Still Sassy after all this time!

Good Morning Sassies!

Tricia, please tell us you're packed. Have a wonderful trip if I don't see you before you leave.

Today's trivia, it was ONE year ago yesterday, my Mom had the surgury, as of today, cancer free. no chemo, no radiation. Thank you all for your prayers, ears, eyes, and friendship.

First Judi let me say :woohoo::yay::thumbsup2:cool1::cheer2: for your mom. That's wonderful news and prayers really do work. Are you going to celebrate with a camperless weekend of fun. Is that this weekend or July 4th weekend?

Second nope, I'm not packed yet. That's on my agenda for tomorrow. Today I ran to Walmart and bought new socks, undies, ipod car charger, new ear buds and countless other things we need for this trip. I'm about to make cookies because Kelsie wants to bring them to school tomorrow. One of her Teachers is letting them have a little celebration that exams are over.

Shannon I'm so sorry ya'll lost the house you liked but I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. They must have a better house out there that your family will love. Good luck!

Angie how's the heels today? That must be so painful. :flower3:

Wilma how many more days of school for you? Are things getting any better?

Becca are the boys still swimming?

Hi Mel, how's it going?

Bonnie and Squiddy get new men in their lives and they drop us like a hot potato. :lmao: Just kidding.

Julie's have fun in Disney, Grumpy Pirate is away having rum so that leaves Kimmy. Where art thou Kimmy?

Good Friday Morning

Have a great Holiday everyone.

It would be the the 4th, but it's been known to snow up here then as well.

TGIF Sassies!!!!!!

Last day of school and all my kids were up before I had to wake them this morning. What's up with that? :rotfl:

Packing day has arrived. Anyone want to stow away in my suitcase before I start throwing things in?

Tricia - I'll stow away!

Morning sassies!

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend. I'll be happy to have 3 days off in a row for work.

Have to go shopping to get some alcohol & clothing for next weekend when I'll be up in NC at a lake.

Good Morning Sassies. I've got less than 24 hours until we hit the rode. The suit cases are packed, the SUV has been vacuumed out, tonight we'll load her up and head out at 3:30 tomorrow morning. Just in case I don't check back in later I'll see you all in a week. We come back home next Sunday.

Hey there, Sassies! How's everybody doing? I see Tricia is heading out to Disney! Wooo hooo! I'm so jealous! Hope you have a fantastic trip, Tricia! Wish I were going with you!

Little update on me: Still separated and living under the same roof. The plan is to move out sometime this summer and part ways, but Brent still does not have a new job! He's had a couple phone interviews out of state. I am soooo hoping it works out, cause this is sucking! I'm still seeing Joe, he's coming out here on June 12th again. He wants to meet the girls, and they have decided they want to meet him too. Could have something to do with the fact that he wants to take the girls and me on his RV trip through Alaska in August. We'd be out there for two weeks, he'd be out there a little longer. The girls are sooooo excited. Well, Heather isn't sure what to expect, she thinks Alaska is nothing but glaciers. The younger two are thrilled! They just want to see some moose, bears, caribou and wolves!

Other than that, I'm super busy with end-of-the-school-year festivities, like memory books, report cards and graduation! The memory books take TONS of time! I should have been working on them all year long, but I didn't.

Hope you all enjoy your Memorial Day weekend! What's everyone up to?

Tricia have a funtastic time, tell Julie I said hi. :wave2:

Toots, glad to read things might be moving in the right direction. RE: those wonderful girls of yours, Background Check.

Judi, I am so thrilled your mom is doing so well!! I'm sure having such a devoted daughter has helped her heal.

Tricia-- HAVE A BLAST!!!! Can't wait to hear all about it upon your return!

Bonnie-- I'm sorry you're still stuck in the house with B-Man, but it sounds liek there's hope! Your trip to Alaska sounds fabulous! The girls will love it!:thumbsup2

We're heading to see Star Trek in a minute, but here is my latest news:

GOOD NEWS:
We put an offer on another, even better house, so I guess it's providential that we lost the first one. And we have a back-up house we like in case this one doesn't work out either.

BAD NEWS: I have a MRSA infection. Same unfortunate spot I was dealing with a few months ago, but it wasn't MRSA then. So I either picked it up at the Dr's office, or gym, indoor pool, locker rooms etc...

It's not as doom & gloom as I had thought. Apparently 1/3 of the human population has MRSA living on their skin or in their nose. It's only when it gets into a cut or wound that it becomes a problem. Good thing I caught it early though. As long as I watch carefully for signs of illness or worsening infection, I'll be fine. I'm on Keflex & Bactrim, which they said normally kills it. But I have to be really careful not to re-infect myself, and more importantly, my family. So, for now I have my own bathroom, and I am throwing out all the wash cloths I use. It's not worth the risk to wash them & reuse.

