If you live in PA you know what these are.....Has anyone had any success in getting rid of or killing these things?!?!?!?! I saw on the news the different traps they had. I just want a bottle of something to kill them. Last year we had a bad fight against them and finally used the vacuum to get rid of them. There has to be something out there that can kill them. My Husband did a science experiment with 4 of them. He put two in a sealed bottle and two in a sealed bottle with water. The ones in the water died after 1 day but the others in the bottle lived for 3 days w/o air. Don't ask me why he did that..:confused3 Is there anything out there?

We've been seeing these in the house recently. The most important thing to do is to make sure that your foundation is sealed. They get in through the little cracks in the cement. Whatever you do, don't kill them. The smell attracts others and you will never get reprieve. I usually catch and flush.

I heard that you shouldn't squish them. I capture and flush too! I can't imagine how many are in the sewer system now. I have a friend that works in hospital and said they are starting to look into stink bugs and their relation to upper respiratory problems that are on the rise.:confused3 Not sure about that one.

We have them here too in Maryland. I heard recently that they are testing some sort of wasp that they hope will help deal with the problem. I had one in my house the other day. I don't even open my windows because they seem to get in very easily.

:rotfl2: Good one!!! I know mamamary!!! They get in even when the windows are closed. We are looking for any cracks anywhere!

I saw on the news a guy that created a trap with just empty 2 liter pop bottles. Check it out! It seems to work. He has instructions on Youtube and it is cheaper than Exterm. http://www.wpxi.com/news/27939762/detail.html

Check it out!

Ewwww - it said in 10 hours he caught 200 stinkbugs - I think i'd move - lol.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I know, Right!!!!!! So far we have been getting few here and there. But for me ONE is enough!!!!!!

We seem to get 1 in the house every day... but last summer we were at a playground maybe 10 miles from here and they were there by the THOUSANDS. Nobody stayed at the park it was so bad. You could see people get out of their cars and then get right back in.

We already had a monthly contract with Terminix, but I've asked the service guy to also start spraying all around the inside and outside edges of the windows, opening them and getting the sills, too.

The stink bugs still get in, but by the time they've squeezed through the cracks, they've picked up enough of the Terminix poison that they're already sluggish and dying; they don't get much farther than the blinds or curtains and they almost never start flying around.

Update on that Stink bug trap! The trap works well and the news said that Home Depot is sold out of the supplies to make them! The have a table now with all the supplies to make one!!!

Big Cuddly- I would have run away screaming!!! I can't imagine that!!!

Stitch- You may want to check out the home made ones. I absolutely abhore when they are flying around the light! :scared1:

I'm in Maryland. Keeping your windows closed won't solve the problem. I work on the 3rd floor of an office building (windows don't open) and we keep finding them.

A friend of mine found one in her sealed electric meter on the side of house. No idea how that one got in.

Nothing out there is successful in killing them. In experiments, 1/2 of the stink bugs appeared to be dead, but the next day were alive again.

The wasp that they are talking about scares the heck out of me. Introducing something else that may not have a predator is very risky. Next thing you know, we will be looking for ways to get rid of the wasp.

Just keeping catching them and tossing them in the toilet. Absolutely do not put them outside where they continue to breed.

Last year, I must have had 200 on the windows that I look out of at my office. This year is supposed to be worse.

We are infested with them. They got into our attic and seem to come down through the ceiling fan. It is horrid! Even the cat knows better then to mess with them. Drowning is the only thing that has worked so far.

:rotfl: Last summer, my cat caught one and the stink got all over his head. He was so upset. That was the end of his stink bug hunting days :goodvibes.

Catching and toilet seem to be the best suggestions for them. The stink bug trap also keeps you from having to touch them. For those who are squeamish like me! I am afraid of the wasp idea too, disney 1990! You know that will be what is next! Even though I abhor the stink bugs. I think i would prefer them to wasps!
