Steps down to back yard--how much?

We have some railroad tie steps down to our backyard that need to be replaced. Has anyone put in steps like this? We are going to either put in poured concrete steps or decorative block steps. I am just wondering how much it costs--ballpark. I realize it is somewhat regional for costs but I really don't have an idea if they will be $500 or $5000. It is about a 20 foot run or so--5 steps at about 2 feet wide each now.

Sorry, but you are really going to have to get estimates.
When I needed new poured steps for the front of my house, I got 6 estimates. Ranging from $1200-$4000. All basically for the same thing. 3 did end up being close to $2800, so that's what we went with.

This is fine, I was just wondering what a ballpark number would be for this. It is just one of those things we have never done and had no clue how much it costs. I remember for our first house we wanted to put in a new countertop in the kitchen, small kitchen. We had this figure of $5000 in our head so we kept putting it off. We finally went and priced out coutertops and it ended up costing about $300. We were young, dumb and stupid then .
