Staying at CSR -- need 1 TS suggestion

We will be staying at CSR, but will not have park tickets our first day. We have myself, SIL and 4 kids in party (12, 15, 16 and 20). Need a good TS option, what might you suggest?

I was looking at Grand Floridian, 1900 Park Fare, Maya Grill, or Kona Cafe. What do you think of these choices? Do you have a better option?

How difficult would it be to get from CSR to GF for 1900 Park Fare dinner?

Of those choices, Kona Cafe is the best. Don't bother with Maya Grill! Ick.

To have transport between Disney resorts, either take a bus to DTD and transfer to a bus for the resort that you are going to, or take a bus from your resort to the park closest to the resort you want to go to. Either walk (if close enough) or take whatever Disney transport makes the most sense (another bus, monorail, ferry).

If you like buffets, I'd go with Cape May's dinner buffet (at the Beach Club). They have a very wide variety, including some shellfish. We've had excellent luck bringing large groups with very diverse preferences there.

Park Fare is where we are having our breakfast the day we leave (we are also at the CSR). I'm pretty sure the easiest way would be to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom, then hop on the resort monorail to the GF.

What about a restaurant in Downtown Disney? We ate at Raglan Road on our arrival day. Browsing in the shops is a great way to feel the Disney magic without going into the parks!

Another thing you might want to consider depending on when you get to your resort:

Adding a day on your tickets can be as little as 2 bucks per ticket. That would be 12 bucks for the 6 of you, and that might be worth it for a few hours in a park and that would open up your choices more for TS. It's just an idea that I found interesting. If our plane is on time, I think I'll spend the extra few bucks to spend the evening in a park.

If our plane is on time, I think I'll spend the extra few bucks to spend the evening in a park.

We did that too-- got park tickets for our arrival and departure days. I think it added something like $50 to the price of our trip. Then we lucked into an early flight down and a late flight home-- effectively giving us 2 extra park days!!!!

As to your dining options, consider 'Ohana in the Polynesian. You could take the bus to the TTC then walk to the Polynesian.
