Step Right Up and Watch Us Stack The Genie 🧞‍♂️ New TR started 9/25**

Yikes! Guess I will be calling in room requests from now on!
I think it maybe a good idea, however, we will have to endure the 3 hour phone wait! Ugh 😣
Wow, what a view!!
It was perfect. I could live there lol 😂
Love that! Nice timing with SE!
It was nice to see virtually no one in line!
I loved the Pink Lemonade Hard Cider, so refreshing!
I agree! One of my festival favorites
wanted to try that flatbread from Morocco but we were too full. Looks like an awesome evening. Your fireworks view from your room was incredible!!
The flatbread was very good. I was feeling a little tired and full at the time!
What? Travel? To WDW? Who'd've guessed????
:welcome:It really is hard to believe isn’t it! Haha 😂
Sounds like my DW. We should get them together so they can stay home while we have fun in Disney.
Sounds like a plan! I can’t even lure him with the food and drinks! :confused3
Um... that sounds a bit... wrong...
:rotfl:
my eldest DD likes Qdoba too.
It is Andi’s favorite and becoming a before Disney tradition. I like it but 2-3x a year is enough for me!
And May... don't forget May... still too cold.
Oh my goodness it sure is. We have had so much rain and rarely been over 50 degrees. :sad2:
Such a good idea. I hate leaving last minute and coming back and having to work right away.
Yes, it takes the stress out of travel days for me now and plus I have been at my job for a long time and I have a lot of vacation!:thumbsup2
You look pretty darned awake for 4am!
The filters on Snapchat help out! Hides the tired look.
So that's why I got a memo to keep an eye out for DLH passengers.
Shhh. Don’t tell anyone
It's on my list. Last I checked I could only rent it. Maybe it's available now on Netflix or Prime (or Disney+??)
It was really good. Lately I catch up on newer movies during our flights, otherwise I miss them.
I'm sensing a theme here.
Carnival 🎡 all the way, funny I haven’t been to a Carnival in many years!
It's such a beautiful resort.
It really is a great resort, It does make you feel like you are on vacation, very relaxing!
Heck no!
I'd have been more than just a little miffed too!
Poor Andi she looked very sad 😢 I couldn’t believe our luck, we were cursed for room placement here!
Is that good or bad?
Good because less walking? Or bad because more noise?
It was a little noisy in the early morning otherwise I really liked the location.
I do use ear plugs at times and these helped a lot!
know I've had luck with the faxed request, but... maybe that's a thing of the past now.
It could be. The CM told me you should never use a third party site, she hadn’t even heard of TP, weird :confused3
Wow! What a treat!
Pretty sweet deal.
The balcony and location were very nice
love the high tech markups.
Nothing but the best on my TRs!
love the festivals. They're so much fun... and so filling!
F&G is my favorite but I have found I enjoy all the festivals!
mmmm... liked that one.
We had this drink several more times!
Uh, oh! Tipsy Caroline! (Wasn't that a Neil Diamond song?
Many times, lol 😂
Yikes! Any more cheese and you ain't going potty for a week!
Right, 🧀 overload!
Cheese toast?
Good one!

What a great arrival day!
:thanks: And :welcome:! It was a wonderful day despite the 3:30am wake up call.
Geyser Point looks awesome. I'm planning on going there for our first MK day. I think it'll be a nice break from the park for lunch.
It really is worth a trip and the boat ride from MK is nice and quick
So excited to catch up on the rest of your report!
More to come soon!
As usual, I'm very late to this party. For some reason I never seem to find peoples' new TR's....
:welcome:Ahh not late at all and thank you for joining in!
This looked really good. My kinda drink.
It was delicious and perfect for a hot day, it tasted like a watermelon jolly rancher to me.
Yummmm...that looks really good!!
I would get this again, perfect dip and homemade chips!
Sounds like your trip was off to a great start!!
We really had a good travel day.
I loved it! My fiancé and I moved to North Carolina to settle down, and that's why we left! It is so fun to be on the other side of the magic. My role enabled me to go above and beyond for guests
I’m glad you liked it and working at Disney helping put guests with their plans, awesome!
Good things to know. I'll be staying there in July so your pictures and info are appreciated!
Will it be your first stay there? It really is a wonderful resort!
WL is one of the resorts I have high on my list for someday. Your room looks lovely.
I’m very glad we give it another try! Such a beautifully landscaped resort, in and out!
Perfect! I love me some SE.
Such memories on this ride, a wonderful way to start our Epcot time!
I wanted to try this but didn't have enough room in my belly.
I said that so many times this past trip. At home I plan on eating so many things at the festival and never get to all of them!
Now that's the way to end your night.
Fireworks 🎆 on a balcony with beautiful weather, it sure was!

Sounds like a plan! I can’t even lure him with the food and drinks! :confused3
How is that even possible???
It is Andi’s favorite and becoming a before Disney tradition. I like it but 2-3x a year is enough for me!
I've only had it once, so can't make an informed decision about it yet.
Oh my goodness it sure is. We have had so much rain and rarely been over 50 degrees. :sad2:
:sad2:
Tell me about it. My motorcycle has been looking at me all accusingly for not taking it out.
Yes, it takes the stress out of travel days for me now and plus I have been at my job for a long time and I have a lot of vacation!:thumbsup2
I have too, but... finding time where someone else isn't gone is tough (we are very short-staffed right now so only one person can take leave at a time.)
The filters on Snapchat help out! Hides the tired look.
Nah. All you.
It was a little noisy in the early morning otherwise I really liked the location.
I do use ear plugs at times and these helped a lot!
ah!
It could be. The CM told me you should never use a third party site, she hadn’t even heard of TP, weird :confused3
Really?? Huh!
Nothing but the best on my TRs!
Many times, lol 😂
:lmao:

It'll actually be the first time I've ever seen Wilderness Lodge! I don't know why, but I've never managed to sneak over there for a meal or a peruse around, so I'm really looking forward to it.
I’m so excited for you! It is a beautiful resort!
How is that even possible???
I know! He loves eating haha 😆 Now if there was a Retriever Field Trail or Pheasant hunting around WDW I would have no problem! :rotfl:
Tell me about it. My motorcycle has been looking at me all accusingly for not taking it out.
It is only going to be a high of 49 tomorrow! Help….
I have too, but... finding time where someone else isn't gone is tough (we are very short-staffed right now so only one person can take leave at a time.)
This is so true! Where have all the workers gone. We have lost so many nurses and no one is applying for positions! Sad 😞

Now if there was a Retriever Field Trail or Pheasant hunting around WDW I would have no problem! :rotfl:
This is a failing on Disney's part!
It is only going to be a high of 49 tomorrow! Help….
I hear you. Same here. (Well, high of 43. Close enough. It's 38 at the moment.)
Plus it's pouring rain right now.

And here I am lamenting about 65, drizzle, and no sun predicted for today. At least I can complain about $6 a gallon gas.... 😂

I'm glad it rarely gets that cold here. I don't know how you folks do it!

And here I am lamenting about 65, drizzle, and no sun predicted for today. At least I can complain about $6 a gallon gas.... 😂
Gas is $7.11/gallon here. That's in CAD which converts to $5.54/gallon USD. But since I get paid in CAD and not USD, it's all relative.

We do it by planning vacations south!

Ugh! We just went over $4.00 and I hate it!

Oh my bigger ugh!!! Most All our gas comes from North Dakota and Minnesota so we stay a little less! Ouch at the pump! I use to pay $22.00 to fill my Subaru now it is $55.00.

Petrol prices soaring here too!
All your messages have me wondering what price a gallon it is here - currently unleaded is £1.68 a litre. Last time I filled the tank on my wee Vauxhall Corsa it cost me £70 😱😭. Now granted the petrol light had come on so it was running on empty but still it used to be £40 max. Right I’m away to figure out how many litres in a gallon. I think it’s 2.5 but I’ll edit post when I’ve checked just so we can all moan together some more 🤣

Ok I was way off!
There are 3.785 litres in an American gallon (which is different from a UK gallon apparently)
So I think I am the winner ( actually the biggest loser) when it comes to gas prices as I’m paying
£1.68 x3.785x 1.30 ( current exchange rate = a grand total of $8.66 a gallon 😭😭😭
Don’t get me started on the increase in grocery prices! This saving for a holiday craic is getting harder each passing day!

It's about 4 liters to a gallon. So, it would be about 6.72 pounds for one gallon when you filled up the other day. :sad1: (8.39 dollars as of today.)
The only reason I know this is because we use liters, too, but people back home are always asking us current prices so I have to let them know in gallons.
I actually gasped at the pump the other day when I saw ours was up to 1.54 a liter.

:scared1: Oh my gosh! I will quit complaining. Minnesota is one of the lowest in our country right now! I’m going to be honest, this is only the second time in all my years (which is a lot) that I have seen gas over $4.00 a gallon so it is high for us.. I knew Europe and Canada always had higher prices than us but wow! No wonder you all drive those little tiny cars!
Groceries and everything crazy prices!
Guys try the uk ... we are at £1.68 a litre which, if i've got my maths right, is about 8 dollars a gallon. But spring has sprung and my wisteria has bloomed.
Crazy! I wish things were blooming here! I do see a few buds on our trees but nothing like your wisteria beautiful!

It is just ridiculous especially around here when we have plenty of oil in our area but with speculation our prices rise as well, so stupid!!
I think filling every few days will make it less shocking, lol 😆

Your trip sounds like fun, just starting reading. My daughter (age31)and I love our Disney trips, I was a nurse years ago and she is a nurse 8 years now at yale new haven, she was a covid nurse for many months, you are correct is saying that so many nurses left and are short staffed. My husband is a retired police also a sad profession these days. You must be so proud of your girl, you inspired her to do service work- so rewarding. Looking forward to following your Disney adventures.

Also fit perfectly on our bendy windy roads :drive::rotfl:

I have a friend who only puts £20 of petrol in her tank at a time she said it’s less painless lol.
I told her at this rate it’s only going to get her as far as the road and she’s going to have to turn back into the forecourt again:scared1::rotfl2:

:welcome:Thank you for joining in! Tell your daughter I’m very proud of her and all the hard work she is doing!! It isn’t easy!
I think my profession made me love the Disney bubble even more, such a nice way to escape and feel the magic and pixie dust without worrying about other things!
We are very proud of Andi and wish her the best starting her career! I’m so grateful for all our traveling together
Also fit perfectly on our bendy windy roads
Haha, we have wide open roads here and big vehicles 🚗 lol 😂

Our first lesson on stacking the Genie and a visit to Universal.

4/27/22 Today was our first full day of vacation.

We both slept really well and I got up around 6am. I decided it was a good morning to head over to Universal. Our AP’s at Universal expired on 4/28 so it was an easy decision.

We got ready and headed out before 7am. Our plan was to make it there in time for the extra hour which started at 8am.

Our AP’s are the ones that allow early entry and give a 10% discount on food and merchandise.

We scheduled a Lyft and we were on our way. Let’s have a Genie+ lesson now! I purchased Genie+ around 6:30am and set up my day. I made sure JC, PPF were the two attractions I wanted for the day. It is best to put the attraction you want the most at top or even just list the one attraction. This way when you go in right at 7am you just need to hit that attraction and pick a time. We decided not to get a $FP for 7DMT. It was $12.00 a person. We have been fortunate enough to ride mine train many times and the price for 30-40 seconds of fun was just too much. We also thought we would be able to ride it during the extra magic hours.

I wanted a JC for around 6:30-7:30pm so I kept checking periodically and by 9am I was able to snag a JC for the exact time I wanted. I set the timer on my phone for 10:55am to remind it to get Peter Pan. Honestly this did not interfere at all with our time at Universal.

Meanwhile, we had the Lyft driver bring us to Royal Pacific resort. The walking path is quick and close to IOA. You get to use the security on the path, always quick and efficient. We made it to IOA and lined up by 7:30 am.

Our plan was to go directly to Hagrid’s, who doesn’t want to see the biggest man/giant at the carnival 🎡 I sure did! I believe Hagrid’s dad was a giant, so perfect for the carnie theme! We had read online that sometimes Hagrid’s ride isn’t open for the extra hour, so we had a backup plan. If this was the case, Andi would head to Velocicoaster and I would chill with a butter beer 🍺 I liked both plans. I’m all about sipping on a butter beer!

The park opened at 7:45 and we went as fast as our short little legs would go. The Hagrid queue was open and moving right along, yay! Andi tells me she is impressed that I continue to ride this attraction. She reminds me how fast it goes, the drops, and the backwards part. Thanks Andi! I do like this ride, however, it is a thrill ride for sure and a tad intense for me.

I had my handy dandy Fanny pack on so we didn’t have to use the locker area!

Our wait was maybe 10 minutes. I rode in the side car as usual. Wow this ride is fun but a bit nauseating for me. I made it!
IMG_2022-5-23-072552.jpg
I knew I couldn’t do Forbidden Journey right after so we did the small Hagrid Rollercoaster, similar to Barnstormer.
IMG_2022-5-23-074343.jpg
Wow, I was feeling quite queasy after this, just like the twisty&twirly rides at the carnival! Have you ever rode the tilt a whirl? What was your favorite carnival ride?

Andi ran to get me a butter beer, this sugary drink did help to settle my stomach. Insert Dorky queasy tourist now..
IMG_2022-5-23-073209.jpg

We decided to head over to Velocicoaster to check the wait time. I picked up a churro to snack on. Sugar on sugar oh yeah!

