I bought some t-shirts and some glitter fabric paint, found a mickey head and made a stencil out of card stock. It was a little bit of a disaster. The paint bled under the stencil in a small area and since I had to leave the stencil in place to put on a second coat, the paper stuck to the paint. So now I have pieces of the stencil on my shirt.

Had anyone made their own stencils before. What do you use as the medium? I did some google searching and all I saw was plastic folders or page protectors. I'm afraid the folders won't lie flat and I think the page protectors are too thin.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

Freezer paper! I print the image on the paper side and use an exacto knife to cut it out. You then iron the freezer paper wax side down. This creates a bond so that you can paint, but it is really easy to peel off when it is done. Happy crafting!

Cool, thanks!

I like using contact paper (the kind used for shelf covering)...then I don't have to iron!
