How do most members get the best use of their points for stays that excced a week; let's say 10-12 days where you have one weekend sandwiched in there. Do you pay cash for the weekend; move to a WDW resort or maybe stay off site?

I was also curious, if you stay in multiple sized rooms (studio vs 1BR) during a stay is it all booked under a single ressie?

Thanks again

We are maximizing our points by staying in studios for extended stays because we don't like moving. Im always adding days before or after our scheduled stay so sometimes moving is inevitable.

We stayed 16 nights in studios at VWL and SSR last Christmas and it was great with a little organization, so we are really pushing it this time and shooting for 4 weeks!

Our next stay will be at BCV in a studio from 5/29 to June 10th. We will then move to SSR until June 24th.

We will stay at SOG from 5/26-5/29 before we check in at BCV.

Luckily, we love each other very much!

When our Ds's are older, we will move up to a 1 bdr and still stay as long as we can.

This Aug DS13 & I are staying in a VWL studio on pts 6nights Sat Aug 13-Fri Aug 19
we then have a VWL studio booked Fri Aug 19-Sun Aug 21 on cash
Moving to BCV studio on pts Aug 21-27 6nights

We often stay for 10 days, and we usually arrange it so we are only staying one weekend to conserve points. For our New Years trip, we will be arriving on Saturday (New Years Eve ) and staying through the next weekend as well. Really hated to use 100 points for one night in a 2 bedroom, so we are starting the trip in a 1 bedroom and moving to the 2 bedroom on Sunday. That means we will use 73 points for the first Saturday night while the next weekend, we will only need 108 for the whole weekend in a 2 bedroom. I have also used studio stays on weekends before our guests have arrived too. DH doesn't see much point in paying for weekend nights, since we already have the points.

We stay Sunday to Thursday then go to All Stars for the weekends then back for the next Sun to Thurs.

Does the resort you are leaving handle the moving of your luggage? Do DVC and non DVC resorts work well togehter. Also how did you handle the ressie, were you able to make the entire ressie through DVC MS?

Thanks....

Baggage came be moved from one WDW resort to another by Disney. For a cash reservation at a non-DVC resort, you will have to call CRO.

We stayed 10 days a year or so ago..........we decided to break up our stay to save points, but also to experience some of the other resorts on prperty. WE stayed at Beach Club one week-end and POFQ the other........staying at OKW during the week. Moving can be a hassle, but they do move your stuff for you. One tip though, they may not move it at the speed you are hoping for. Pack one small bag with swimsuits and other essentials(put it in your car or carry with you), in case your goods don't make it at the time you were expecting. We waited for over 2 hours for our bags (that held swimsuits), after returning from the parks.

Have Fun!