So, how many of you have passed out and/or fainted by now?:rolleyes1

Been there, Drove up and camped for three weeks, then the next time flew/state ferry. Take insect repellant!!

camping is great!!

Visit Denali park and your will see all the wildlife!!

take RUM!

Good evening, Sassies! How is everyone enjoying the long weekend?

Bonnie - I'm glad things seem to be going well. Alaska will be beautiful! Don't forget to send a kiss to a moose for me if you all go! We finished school on Friday and I am ever so glad. It's been a long year. I hope the big boss can pull herself together over the summer.

Shannon - Don't worry about the MRSA - you are doing all the right things. And you are right, it is absolutely everywhere! When I worked in the Burn ICU, lots of our patients got it and even though they were really immune compromised, it was rarely fatal. We used to have to come out of the patient's room, take off the gown, cap, gloves, etc. and then wash hands and blow our noses because that's where it loved to live! Keflex and Bactrim should do well, they are a good combination. Oh, and keep up on the yogurt or acidophilus pills because your meds will do a number on the good gut bacteria.:)

Bye, Tricia! Have a great week! If you see one of Mary Poppins' Penguins, give him my regards! They are handsome devils, aren't they?

Judi - Are you all camping this weekend? Is your mom staying with you?

We spent most of the weekend in Md. with Mr. FofP's grandmother, who has just been diagnosed with multiple myeloma. They removed a large mass from her spine and have to radiate a spot on her rib. She's 92, and as you can imagine, quite confused. For the first time ever, I had to kick some nurse butt when I discerned the level of care they were giving her. Pathetic. So, I hope to be able to go up often this summer and check on her. She may not have a lot of time left but by heavens, it's going to be the best we can make it.

Hope everyone has a good Memorial Day - say a prayer for the vets!:thumbsup2

I'm glad the girls want to meet him and he wants to meet the girls. I'm jealous of you going to Alaska. I went when I was 14 & I loved it! Hopefully Brent finds a job soon so he can get out.

Oh Star Trek! I enjoyed that movie.

I hope your new offer goes though.

Eek! MRSA. Hopefully you get it killed off soon.

Thanks Judi and Mel! I (being a nurse myself, and pretty tolerant about time constraints, etc) am usually the last one to fuss about nursing care but this was shameful. Why is there no "tsk, tsk" smiley?

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day! Summer is here!

bumpity bump bump bump, Sassiolas! Where have all the Sassies gone?:confused3

Good morning Sassies! I have been soooo busy lately. The garden is now planted and I actually have tomatoes on my 3 of my plants already.:yay:I love fresh picked tomatoes. The hardwood floor is going in this weekend so I have been prepping for that, what a pita. I have 3 new trees in the front yard. My fil was sent to the hospital via ambulance yesterday after passing out at a church function, he seems to be doing better as of last night. We got the camper out and scrubbed after sitting all winter. And I don't know what else!

I have to go back and read to respond to the activities of the other Sassies! See you soon!

Becca, send some tomatoes down here! In our yard, Chet's friends just waltz in and help themselves to any and all vegetation so we long ago gave up on growing our own. The Farmer's Market is our friend! I hope your FIL is okay - do they think it was his heart?

What's everyone doing today? I am having lunch with a friend and then buying Wally a new leash. Apparently, the other one bore a striking resemblance to a chew toy (or so he thought) and was gnawed mercilessly the other night.:headache: On the bright side, we only have 18 more months of puppyhood!:thumbsup2

Good Morning Sassies!!
I'm back! We had to dodge some serious rain every day, but did manage to catch some rays most mornings and early afternoons. One night we had to leave Epcot during a torrential storm and had to walk thru up to 6" of water in places!! :confused3 The ponchos were less than helpful with that!!

Unfortunately I did not get to meet Tricia this trip. The day we had hoped for was our last park day and the rain had thrown us off our plan and we had to go to a different park before heading to DTD.

I will post a TR for you guys with some pictures when I can.

Judi - That is FABULOUS about your MOM!

Good luck to the house hunters, sellers, new owners, and those in the maintenance phase.
I'll check in later. I need to start my :laundy: and I think I need a nap already!!!

Afternoon my fabulous friends!

Do you ever truly know how much C.R.A.P. you've accumulated until you start to pack up your house? Methinks not. And of course, Ryan's life wouldn't be the same if I threw out his box of assorted electrical/computer/video game cables that has been stored under a bed for 7 years.:rolleyes1

We bought a house!!!! Fingers crossed (once more). Now we're negotiating closing date, in a probably futile effort to not have to live with MIL for three weeks in between homes...

Welcome back Julie! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Bex, So sorry to hear about your FIL. Hope he makes a rapid recovery! Yay for your floors, Boo for all of the prep work!!! And Boo to the first boy who skateboards/scooters/otherwise defaces those floors!

Wilma-- Maybe if you stopped buying the bacon-flavored leash...:confused3
