We are thinking of doing US in December. Right now I have booked Aventura with an AP rate. My sister is having ankle problems and if this problem is still going on (5 months now) unable to do parks. So, was thinking of still going and doing some pool hopping and just enjoying. But, I reserved the hotel with AP. Should I just cancel and reserve it with the current rate instead? Not sure if the price goes up on the room as Dec gets closer??

If it were me, I'd reserve it with the current rate too & just hang onto both until you know for sure. You can cancel up to 5-6 days out. Prices are likely to go up, depending upon bookings.

Well, really, if it were me I'd get the AP, go to the parks a few hours here and there while sis is resting/sleeping in, and then have the AP to use for next year's makeup trip as well. But that's just me.

There are also wheelchairs available! At the OI Meetup one year, our friend got such a bad blister that she couldn't walk and decided to stay in the room on the second night (she had other foot issues that got triggered by the blister). We ended up coaxing her into using a wheelchair (we pushed) and the TMs were very accommodating. :)

If I am at an onsite resort and decide after a few days that I need a scooter, is it possible to get one? I am a bit nervous about all the walking and would like the option if necessary. I seriously don't remember just how many spots I can sit and take a break walking in MK! Are there a lot? Last time I was there (2015), I powered through without an issue, but times have changed and I am not sure I could do that again!!

From the internet:

Scooters (ECVs), wheelchairs and strollers are available to rent inside each of the Universal Orlando theme parks. You can reserve a scooter or wheelchair at least 1 week in advance as they do sell out. Call Guest Services 407-224-4233 to make a reservation.
