Steppes In Africa; One Letter at a Time

Of course, I'm in!

I went to Victoria Falls and Botswana many years ago, which was amazing! Thinking of taking Ben for his next milestone birthday, so interested to see where you end up and what it's like there now. Would love to visit my namesake, Zanzibar!

Popping over from your last TR . Looking forward to reading about your newest adventures

I’ve made it :wave2:
Accidentally logged into Australian TR and thought “ how is it possible I’m 47 pages behind already 😱”. The relief was real when I realized what I’d done:rotfl:
Ditto to everything @Wood Nymph said.
Can’t wait to hear all :goodvibes
LOL!! That would a miracle like walking on water to have 47 pages 3 days in. HAHA! It's going to be pretty fabulous though and I can't wait to share. (I even have my big reveal chapter waiting to hit post on D-DAY!)

Well, I won't take over your TR by posting all of them, but since you asked, happy to post a small selection!

Here's one from the Zambezi river cruise.

At Victoria Falls. I was there in rainy season so it was kind of intense (it was NOT raining in these photos)!

Of course I'm here! Looking forward to the big reveal, and hearing about all the adventures!

I’ve traveled to 35 countries (and counting!)
I have traveled all around the countries of Epcot. Does that count!? :)

I’ve been packed for this trip for about a month (how far in advance to you pack?)
I am a super advance packer, too! My Mom and I booked a cruise last year for this May....I have had a totebag semi-packed next to my dresser since then and just keep adding things as I think of them!

SUPER excited for your adventure (and birthday celebration!) and can't wait to read along!

Joining in! Can't wait to see where you ended up! I've always wanted to go to Africa, even had a trip planned a few years back to South Africa after a work trip to Lesotho, but sadly that got cancelled. Still a bucket list item, so can't wait to see where you explored!

Hungry, hungry hippos!

My ex-FIL went there and said he could literally feel the earth shake there. Must be absolutely awe-inspiring!
Last time I did that I could hardly walk for a week. ;) That is a LOT of water.
So CLOSE!!! (or a really long lens!)
So cute! A rare hippo out of water shot! :)
Babies! Babies everywhere!

Long time reader here - I love your trip reports, so I'm here for it!!
Well hello there, and a HUGE :welcome:I'm wonderfully thrilled you came on to say hello and want to read (and hopefully post and chat) along! I am very hopeful this one is going to live up to the hype. :)

You've got a great start by visiting EPCOT! Those pavilions sure have inspired me!

That's the ONLY way to get ready for a trip. I do that too- as I think of things that I for sure won't use before the trip, I stash them away in a little pile. My memory stinks now.

I'm super happy you're here, Jackie, and reading along! A big :welcome:

:welcome: to you!! I'm tickled you've chimed in and hope you'll come and join the chatter often!

OHhhh, I'm sad you didn't get to go and experience something I know you must've really looked forward to. I've actually got the BIG REVEAL chapter written and all ready to PUSH on May 3rd. I think you'll like where "we're" going.

I practically lived on a horse from early childhood to my mid-20s. Although I don't do a lot of it anymore, my body's still mostly ok with it. With the exception of the mule ride down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back. I was sore after that one!

So CLOSE!!! (or a really long lens!)
Love a camera with a good zoom! I used to have the Sony Cybershot with 60x optical zoom, which I used for that trip. Having said that, we got pretty close to a lot of the animals. This photo's a good example of that.

This one was a newborn too! The guide estimated a few hours at most. We went at the right time of year for babies.

Personally, I just make lists. I do have a toiletry kit stashed in the hall closet that gets updated as needed, and besides that, everything pretty much just gets packed at the last minute. I know that approach stresses some people, but I hardly ever am traveling to an opposite climate, so usually I'm wearing my clothes up until I'm packing!
