We're staying at All Star Music. Can anyone tell me where's the nearest Steak n Shake? Thanks!!!!!!!

There is also one a few blocks from the Crossroads entrance to Downtown Disney. Turn left at the intersection, go through the next intersection, and you will find it in the small shopping center past the sheraton safari.

Probably an easier drive than trying to get through the traffic on 192.

Is Steak N Shake something special? They are new to our area, and we don't eat burgers all that often but when I want a hamburger I want a good one ( ala NOT Wendy's McDonalds ect). I checked out their website and it sounds good......but then I wouldn't expect it to do anything else. Thanks in advance!

HockeyDadof2, my family(who all play hockey BTW) all love Steak n Shake. The burkers and milkshakes are out of this world. There is no comparison to them and burgers from Wendy's. Unfortunately, we don't have one in our town, so we stop at one whenever we get the chance.

Thanks, next time we are craving a good burger we are going to try it. Do your kids play travel hockey? If so maybe we will meet at the Silver Stick regional tournament?

No travel teams yet---the girls(5 and 8) are still learning. DH plays year around with a league team, but doesn't travel. DS(3) just started skating lessons. Good luck to your kids! And, try the frisco burger...it's delicious.

My son LOVES SteaknShake... so does his Mom! It's become a recent fave since they introduced their Banana Milk Shake!

When we were on our way to our hotel last week my son got giddy when he saw that SnS was at the same exit. We managed to go there twice during our visit and both times were great. They make the best burgers and shakes I've ever eaten! :teeth:

Two of the best things about Orlando:

Steak and Shake!!

Gotta love those burgers ( wish they would come to NY)

and

Krispy Kreme Donuts ( they are just starting to come to NY)

Best donuts ever!

We always hit Steak and Shake when we go down, and first stop on the way to WDW is Krispy Kreme!!!!!!!!!

Yay Steak and Shake

Feed my two teenagers and myself for $18 at the Crossroads S and S and we had a TON of food earlyier this year. Wish we had one around here in MN>

herc.

Not to rain on anyones parade, but I'd watch the Steak and Shake on 535 in LBV. I've tried it twice, and both times were AWFUL. Might have been bad luck on my part, but I've had a very spotty experience with them.

I agree with Pete, was at the one near Crossroads in March '03 & it was really really bad. I do mystery shopping for restaurants as a side gig & all I kept thinking while I was there was they better be glad I wasnt shopping them at the time. Had to send 2 of our 3 food orders back. food was not cooked properly, shake was not a malt as requested, ordered 3 malts, 1 was brought the wrong size & the waiter was p'oed that he had to remake 2 of them. scared to think of what may hve been dropped in them. & the bathrooms were nasty. no soap, no papertowels. how did the wait or cook staff wash their hands??? gross to even think about, had I visited the restroom before our meal, I would have walked right out. The wait staff was extremely unorganized. no body knew which table belonged to whom so people just sat waiting to have their order taken & food sat on the "ready to serve" window 5-10 minutes before being picked up. watched the wait staff reach over food with the arm pits of their shirts touching food! (I watched my food every minute that it sat there making sure of no one touching my plates)

now mind you, we do love steak & shake, just hated the one on 535 near crossroads. The one on 192 by the superwalmart is good with service & food, worth the extra drive, especially if you might need some walmart essentials during your stay & will be in the area anyway

Thanks for the recommendation, we tried Steak and Shake yesterday for dinner. The burgers were absolutely wonderful. We didn't really care for the little french fries they are OK when the first come out and are hot but they cool off fast and I hate cold french fries. The baked beans looked good and I think I will try them next time.

Hey, Plano!

I was still living in Allen when the first SnS opened up at Grapevine Mills. MomChick and I gladly stood out on the curb for the two hours it took to get a table. (It was like a Midwestern reunion out there, lol.)

The fries are pretty much their trademark. You'll eventually start craving them. The chili is also legendary.

Oddly enough, I never really liked SnS when I was still in the midwest and could get them all the time. It wasn't until they suddenly showed up in Dallas that I started to really like them. (They're still more expensive than any other drive thru, but worth it when the budget allows.)

I love the Frisco Melt personally. But, if you didn't get one of the milkshakes you missed the best part of the meal!

HockeyDadof2, did you try the new Plano location or Frisco?

Larry

Their chilli is the best with the cheese and onions. It makes my mouth water now. wE don't have one here in town. Every year or so there are rumors that one is coming but not yet. I also love their lime freezes. Not as heavy as a milkshake.

Fiveforall..... Roll Tide You don't need a Steakn shake you have Dreamland. I miss living in Tuscaloosa.

We went to the new one on 75 in Plano. We did have shakes I had strawberry and the wife had chocolate both were great. My youngest DS had a peach one, he liked it I couldn'g bring myself to try it.
