I have heard from some of my friends that stitches great escape is not a good ride and is not worth going on can anyone tell me different. :earsboy:

The best way to decide if it is good or bad would be to find a time when there is not a line and experience it yourself. We went on it during MVMCP when the line was very minimal. I thought the ride was OK. I had heard so many negative things about it that I didn't have very high expectations. It did outweigh those expectations, however. I did not like the original ride though. This said, I wouldn't put Stitch on my list of "must-dos".

Actually I prefer Sux. Sux in a big way. Creates a perfect vacuum. But hey.... that's just me.

Sadly, I agree it's not up to Disney quality. I've done it once, and until management gives it back in imagineering, with a full budget this time and stays the heck out of their way for proper development I won't be going back.

Chaulk this one up the the bean counters over ruling the creative talent and this is a great example of building a theme park 'on the cheap' :(

The animatronic Stitch is really cool.

The overall attraction is ........................ lacking.

i Like the stitch ride but it needs something to make more thrilling and more stitch like. I kinda felt i was on a universal ride, not a disney. I did like it more than alien encounter, though. It is a good idea to put stitch in a ride, because his popularity but to have stitch in a ride it just needs to be stitch. Hopefully, as the ride get older, it get better. :flower: :sunny:

Hubby and I went on it when we were there for the marathon. We were not impressed. I swear the hubby was going to cry when they took the Alien attraction away.

Well, I figure at least Stich will teach kids to spit...

The Stich animatronic is great, but it cant overcome the long periods in the dark when absolutly nothing is happening. Hopefully the redesign will fix it. As it is right now, I AE was a better attraction.

Except that Universal actually puts thought, creativity and real money to create an attraction these days

We were on the ride for the AP "preview" and found it sadly lacking. The "Alien" ride was *MUCH* better! I would rather stand in line for the Buzz Lightyear ride than the Stitch Great Escapes ride...for the fun of it escaped me... :rotfl:

Lacking is a good word.
I have been in SGE three times.
The first time because it was AP preview and NEW! :cool1:
Second and third time -- no line. I have a hard time resisting a ride or attraction that is walk in! :rotfl:

I haven't returned.

The SGE pins were better than the ride. :teeth:

SGE HAD a lot of potential. But now it appears to be fulfilling only for a small segment of guests.

I would like to see the guest numbers comparing AE and SGE.

I went during an AP "preview" in November. The ride in and of itself would make any little kid happy. The special effects were fine, some a bit scary for the little guys but mostly silly.

Bottom line; kids will enjoy it, adults...enh...not so much.

The smell of the 'chili bar" was nauseating.

It's quite disjointed, with confusing flow. It tries really hard to not be too scary for little kids (and fails) and to not be too boring for big kids (and fails.)

I wasn't a big fan of Alien Encounter, simply because I thought it was misplaced in the Magic Kingdom. Had it been a Studios attraction, I think I would have enjoyed it more. But, the concept is a good one. It just needs the right execution. I think they can tweak Stitch and get it there, but it would be a big tweak. OK, perhaps a total do-over.

It's the same ride as alien encounter with a different theme!!!!

Well, Ifor one, am glad they are only redoing one theater right now and running the ride at half-capacity for the time being. This ride will be the first fast pass I grab next month just because I want to see it already. Great or not, I love Stitch and don't want to miss this ride - heck, I've done everything else in the Kingdom countless times (except PhilHarMagic) so I might as well see something new.

Manning, I'm not sure if you were responding directly to my post. Or, if you were just making a comment in general.

I kept waiting for the ride to move. I knew that it had to move because of the harresses.I've been back home for two weeks and I'm still waiting for the ride to move. Will it ever move? The dumbo ride has more thrill on it. Some one please spin me around in my chair and call your self 626? :smooth: :sad2:

Imagine if Eisner had "total creative" control over a project and then cut the budget by 50%. Then cut it again.

That's what to expect from this ride.

I'm being incredibly unfair and I am just kidding.

The worst I have heard from this ride is that young children may be frightened as they have changed few of the effects when the lights go out. This of course was one of the most thrilling aspects of the ride when it was "Alien Encounter", and like that ride it may be too much for small children.

Otherwise, from what I gather, most people are simply turned off by the attempt to "retread" the old AE attraction with a "Stitch" theme. That in itself effectively "neutered" the ride for many fans of the old AE.

I still suggest you try it for yourself. Judging from other folks, I wouldn't wait too long in line, though.
