Stitch's Great Escape...A Mom and Me Birthday Celebration! *7/26 Link to new PTR*

You guys had a blast in AK! I love that you rode EE so many times.... that hill is the best! :thumbsup2
Your sock/croc statement is very fashionable ;), I've been know to embarass my kids wearing footies with flipflops... just out in the yard or to do the carpooling or going to get gas in the car.... :rotfl:
You and Stitch have made some great memories, I can't wait to hear where you are dining!

In regards to the kim possible adventure, do you get to choose your own country when you start? Now that i've seen that youtube video, i'd love to do a country other than germany!

Loving all the pictures I always enjoy your TRs! Cant wait to hear about your dinner that night!

Great update! I hope to see your big night real soon;). It is great you got to ride EE so many times. I kept my eyes closed when we went backwards. I wish we could have gone again so I could open my eyes!! Your PP pics are great. It's neet that you ordered the book so Stitch can have it for the rest of his life - smart Mom :thumbsup2.

What great day! I love this Mommy & Me Trip!

What kind of Camera do you have, it takes great pictures and I love that it is waterproof!

What a great day you guys had! My son's very favorite ride of all the parks is EE. He absolutely loves that ride. I liked it too, but I rode with my daughter and she was grasping my hand so tight I was more focused on making sure she was okay. I would love to ride it again.

I can't wait to hear what you have up your sleeve for the evening.

I'm on a hunt for good March dates...what were yours? It sounds like you had an EMPTY day at AK!

Hey Jay! I'm really sorry about your Dad. I haven't been reading any posts in a while so it really took me by suprise when I read what happened. I hope everyone is doing well.

I am loving your updates on this trip. It looks like you guys got real lucky with the no waiting! I did have one food question for you though. Normally I am not a fan of asian food but those lettuce cups are just drawing me in. Now is the chicken or sauce very spicy? How would you describe it since that is what I think I have to try for my upcoming birthday trip!

What a great day at AK!!! Just hearing about Yak & Yeti made me hungry. Super yummy.

Can't wait for Stitch's surprise!! :goodvibes

great day at AK! you got some amazing pictures! C

Jay All I can say is Bravo you are the worlds coolest mom I really mean that!! Stitich is so happy and you guys having alone time is wonderful. When we go to WDW sometimes My eldest and I sneak away and go to the parks alone and its such a special time. Yak and Yeti looks wonderful however my husband is not a fan of chinese food. This time when we go we are using the counter service plan so we are only going to 3 sit downs since we have to pay out of pocket Chef mickeys(dinner) Never been there for dinner, T-Rex and Ohana. Can't wait to read more

You really know how to bring out the lurkers! Your trip reports are the best! I've enjoyed reading them very much.:flower3:

I've picked up some great ideas from you and I can't wait to plan another trip to WDW! Thank you Jay! Your family is wonderful and you are all very blessed.

What a great day at Animal Kingdom! too funny that you rode EE four times :goodvibes. I have a question for you? Around what time did you leave AK that day? I really hope we are able to see some of those characters, Thomas just loves Flik.

Looks like you both had a wonderful day! :thumbsup2

I was wondering how drenched you were after riding Kali River Rapids? My 12 year old wants to ride it in Sept. IF ( and this is a big IF) you can cover yourself pretty well with a poncho I'll try to take her on it. I just don't want to walk around in the humidity of Sept. soaked all day but I also don't want to freeze on the bus back to the resort at the end of the day either. :confused3

Great update and pics!:)

Wow, you hit the character jackpot as you were leaving AK!

I can't believe how much you got accomplished, the crowds must have been amazingly low. Sounds like March is a good time to go when Easter is later. :thumbsup2

Wow! This is the first time I've read any of your TRs and I'm hooked! I'll definitely be going back in time to catch up on your others.

Thanks for the great description of CSR. It has always looked like a great resort to me and now I know that I would like to stay there. I'm with you about the buses. I'd rather drive my own car any day.

I was sorry to read about the loss of your father. If your TR is any indication, then you have the support of your family and friends during a difficult time.

Looking forward to you next update, but in the meantime, I'll go read about your other adventures in WDW.

Jay, I'm very sorry for the loss of your dad.

We are in the process of moving so I haven't been able to keep up - how wonderful to have a couple of updates to read!

I have been missing the World, and today I booked a trip for us this fall!:woohoo: I have a few questions for you about cakes and club level; if you don't mind, I will pm you in a few days. I'm typin this wiith one hand as I have a sleeping toddler on my lap.

Can't wait to read your next installment!

Great update! My whole family would think it was wonderful to ride EE 4 times in a row. It has become my ALL TIME favorite ride. I have always loved BTMR, but EE is the best.
I admire that you rode KRR twice. It is NOT my favorite. I suppose if it was a wish of my kiddos I would (that was the only way I have rode it in the past). I'm not a fan of getting drenched and then continuing with the rest of the day.
Wet thighs=chaffing:sad2:Not good!
Can't wait to hear the rest!

It is just so nice that you got to ride EE so many times and alone on KRR! It looked like Stitch got dried off quickly. Yak and Yeti sounds good. I really enjoy the lettuce cups at PF Chang's. I'm sure I'd like them at Y&Y.
You've got some great photos again. I especially like the ones with the characters.
Along with the low crowds, I know I owe our ability to enjoy so many attractions with little to no wait to Tour Guide Mike. I am a big believer in his touring suggestions and I would really hesitate to go back to WDW without his planning 'help' in the future. Even just his 'least crowded parks' lists are so helpful to me. At first I found his site a bit confusing but after seeing the results during our trips, I just learned my way around there and have come to very highly value his advice.

