Stitch Replacement?

I hope it's not true, but Jim Hill in the Disney Dish podcast hinted that the new attraction would inherit the circular seating of the old Stitch/Alien/Mission to Mars theater and the guests will be watching some kind of projected 3D racing simulation in the center where the Stitch AA is now.

That sounds worse than what's there now....and that's hard to accomplish.

Yes it would be a simulator attraction.

From what I've heard it's better but probably anything is better than what's there now. It wouldn't be exactly same as it is now either.

It sounded to me like he said you would sit on motion platforms so you would feel the motion but he also said it would be a low capacity attraction which seems useless in MK.

I've heard it will have a higher capacity than stitch has but won't be a high capacity attraction.

The slapdash add a simulator with the Stitch animatronic idea sounds terrible. When I meant I wanted the animatronic to stay I meant relocated not kept

I gather then that they don't intend to drastically alter the shape and configuration of the current building, expanding horizontally or vertically, but they're going to shoehorn something into the existing footprint.

That could be very limiting and it doesn't make me optimistic that it will result in a very interesting ride.

I made this picture based on Bing maps bird's eye view ... it shows how severe the constraints are. It's what I THINK the layout is. Maybe somebody can correct it if it's wrong ...

No it would be about a year to a year and a half where the attraction is down. The queue would change themes of course but stay mostly the same layout wise. Stitch's two theaters would be converted to the wreck it Ralph simulators.

I didn't go back and listen again but I thought that he said it would be configured for 30 people per theater. Doesn't the current attraction hold significantly more than that?

I haven't done SGE in quite some time. No great loss there. I don't get why they would replace it with another low-capacity slow loader though.

Because of the beauty that is crappy 3D imaging I honestly thought that was Star Wars concept art

Stitch definitely deserves a bigger and better dark ride, for sure! I still love SGE, but if they do take it away, I really hope they give Stitch a new attraction. I'll be soooo sad if I don't have a Stitch attraction! He's my favorite!!!

Honestly, I'd like to see test track turned into Sugar rush. They already have the little "design your car" thing before the ride. How cool would a themed overlay be there. Might have to slow don't the max speed for the little kids though....Even I'm too nervous about "thrill' rides to ride it!

That would actually be a more realistic update for Tomorrowland Speedway...though not if they change out Stitch for a Ralph attraction.

I totally agree. How can you leave that little fella out? DS and I love Stitch. He's our favorite too! We love the movie. Such a strong meaning about love and family. :stitch:
