I sincerely think it is time for American Idol to hang up the microphone. The show has run it's course, made millions/billions of dollars, made way too many shouldn't bes be.

I'm in... we LOVE Steven Tyler/Aerosmith...if I can have me a little bit each week, I'm good. However, seeing as how the show is frighteningly close to jumping the shark, I hate that he woud be on the sinking ship. Add J Lo (who I hear is in Diva mode right now) not quite sureofthe dynamics of that. So we'd have Randy (Journey) Steven (Aerosmith) Kara, and J Lo? I think if Steven Tyler looks/dresses the way he likes he's happy...and he wil be pretty honest in his critiques.

Actually, isn't the story on the fall that Joe knocked him off the stage (accidently or.....hmmmm....maybe otherwise??) Would this maybe answer the question of "how the band feels."

I'm OH-so-thrilled that I will be able to see my ST every week. Will warm me through those last cold, winter months.

And in seriousness, I think he's a brilliant choice. A man who uses his voice like an instrument better than possibly anyone, ever. A dynamic performer and all-around okay guy. He may not be enough to save AI, but he will make for a fun enough season to keep it going one more year.

From what I read yesterday, apparently ST hit Jo in the head with a microphone stand during a concert a week or so ago, unintentionally of course. Then Joe "accidently" was playing around with ST during a show and shoved him off stage. ST apparently jumps right up and announces to the crowd "That ain't happening again!". Boys being boys or bad blood amongst band members... you decide.

I saw the clips too, the one where Steven is *bumped* off stage is well, staged, looks in good fun...but the one where Joe gets hit with the mike...ouch...does not look staged to me..Steven looks a little like, Dude, did not see THAT coming...whups! and Joe storms off the stage. I don't know, not sure what the mood is for the band these days, but again, if I can see ST each week, I'm good, maybe it will be good for Aerosmith overall if there is a break and lets face it, the name Aerosmith will be mentioned weekly to millions AND I am hoping if he is a judge , that a few more rockers will try out!