Oh what fun you were having. Absolutely great pics. Stitch appears to have thouroughly enjoyed the day. What wonderful treat do you have in store for him tonite? I know it will be amazing.

I know there are those of us who being a parent is the most important job we have in this life and then you get grandkids and get to make up for any imperfection you might have had the first time around. Lucky me. I got that chance and it has just brought me that much closer to my 2 DD's.

We are now just 25 days out from our surprise trip. It is getting harder to keep the secret from the grandsons. My younger daughter and I have made all the plans and booked all our meals and are thinking of ways to tell her husband and her older sis on the big day. We (older daughter, younger daughter and me) talk/text every Saturday morning and we'll be flying so we will have to come up with a good excuse why we can't have our morning chat. Of course by that time older daughter's husband will have told her they are going to Disney (she just won't know we'll be joining her) and she will want to talk. A lot.... It's going to be interesting.

I am sure you deep in planning Goofy's big birthday. I know you will come up with a really fun time for him as well.
Ginny
Good luck keeping the secret...it's so hard to do (if you are a surprise keeping big mouth like me) but it's oh so worth it in the end. I have found my best bet is to just not say anything rather than to try to come up with ways to cover up what I am doing. That trips me up EVERY single time. I cannot stop babbling and eventually, once I start to talk about a surprise in order to cover it up, I just let it slip right out.

Such a fun day at DAK! I love all the photopass pics and the self portrait on KRR cracks me up! Looking forward to the surprise dinner tonight!
As soon as our scanner is connected (dh needs to hop to it), I will scan in the picture we purchased at EE. It's even funnier. ;)

I'm so sorry for your loss

What a lucky boy Stitch is!!!!!! Memories to last a lifetime :goodvibes
Thanks Blue. :goodvibes And yes, I do hope that those memories last a lifetime and more! I loved every second of my special time with him! I truly think that I was the lucky one.:thumbsup2

HA HA HA 'very fashionable'. I know it looked very odd and not at all flattering, but my feet didn't blister, rub or hurt at the end of the day so that more than made up for it in my book.

What a great day! Love your photos of KRR!!! Great shirt too!:thumbsup2
KRR is really beautiful and I always think that water raft rides are fun, the only thing I don't like about KRR is that it is over so quickly. I wish it lasted longer!

In regards to the kim possible adventure, do you get to choose your own country when you start? Now that i've seen that youtube video, i'd love to do a country other than germany!

Loving all the pictures I always enjoy your TRs! Cant wait to hear about your dinner that night!
I believe that you can ask not to have a certain country if you have already done it but I have also heard that they have multiple adventures per country so even if you get one you have done and/or seen on YouTube and/or heard about it is likely different than the one you are assigned.

I kept my eyes closed when I first rode EE a few years ago. HA HA HA. I really did, sealed shut tighter than a painted over window. But after my first few times on the ride I opened them up and haven't even blinked since. ;) I love the feeling of spiraling backward, it's so much fun!

I will post some pictures of the photobook toward the end of the trip report. :)

What great day! I love this Mommy & Me Trip!

What kind of Camera do you have, it takes great pictures and I love that it is waterproof!
I have a cheapy Pentax as my waterproof one, I picked it just to 'try out' waterproof pictures and have since fallen in love with it and wished I would have invested in a nicer one. It's the one I take into the parks because it's also 'shock proof', dust proof and very slim so it fits easily in my pocket or hangs around my wrist without weighing me down (and can taking a banging while it's hanging there).

The next camera I buy will be a 'nicer' waterproof one. I love the freedom of being able to take it out in the ocean, on water rides and shot pictures in the rain. :thumbsup2

Poor thing. The first time I rode EE, I almost chickened out and didn't ride it. Honestly, I was certain that it was going to be the death of me and started to chicken out. I was saved from my own self (and irrational fears) by the ride starting just before I threw my hands in the air and waved the platform attendants over to 'rescue' me. :lmao::rotfl: How very glad I am that I never got that chance to chicken out!

I'm on a hunt for good March dates...what were yours? It sounds like you had an EMPTY day at AK!
We were there 3/6-3/13. Due to both the economy and (more so) Easter being so late in the year (so most spring breaks were falling later as well) we really lucked out!

Hey Jay! I'm really sorry about your Dad. I haven't been reading any posts in a while so it really took me by suprise when I read what happened. I hope everyone is doing well.

I am loving your updates on this trip. It looks like you guys got real lucky with the no waiting! I did have one food question for you though. Thanks. We are all doing just about as well as anyone could be doing right about now. The boys are still having a hard time with the fact that they won't be able to go and visit grandpa anymore but they are really good boys and they are also very happy that he is not in pain anymore and that he is 'home' now.

Spice yes, heat no on the lettuce cups. I am a real wimp when it comes to hot things (as in peppers, wasabi, etc) and I have no trouble at all with them. The cool, crisp lettuce cups really set the spicy chicken mixture off well. I don't remember if the sauce had any 'bite' so to speak which leads me to think that even if it did, it was set off once again by the cooling lettuce cups and the cool sprouts and carrot curls served with the dish. Hope that helped (and sorry for not having a more precise answer). ;)

What a great day at AK!!! Just hearing about Yak & Yeti made me hungry. Super yummy.

Can't wait for Stitch's surprise!! :goodvibes
It was a great day. I loved every minute of our day at AK! And Yak and Yeti makes me hungry too. Thinking about it is not good on an empty stomach.

Looks like you guys had a great day!! Can't wait to hear about Stitch's surprise!
That will be coming up very shortly. I am working on the next installment now.

great day at AK! you got some amazing pictures! C
I loved the KRR pictures and the Photopass pictures. It was a treat to have pictures of myself at WDW too. Usually I am almost exclusively behind the camera so it was good to have pictures to prove I was there too. :rotfl:
