and Stitch just wandered and enjoyed doing whatever he wanted to do. I didn't know about the sandwiches at Norway, I will remember this... and the school bread! :)
I had to laugh when you said that by the end of the the day you stopped at the hot tub and soaked your feet! We did the same thing on our last day and it was wonderful! I remember my feet felt like I had encased them in cement, they were so worn out.
T.C. is so cute and Stitch playing with him on his bed is sweet. :goodvibes Love those CM's and their towel creations!

Hi Jay,
Glad to see you're back. I absolutely loved the photo of you and Stitch at Epcot, it has love written all over it. Looks like you had a wonderful day together. I would love to take a trip with each of my daughters as well, It would be amazing. Your opinions on the resort are so helpful as we are considering it for our next stay. I too am an AKL lover.:lovestruc As always, I am enjoying your tr, can't wait for more. My prayers are with you and your family.

Patti

wow...you rode a lot of rides!! You mentioned St Patricks Day...was your trip around then and how were the crowds. We are thinking about going in early Feb before the value season ends but my parents might want to go in March instead if they go to Jamaica in Feb (i know rough life right??)

We are hoping for lower crowds and a little better temps (better than 20 degress in Ohio at that time anyways ;))

What a fun trip! As my family is contuing to grow I treasure any one on one time I have with my kids. To have that time at Disney to boot... AWESOME!

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I know this has been a pretty long battle for him. I send prayers and peace to you and your family.

That looks like an awesome day at Epcot. I can't wait til my kids are a little older and we can do Kim Possible missions too.

I am so glad to see you back in action. That chicken salad looks delish. I'll be looking for it when we go.

You are such a good person. You know where your priorities lie and where you are needed and when. Kudo's to you.
Ginny

I am so glad your'e back. We all missed you!:grouphug: I will continue to pray for you and your family.

I can't believe how much you accomplished in one day at Epcot! It takes us a whole day just to get through Future World. I guess it makes a difference when there are only 2 people. Great update!

Glad your back! Great update. I cannot remember the date you were there w/Stitch, but the crowds look low. I cannot wait to go back in the off season!! I remember riding splash mtn several times in a row back in Sept. 03. Yesterday, I got a post card with a pin for kids stay free w/free dining as well as a bridal magazine supplement to a mag I subscribe to. I joked and told DH that we were going to renew our wedding vows for our 20th (in 2 years) at the WP at the GF!!:bride: He told me I better loose some weight:eek: - which I need to! Maybe he'll consider the offer???? The updated CSR rooms look very nice. I like new the sliders to the bathrooms. Looking forward to more.

Welcome back, Jay!! We missed you!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that first picture of you & Stitch. How sweet is that!

What a busy day at EPCOT. I was exhausted just reading about it.

Can't wait to hear more.

Hugs to you all.

Barb

With a day of fun awaiting us, we almost skipped into the park. We were both excited with the possibility of doing just about whatever we wanted this day. I was happy for the chance to make one of my boys' happy without having to balance in what was good for everyone else in the family as well. For Stitch, it was a rare opportunity to set out not to cooperate with your brothers and parents but to pick and choose to please only yourself (and he did so with a great big happy smile on his face). Here is a picture that a Photopass CM took at the very start of our day.

What a great day! Great photo too-loved all your photos!

In less than 2 weeks I'll be at WDW with my DS(8) leaving his sisters (9 & 6) at home so I can relate to the day of possibilities you describe. I love our family trips-watching my children make memories together but my one on one trips with my children are really special too.

glad you're back Jay!

how fun your whole vacation must have been for Stitch. He must have felt like a prince! :cloud9: i asked for a Disney vacation from my parents for my graduation present, and it looks like it will be a rather large group of us going...but part of me wishes it was just my mother and i. And yes, i am 22 years old, .

This is so great! That picture of the two of you with his head on yours is just adorable -- you both look great and just in love with the day. :lovestruc

I'm really enjoying this Mom and Me and the relaxation that you two are feeling is bleeding right through the screen to me!! :cloud9:

Can't wait for more!!!!!! popcorn::

Fabulous pictures! You got so much done. You can tell that Stitch was having such a great time.
