Stewart Airport (Newburgh) early flight question

I just booked that crazy $10 deal on jetblue...it leaves at 8:30am. Do I really have to be there at 6:30 with no checked in bags? or can I push it to 7:30? I live about an hour away...thanks for any advice!

I would call Jet Blue and Stewart Aiprort for advice for your ariport arrival time.

Keep in mind - parking your car ? Checking in your bags ? Security checks ?
All those may take a bit of time.

thanks for your response. Getting dropped off, no bags. Tried to call airport, but keep getting rounded out to 1-800 number. Will keep trying though!

You could probably push it to 7:30. Getting dropped off means not dealing with parking lots. Security can get bogged down when everybody shows up at once, as there is literally just one guy who takes his sweet, Orange County time checking IDs and boarding passes. But with the small amount of gates, it's not like you'll be sprinting across the terminal to make it in time.

With no checked in bags and not parking, I'd say you can do 7:30. If you had to check, then I'd say 7:00, because there's no curbside drop off, nor is there a seperate line for folks who checked in online and just want to drop bags.

In February, I flew to ATL on Delta out of Stewart. The security guy spent 45 seconds staring at my driver's license, including pulling out a flashlight to get a better look at it. I live 15 minutes from Stewart, so it's great to fly out of there, but the small issues here and there (way too picky security, minimal staffing at the check-in desks, no curbside, passengers who seem to have never flown before and bog the system down) can make flying out of there not as smooth as many try to make it out to be.

My issue is when going through security you have to be practically naked. I completely understand the issues of security and checking everyone...but when I'm down to my tank top and bare feet already and getting wanded, I'm wondering if they're considering a cavity search next.

But I love Stewart. Its like having a private airport.

Lucky you---I'm sssooo jealous. Got home from work a little while ago and can get Westchester(return @ 8:15am) no Stewart I'm sure that you would be fine with 7:30. Have a great time!
