BWV is our home resort. We prefer a place with full hotel services and quick access to most things. Thus we consider BWV's benefits to include:
1. Location: you can walk to MGM and Epcot and other Epcot resorts.
2. Restaurants: that also means you can walk to about 20 different restaurants. At the Boardwalk itself, the ESPN is a good sandwich/burger, other short order food place and for watching sports events and sometimes having celebrity sports players as guests for interviews. Big River is also a good place for burgers and other short order foods and lots of beer choices. Neither of those take ressies Flying Fish is also very good but more upscale and ressies needed. Spoodles is mediteranean food which we generally do not care for. The Seashore Sweets shop has great ice cream, fudge and salt water taffy. The Bakery is good for donuts in the morning. Going to other resorts, we also like Cape May Cafe (BC's buffet style restaurant), Yachtsman's Steakhouse, and Palio's at the Swan (Italian). Then there are of course the park restaurants. If you stay at a place like BW, you learn that you can go to one at Epcot at 8:50 in the evening when the park is about to close and have a late dinner and then leave as late as 10:30.
3. There is also room service.
4. The pool is very nice, and sometimes usuable in Jan, and has a very good bar. The playground near the pool is also good for kids (the "ground" is a soft mat).
5. We always have a car and valet parking is ideal.
6. An evening seeing some of the things on BW, including the street players, is also enjoyable. However, be aware I do not consider going on the boardwalk just to walk around a thing of interest for more than a hour or two for the entire time we are there.
7. Jellyrolls is a good nighclub with the dueling pianos. We don't do Atlantic Dance.
8. Boardwalk view rooms are the best; no views are really bad.