Andi didn’t like the wait time of 25 minutes :confused3so we decided to head over to The King Kong area. The park wasn’t even open yet to regular guests. We got to Kong right at 9am and walked right on. We really like this ride and it doesn’t bother my stomach. The King Kong at the end is an amazing animatronic!

Andi noticed the single rider lane was open for Velocicoaster so back over there we go. I walked much slower and she galloped over there. This coaster is way to scary for me!
IMG_2022-5-23-073815.jpg
I had her phone, you cannot take your phone on this ride, and sat down to watch the coaster whizz by me.

Andi had a fun time on her favorite coaster! She did only get one ride on it today but she was fine with that.

We decided to walk over to Spider-Man before the wait time got to long. We waited about 15 minutes. We really enjoy this ride. Andi’s 3D glasses flew off during the ride! Not sure how that happened.

Andi wanted to check out the Hulk single rider line. I walked around the store area and Spider-Man was meeting in the back of the store. I peeked in there but didn’t go into meet him.

I went outside and Andi was already heading back my way, she said the line was way to long.

We decided to go to Seuss Landing and try the Green Eggs and Ham food booth for a snack. We decided on the Buffalo Chicken Tater Tots. It was still pretty early and the place was not very busy. There are tables and chairs along the side of the food kiosk. It is a nice area. We got our tots and these are really good.
IMG_2022-5-23-073307.jpg
There was a nice cool ranch dressing on the top which cooled the spicy Buffalo sauce. The tots were very crisp on the outside and soft inside. We enjoyed this snack.

We went to ride Cat in the Hat. I love this little ride, it never is really busy and a fun time.
IMG_2022-5-23-072234.jpg
So it was not even 11am yet and we had done almost everything we wanted to do in IOA. Normally we have the Express Pass and without it we did not want to wait in long lines today.

It was time to walk over to Universal studios. It was a hot day with a light breeze. Perfect weather.

I went into the MDE app and was able to add Peter Pan for around 7-8pm, yay! Perfect timing. I set my timer for 12:55 to get another selection at 1pm.

Andi checked the single rider line for Rip Ride Rollercoaster and the line wasn’t open. She skipped this ride as well, not wanting to wait in the standby line.

ET is a favorite and we headed over to ride. The pre show is back wow it is out dated but I still love this ride. Now ET could be at a carnival, he looks like an oddity people would line up for!
IMG_2022-5-23-074636.jpg
He is a weird looking little guy and his planet on the ride is very strange! I still love this ride so much!

We went to MIB next and did single rider line and literally walked right on and got in the same ride vehicle.

We skipped Diagon Alley this day, I did stop by 12 Grimmauld Place to yell at Kreacher! I love seeing Kreacher peeking out the window.

We did The Jimmy Fallon attraction before we headed out to walk around Citywalk. I like the attraction but the pre show with the teenage girl played by Jimmy Fallon drives me crazy. She/he is so irritating 😠 Reminds me of the irritating carnival workers luring you in to spend all your money on the stupid games!

We looked in a few stores on Citywalk and decided to eat at CowFish. We got seated right away. We went with the deep fried pickles, roasted brussell sprouts, and the tree hugger sushi roll. I had an original margarita with patron tequila and Andi had a blood orange one.

IMG_2022-5-23-073445.jpg
Everything was delicious and the drinks very good. We wanted to get back to WL to rest up for a late night at MK.

We wanted to share the fish bowl drink, but they were out of the big fish bowl glass???

We would have been feeling no pain if we drank the fish bowl drink lol 😂 picture of one, thanks google
IMG_2022-5-23-075543.jpg

During this time at 1pm I grabbed another FP at MK for BIg Thunder, yay!

We got back to the lodge via Lyft around 3pm and rested up for our night at MK. I also got another FP for Pirates!

Stay tuned for our night at MK!

“Enjoying the fruits of the Genie+ stacked style”

Over the last few years, we have really become "Universal people!" You hit up lots of our favorites!! I'm the adventurous rollercoaster rider in our family, while Rob and Jimmy like the more laid back rides. Rob's favorite in all of Universal is the Cat in the Hat ride, LOL! He says it has the best air conditioning in Florida :)

Sounds like you did great with stacking up your rides in Genie+. It seems like the strategy to use it for later in the day works much better than trying to use it starting in the a.m. and throughout the earlier afternoon from many posts I've read about it. Looking forward to hearing about your MK evening!! :)
