Stinky day !! My Aunt just e-mailed me to tell me she can't make it in December !!

We are 19 days out and I now have a room empty ! How does holding work if I cancel the room ? Never thought I'd have to do that !! Points don't expire until the end of my use year right? (June use year so May 31st right?)

Should I just spread my family out ? We currently have 7 in the 2 bedroom and 4 in the other studio. One studio empty, should I move my sister to her own room instead of sharing with other sister and her DH ?

Ugh !! God love my Aunt since she has a very valid reason for canceling but UGH !!!

Spread out the family, especially if your 7 are all adults! We had a family of 5 adults in a two bedroom, and well lets just say it was snug.

After a call to MS, I have canceled since we were able to finagle some points around and bank the remaining points. I hope someone gets in !

How were you able to bank points rather than have them go into holding? Normally points freed up by cancelling in 30 days or less go into holding and can only be used to book something within 60 days of check in. The points would be good until the end of the current UY only, in other words, not bankable.

They were able to switch some points around for my January vacation (within 60 days of it now) to use the holding points for that and free up current use year points. I wasn't sure it would work but I'm glad it did. I guess it pays to have so many vacations coming up and so close together.

I actually have two trips planned for within 60 days of now. I wouldn't have canceled if they were going into holding since I know I wouldn't have been able to use them. but since it worked out, I am very happy and it all wokred out great. Banking those points abled me to add another night to my Sep/09 vacation.
