You know even now with a few weeks to go, that's in the back of my mind. Coming home. Dread that. I do that with all of our vacations.

But you have so many great stories to tell. Sounds like the kids had a blast. That's what it's all about.

Our neighbors though were obviously not fellow disers. Were rolling their eyes and the husband commented to get a life as we were excitedly putting out our decorations. I told the kids obviously they were not true disney lovers! They left the next day.

By the way did anyone else have a problem with Pop over their box? The lady at the desk (who was one of many rude people that we met. I was shocked!) told me they didn't hold packages for people. That they had never done that. I told her the decorations and a fridge were left for me and she told me that she didn't understand how that could be possible since they didn't hold packages for future arrivals. I told her they did hold packages and the decorations had been there for months. After a 10 minute argument she finally agreed to hold the decorations for mommyesq so I hope she actually got it.

We had neighbors that we thought were like that too. They moved in after my parents left the connecting room. They (teenage kids come to find out) kept leaving messages on our door, like "why do you do this?" And "leave a note?" So, one night after midnight, I caught them writing on the door, and explained that the decorating and having notes left for us made my kids happy, and that someday they would understand. I told them that I didn't mind them leaving notes on the door, and not to be scared, as they were running away from being "caught". On our last day they decorated their entire window!!!!! They must have gone and bought dry erase markers, as they had drawn a great big mickey and wrote their names on the window. So, I guess they had a change of heart and then thought it was cool if it made people happy!

I hate it when cast members give you a hard time like that. Sometimes I just wonder why they just won't ask somebody else? Wouldn't it just have been easier to excuse themselves by saying, I will check for you?

Sorry you had that experience! I would have been !

Glad you had so many other Magical Moments! Makes me so jealous!!!!!

quick question Michelle. Didn't you send ahead some stuff for your vacation? How did you go about it. Did you have to call ahead? I'm really considering doing this.

Pull up a comfy chair and help us put together the clues and make guesses--or just read and enjoy!



Oh, and the TF has even popped in to chat and is being generous with the tags! Even I finally got new ones!!!!

Just stopping by to say hi!! Boy, everyone must be on vacation or something . We're getting ready for halloween tomorrow night. My daughter has been a princess for the last 4 years, and this year she decided to be a witch........... . Yep, we've crossed over to the dark side this year. I'm trying to make her a really pretty witch though

I am really looking forward to our trip because it is really starting to get cold here. We're down to running the heat every night now. I guess that's what you get for living in the northeast.

Thanks dgboos - I did get box 4 (the ice cooler) and a large tink bank (was this from you as well?) and a 1/2 case of water.....They did give me a hassle and did not want to deliver it to the room - I told them as long as I could use a cart I would come get it and was changing my clothes to go get it when at CM banged at my door (I mean this literally as my son jumped out of the bed scared) and with the items but proceed to tell me they dont normally do this and that this was a one time exception - blah blah blah.......I told him I was on my way to pick it up as the front desk informed me they would not deliver - he was pissed off and so was I - and he stayed waiting for a tip and I did something I would never do - CLOSED THE DOOR RIGHT IN HIS FACE!!!

When I tried to leave the box for Rhonda D(cant find her screen name right now) they had me leave it in the luggage claim area and gave me a claim ticket so I may need to mail it to you Rhonda so please pm me )....

I combined all the stuff in the ice chest - it is packed and threw away a couple of the clings that we stuck together or ripped and placed in a few items to contribute to the cause......no messages from any Dissers - I was in the 50's lake view and it was very quiet in fact I dont think there were too many people on our end - near the bowling pin (room 3458)

Sorry to hear there's been problems with trying to leave the boxes for the next person.

It was so easy for us -getting it & leaving it. The CM's were very friendly & seemed to enjoy being in on a surprise.

Well, here finally are the pictures of our window and door. We got several signers on our door which the girls loved.

My wife forgot to mention :
We found 2 paint brushes at Tom Saywer Island(kept the certificates)
Found the key under the mat at Muppet 3D (Magical Moment Certificate)
Kids had Magical Moment at Cool Station
Scuba dived with sharks and sting rays
The best is that there were more positives than negatives and those will be what stands out.

dgboos: Isn't it fun finding those things? Last trip we came across all the secret stuff to find and when we did it was just the best feeling. And that's what stands out the most in my memory. Didn't make it to the Island. Good for you guys.

Good morning all! Just checkin in & catchin up!

Glad everyone is getting and passing on their boxes - even if it is a little problematic at times. Ya know, I really love the POP. So much that even if I would get an free upgrade, I'd probably turn it down. There's so much about the resort that is simple & fun and just shouts DISNEY to me! But...I will say mail and package delivery has never been their strong point. One trip it was just me & DGD celebrating her birthday. Several family members mailed her cards and small packages. We would get a message that a package had arrived and was waiting to be picked up. We would go down to get it - and nobody could find it! Okay, no big deal. We'll just get it later. Next day, another message. Go to pick it up. Nothing. This went on for 5 days! Finally got it all on our last day. Luckily, the rest of the trip was magical, so it didn't really upset us. BUT, it doesn't surprise me at all that there might be some confusion with our window boxes.

dgboos - Sounds like a great trip! Lots of extra Good for you!

Woo Hoo we have finally hit the under thirty mark. I can't wait. It is "still" a surprise to DD, she knows we're going somewhere but her dad has her convinced that we are going to Hawaii So hopefully we will be able to pull this off at least until we get to the airport in Orlando.

I have a couple of questions... are there any limitations to decorating the windows at all? I'm figuring we cant stick stickers on them but could tape them so they come off easier, right? and where are all the pics of the windows, i'm dying to see some more so I can get some good ideas!? Thanks everyone...SO looking fwd to being in on this fun!

I don't know about rules, but in my judgement the window should be left the way it's found.

As far as decorationg goes, knock yourself out. Do what you feel needs to be done. Have fun and take lots of pictures.(and then post them here) I think the pictures on here are great!

Ok, tomorrow is 21 days. It's really starting to sink in. I'm making DH go out tomorrow and get new luggage. Ours are so done. I need to start packing already!!!!!

GOOD MORNING!

Now that Halloween is over, it seems a little more real that the holidays - and my Disney trip - are just around the corner! In fact, I was just thinkin' I probably need to get my rear in gear as far as Christmas shopping, etc. since I'll miss a whole week and 2 week-ends of shopping and baking time in December while we're in Orlando! I am a procrastinator when it comes to Christmas. Yes, I am the one you'll see out there still shopping on Christmas Eve! And the night before that I was up til 3 am baking cookies! Every year I say I won't put things off; every year I do!

mony - 30 more days for you! And I'm right behind you! I can't do my "official" countdown until I'm at that 30 day mark - it's just too depressing for me to be too far away. Are you decorating for the holidays during your trip? Just wonderin if you needed little lights, etc.

Kat - Welcome to Box 4! FYI - I will have LOTS of Christmas stuff for ShellyMouse and you, including a couple of little trees for inside. (We made the cutest Disney ornaments from felt, foam and pompoms so we wouldn't have to worry about breakage.) Feel free to PM me if you'd like so that you may not have to plan on packing something we'll already have down there.

Which reminds me...
MommyEsq - Were you ever able to pass on Box 4? Hope you didn't have to mail it. Do you remember some of the stuff that was in it? Would love to hear about your trip and see pics of your window!

At K*B*Toys I saw DIsney mini table top Christmas trees for 19.99 VERY CUTE! they came with the topper, the lights and the ornaments! it was little and super cute!!
