Stitch Replacement?

This was the first ride we went on at Disney World because our whole family is huge Stitch fans. We left slightly disappointed. We have older kids so they weren't scared but it was annoying and a little boring. I would love to see Stitch get a dark ride like Mr. Toad's where you're riding in Lilo's big wheel.

Great movie, funny cheesy ride you can mock with your loved ones the entire vacation long. :rolleyes2 My fiancé and I kept making jokes about Stich spitting on everyone and the sound he makes when he does that!

I can't imagine anything replacing Stitch in any short amount of time unless it used the same concept/theatre as Stitch did (since the Stich ride is using the same general equipment all the previous attractions there were using). It took how long to change the Maeslstrom boat ride to the Frozen boat ride?

If its going to be a screen based simulator, that will cut down on the time needed. The detailed work and the animtronics is what takes Disney forever.

That would be a shame .. I can go to Universal or Dave and Busters if I want a screen-based simulator.

Either way, based on Disney's timelines lately (between Disney Springs, Pandora, Frozen Ever After, Rivers of Light) . .I wouldn't expect anything in less than 2 years from any sort of official announcement.

Just a personal theory but I thought the timelines could've been them focusing a lot on preventing Shanghai from being a disaster like Euro and just a small loss like Hong Kong was. Or prevent another yeti like incident

I rode it last trip for the first time just because we were walking around it thought, "why not?" We hadn't ridden it and the line looked ok.

I haven't really seen the Stitch movie or anything, but I thought it was cute for kids.

If you get a chance, please do watch the movie. It's a great family movie. One of my favorite Disney Character's and movie.

My son loves Stitch starting about that age. Now is 7. Every time we go to DW he picks a Stitch toy out. Will ride but its not his favorite.

My DS is 15 and still loves Stitch the most.

I need to... I need to catch up on a lot of them!

My niece is 10 now and going on 16, so it's tough!

Honestly I don't really considering the Stitch attraction to be a ride. it's more of a show to me, like The Tiki Room or Country Bears. My daughter has a shoulder replacement and whenever the "safety bars" suddenly press down during Stitches escape it hurts her. I wish there was a way to go on it without dealing with those.

There's actually not that many of them in Disney
One would be too many in my opinion. Between Disney and Universal which are the only 2 parks I frequent, it seems to be all we ever get. I was sooo disappointed when MS opened. That kind of stuff isn't a ride. I would much prefer a dark ride. At least Universal is starting to combine the two. If it's not a simulator it's a 3D movie where if your lucky, the seat might jiggle. I'm over it.

So ready for that ride to go! Anything else would be welcomed! Like Lilo and Stich, but don't care for the ride.

I had an idea about a Stitch rescue, not a replacement:

  1. Come up with 8-10 new story lines, half geared to younger kids (4-10), half to tweets and teens. Of course, the writing and implementation must be excellent.
  2. Schedule them to be chosen at random. This encourages repeat riders.
  3. Schedule a switch-off in the evening. During the day, it would be "Stitch's Surfing Vacation", emphasis on the water, sun light, music, and tropical smells (bring back the orange aroma from Horizons). Only the 4-10 programs play.
  4. During the evenings, it becomes "Stitch's Space Nightmare", more darkness, more emphasis on the coarser humor, fear factors, and disgusting odors. Only the tween/teen programs play.
  5. Reprogram or redesign the seats to be more comfortable and less confining.
